It has been one heck of week for gay lady TV fans. We got our first real glimpse at The Foster and Mistresses. ABC Family kicked off the summer season of Pretty Little Liars with a recap episode. Jaime Murray and Mia Kirshner hopped into bed on Defiance. And Warehouse 13 punched us in the soul in a beautiful way. While you were busy watching all the lesbian things, you might have missed some of this week's best fandom-y tweets, so we've rounded them up for you.

Previously on Once Upon A Time, the Charming Family wants to go back to the Enchanted Forest and the Shady Duo found Hook and brought him back to Storybrooke, and Ruby disappeared into thin air.
We open on Tamara and Stranger Greg, who have Captain Eyeliner captive in the clocktower. He's all cocky because he thinks he killed Rumplestiltskin, so when they show him Gold and Lacey traipsing about, he is Furious. The evil duo tell the evil pirate that they'll help him kill The Dark One if he'll help Stranger Greg find his father.
Flash back to Regina in all her Evil Queen glory, decked out in the sexiest riding garb ever, and on the hunt for Snow White.

Did you know our brothers at AfterElton are now our brothers at The Backlot? Yep! New name, new design, same awesome content. In fact, just yesterday they posted a Dateability Index for many of the gay TV characters currently wooing them on the small screen. Of course that inspired us to do the same thing.
Below we have listed lots of your favorite current lesbian/bi characters and measured their dateability on a scale of one to five Emily Fitches.
The Gold Standard
Practically perfect in every way.
Anne, Go On
Pros: Whip-smart successful lawyer, loyal and empathetic friend, can rock a power suit, very fond of books and boobs.
Cons: Still working through grief over wife's death, has no qualms about correcting your grammar.
Dateability Rating: 3.5 Emily Fitches — Take it slowly; she startles easily.
Betty McRae, Bomb Girls

We started out with 64 lesbian/bi TV/movie characters and after millions of votes were cast, AfterEllen readers have chosen Lost Girl's Dr. "Hot Pants" Lauren Lewis as the Best Lesbian/Bi Character ever. On her way to the championship, she took down South of Nowhere's Ashley Davies, Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Willow Rosenberg, The L Word's Bette Porter, Pretty Little Liars' Emily Fields, and Glee's Santana Lopez. When you stack the victories together like that, it sounds even more impressive. Congratulations to Lost Girl's passionate, unquenchable fandom.

Some of our favorite moments at AfterEllen HQ happen when we are reminded about the fictional lesbian origins of our favorite TV characters. We always get a kick out of remembering Jessica Capshaw as Bette Porter's lusty graduate student in The L Word. Or Bianca Lawson as a maybe-murdering lesbian psychopath on the super short-lived For the People. Yesterday, when we were whipping ourselves into a frenzy about the upcoming Lost Girl finale, we remembered that we'd seen Zoie Palmer play a lesbian before Dr. "Hot Pants" Lauren Lewis. In 2009, she made a brief appearance on the Canadian web series Seeing Simone.
Here, see for yourself:
I actually rewatched both seasons of the web series yesterday, and enjoyed it even more than I did the first time. I also went looking for some info about whether or not they're ever going to follow-up on season two's cliffhanger,...

Under normal circumstances – those being any circumstance that does not involve a megalomaniac scientist intent on dominating a secret ancient race of supernatural beings who has kidnapped your unwitting not-an-ex, just-on-a-break girlfriend because of her breakthrough biochemical research – I would say don’t break into your girlfriend’s apartment after she specifically asks you for space. But, luckily for Bo, these are not those circumstances. Though bringing your ex to help you save your maybe-not-quite ex is, um, an interesting touch.
So Bo breaks in with Dyson in tow only to find an empty apartment and Lauren’s Blackberry. Yeah, I know – I have no idea why anyone would leave her cellphone at home. I left mine there one day last week accidentally and I felt like I was missing my left arm all day at work. Shut up, it’s not an addiction. I can quit anytime I want.

Welcome to the AfterEllen March Madness: Best Lesbian/Bi Character Ever Final Four! Representing this round are two American TV characters, one Canadian TV character, and one British TV character! Or, adding up with slightly different math: One half-Canadian/half-British actress! One fully English actress! One half-Filipino/half-Scottish actress hailing from Canada! And one half-Puerto Rican/quarter-African American/quarter-German actress hailing from Southern California!
This competition has been a celebration of how far the lesbian/bi community has come in terms of media visibility. Five years ago, we didn't have enough characters to fill up these brackets. Today, we have hundreds of characters vying for 64 spots, millions of votes cast on behalf of your favorites, and our Final Four has landed us with a wonderfully diverse group of characters and actresses. What a remarkable thing we've accomplished here!

Welcome to the AfterEllen March Madness Sweet 16! What a long, strange, occasionally angry trip it has been! After two rounds of voting (and one million votes counted!) you have narrowed the field down to 16 of the sexiest, sweetest, smartest lesbian/bisexual characters ever!
Actually, you've narrowed it down to 15. After some hacker trouble with a match-up in the last round, we had to disqualify both Arizona Robbins and Bo Dennis. What that means is that Dr. "Hot Pants" Lauren Lewis gets an automatic berth into the Elite Eight! It also means that some people are trying to take the fun out of the game, so please don't do that anymore. This should be a celebration of how far we've come...

Oh, look, Bo’s in a blindfold. Mmmm, finally some kinky sexytimes for her and the good doctor. Wait, what’s that chirping noise? Are there vibrators that make a chirping noise? Dammit, it’s just some dumb good luck cricket. Well it’s very disappointing for all parties involved, especially me.
Bo continues her “training” for The Dawning. Though I think this task is more like the Fae equivalent of looking for a four-leaf clover. She fails, because have you ever tried to find a four-leaf clover? It’s hard. Everyone is a little cranky and exhausted because it’s all over but for the waiting of the invitation now.
Bo wishes Kenzi was with her to cheer her up with a perfectly timed zinger. But Trick’s all, “Humans, bad. Taint sacred Fae puberty ritual. Also, cooties.” Or something like that. I don’t know,...

As we reported earlier today, Lost Girl will be getting a forth season. We still have quite a bit of season three left and it’s shaping up to be a dynamic one. Here are a few things we at AfterEllen would like to see in the remaining episodes and in the upcoming fourth season.
1.) Doccubus continuing to rock our socksubus
Season 3 really kicked off with a bang in the Doccubus department. Make that many, many bangs. The chemistry is off the charts between Bo and Lauren, and its pretty amazing to see these women make a commitment to each other after two seasons of will they or won’t they. Their sex scenes have been intense, loving, and treated with the same respect as Bo’s previous scenes with Dyson. One of the beautiful things about Lost Girl, is that sexuality is a complete non issue.

Zoie Palmer's cat is on Twitter. That's how Dorothy Snarker sold Lost Girl to me. Later, I would fall in love with all the things AfterEllen.com readers love about the show: the female-fronted action, the legendery mythology, the leather, the love story, the way queer sexuality is never an issue, and, of course, Dr. Lauren Lewis' flawless brain and face. But in the beginning, all I knew was that the woman behind the show's unflappable lesbian doctor was an English-born, Canadian-raised Lgbt ally who let her cat have internet access.
Last week, Palmer chatted with me about good ol' Cloverblob, about the show's continued success in both Canada and the U.S., about the Doccubus victory in E! Online's TV's Top Couples poll, and about my decision to sort her character in Hogwarts' Hufflepuff house.

Sirens blare followed by the unmistakable click click click of the high-heeled boots of one very special, very naughty Succubus. Bo saunters out of a bank, large satchel at her side. Wait, holy crap, did Bo just rob a bank? Yeah, Lost Girl is back and it’s already breaking the law, breaking the law.

She dispatches the baddies with a few swift blows, but not before one of them commits the cardinal sin of slicing her face. Repeat after me, criminals of the world, not the face!

2012 was such a remarkable year for lesbian and bisexual women that we're already psyched on 2013. Here are 50 reasons why.
1. Gay weddings
Photo: David Ryder/Getty
With marriage equality becoming a reality in more and more states by the minute, it's going to be a good year for the men-loving-men and women-loving-women who have been waiting to say "I do." Some of them for their whole lives.
2. Homophobia isn't profitable anymore
Photo: Kenzo Tribouillard/Getty
This fact was learned the hard way by Boy Scouts of America when they lost funding from both the federal government and big businesses because they refused to accept gay scouts and leaders.
3. Kyrsten Sinema

The Arizona Democrat was the first openly bisexual woman to be elected to Congress. She will begin her first term this year.

You know the sign of a good relationship? When you begin lying to your best friend and/or your partner to keep it going smoothly. And, well, that’s what’s happening with both for Bo and her boytoy Ryan and Lauren and her girlfriend Nadia. Both are keeping significant secrets to keep their relationships going. But look at me being all, "Blah, blah, blah – healthy relationships, blah." I can practically hear you screaming, "No one wants to process the complex briar patch of emotional honesty right now. You saw Lauren practically naked, right?!" Right, indeed I did. Don’t worry, I’m totally getting to it. No post-coital glowy, sexytimes unbuttonedness escaped me, trust me.
Afterellen Bait
Um, I mentioned that we get to see Lauren in her unbuttoned shirt, right? And not once, but twice do we get to gaze upon the lovely, lovely that is Zoie Palmer’s exposed torso.

You may have heard of Syfy’s new show Lost Girl from Canadian friends, where the show has been running for two seasons, or from press releases and clips we’ve been showing you here on SciFi Mafia. Now, hear about it from the stars of the series. Anna Silk (Bo), Zoie Palmer (Lauren) and Kris Holden-Reid (Dyson) took some time to speak to the press about the Us premiere of their show.
Sci Fi Vision asked what we can expect from the new show:
Anna Silk: So, what we can expect in first season, I mean the first season really introduces the audience to Bo and her journey sort of going into this whole Fae world that you recently discovered that she’s a part of. And the different people she meets along the way in that first season, really become her sort of makeshift family in this world,...

Lost Girl Preview: Q&A with Anna Silk, Zoie Palmer and Kris Holden-Reid
Syfy fans should prepare for a most delicious treat as Canada's smash-hit action series, Lost Girl, makes its American debut tonight. Lost Girl is the story of Bo, a beautiful young Succubus thrust between divided factions of mystical Fae – a powerful species of beings that come in myriad forms and are able to appear as human.
Anna Silk plays series lead, Bo. Last week she, along with co-stars Kris Holden-Reid and Zoie Palmer, addressed the press regarding the show’s Us television premiere.
Kris Holden-Reid plays Dyson, a Wolf-Shifter police detective who introduces Bo to Fae society. In describing the two main factions he explains, "Light Fae try to live in a symbiotic relationship with humanity, while the Dark Fae are more interested in dominating humanity." Does that mean that the Light Fae are the good guys...

Canadian actress Zoie Palmer won over Lost Girl viewers as the insatiably curious human doctor, Dr. Lauren Lewis, the minute she picked up a clipboard. Since that moment her hand lingered a little too long on Bo’s back, Palmer’s Lauren has become a fan favorite for her calm, loyal, gentle demeanor and soft, expressive brown eyes. How could our resident succubus Bo (played by Anna Silk) not fall for her? But in the second season, complications have arisen in the form of Lauren’s girlfriend, Nadia, who is no longer in a coma.
The series, about the supernatural world of the Fae who hide and feed off humans and its bisexual succubus heroine who refuses to pick a side, is poised to break into the United States big-time when it premiers of the American cable network SyFy Jan. 16. On its Canadian home network Showcase, the series just completed...

No supernatural/sci-fi show worth its salt is complete without the requisite body swapping episode. Buffy the Vampire Slayer did it. Warehouse 13 did it. Xena: Warrior Princess did it. The X-Files did it. Charmed did it. Farscape did it. Doctor Who did it. Fringe did it. Heck, even Star Trek did it. I could go on forever.
So then you knew it was only a matter of time before that show about the society of uber-humanoids called the Fae who split themselves into Light and Dark and feed off humans while simultaneously hiding from them will do it. The only question is how well. The answer: Well, depends on which body you’re talking about. While body swap episodes tend to just be good, zany fun, Lost Girl mixed in some darkness and a big dose of relationship drama. Also, a really creepy kid.

Some things, some things are just worth the wait. For all of our complaining and whining and begging and pleading for some – heck, any – hot Doccubus action this season, when they finally did deliver, heavens, did they deliver. But before we get to all the delicious, delicious shirt stripping and pants pulling (you’ve waited this long, what’s a little longer), let’s roll up our sleeves and really talk about this episode. Because there is so much to talk about not even including the s-e-x. But, don’t worry – we are going to talk the hell out of that s-e-x. I mean, I can’t make you wait forever. That would just be mean. What am I, a Lost Girl writer?
Right, so this week we see the return of both The Morrigan and The Ash, both of whom seem hell-bent on messing up Bo’s love life with one Dr.

After this episode I felt the strange and sudden urge to grab a bullhorn and march down the middle of the street screaming, “No Hotpants! No peace!” Who is with me? An episode without Lauren is like Christmas without the presents. Sure, Santa is still technically there with his twinkly eyes and flying reindeer – but without the goodies to unwrap he’s kind of just an old guy who broke into your house. Not that Bo is old and I kind of wouldn’t mind it if she broke into my house. Not at all. Wait, I think I’ve gotten a little lost in my own metaphor. Point being, we want Dr. Lauren Lewis, and we want her now.
Afterellen Bait (What enticement did the episode use to reel in gay lady viewers?)
Bo and Kenzi’s friendship continues to be one of the best things about this show.

Meaningful looks. Gentle touches. Tina Fey puns. This episode almost makes up for the lack of Doccubus action in the first two episodes – almost. But first, we have a little spring cleaning to attend to in the Casa Bonzi. Bo is serious about washing that wolf right out of her apartment. Kenzi finds herself a house Fae to help. And Lauren, well, she’s just yummy. Brew yourself a big pot of coffee, you’ll want to stay awake for this one. No, really, don’t fall asleep because that crazy-ass dream sucker will go all reverse cowgirl on you – and not in a good way.

I want to find whoever keeps getting these super low-cut tank tops for Anna Silk to wear and kiss her (or even him) on the lips. I mean it. Also...
