The story of the raunchy 2016 animated film “Sausage Party” will continue in a new animated sequel series coming to Amazon Prime Video in 2024 called “Sausage Party: Footopia.” The “eight-course television event” will find original cast members Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz and Edward Norton all returning to reprise their roles, and is already in production.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the eight-episode series will also feature the voices of Will Forte, Sam Richardson, Natasha Rothwell and Yassir Lester, with Ariel Shaffir and Kyle Hunter (“Future Man”) – who co-wrote the 2016 film with Rogen and Evan Goldberg – executive producing and serving as showrunners.
“Sausage Party: Foodtopia” hails from Annapurna Television, Sony Pictures Television, Amazon Studios and Point Grey Pictures.

The main benefit of Future Man being a TV show instead of a movie is time. Additional time to build out characters, to flesh out the show’s time travel rules, and to allow for several different realities and reversals of roles. It’s why we got the two best episodes of the show so far, which are almost wholly contained…

There’s an odd contradiction at the heart of Future Man: The show is trying to do a plot straight out of an ’80s sci-fi movie, in a world where the characters know about and can play off of those conventions. That means that sometimes the show can have its cake and eat it too, but it also means that Future Man …

Even though Future Man could send its characters anywhere in time and space, one of the show’s best episodes so far is also the closest thing it’s had to a bottle episode, taking place almost entirely in the Futturman house. Most of “A Fuel’s Errand” is sort of like a compressed second act, hitting beats that the movie version of Future Man might have gotten to after an hour or so. Future Man was originally intended as a movie, and it shows: each episode manages to mostly hit one beat of a story that’s pretty easy to imagine as a 90-minute film. In this case, “A Riphole In Time” focuses on one of the lamer beats that tends to populate the type of movie Future Man is cribbing from: the hero’s…

Mary-Louise Parker Alludes to Billy Crudup Breakup: Musings on Men from Her New Memoir, Dear Mr. You
Mary-Louis Parker is telling it like it is.
In her new memoir, titled Dear Mr. You, Parker, 51, pens 34 letters to men who have made an impression on her life. From her father to the doctor who helped save her life, Parker chronicles her various encounters with the opposite sex – including a few ex-boyfriends, none of whom she actually calls out by name.
But this hasn't stopped readers from trying to pinpoint the famous men and moments in Parker's life – including her tumultuous relationship with Billy Crudup.
Although Parker never names Crudup, speculation has intensified that the chapter "Dear Cabdriver" alludes to their relationship.

Hulu has called dibs on a half-hour sci-fi comedy pilot coming from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, The Hollywood Reporter writes. Titled Future Man, the show, according to the trade, would involve a janitor who moonlights as a world-ranked video-gamer "tasked with preventing the extinction of humans after mysterious visitors from the future declare him to be the key to defeating the imminent super-race invasion" — so, imagine Pixels and Good Will Hunting came together and had a baby for a streaming service. Interesting. Deadline adds that the pilot was originally constructed as a feature script a few years ago, but was tweaked after further consideration. Rogen and Goldberg will produce and direct the project, which was written by Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir (The Interview, This Is the End).

Hulu will add another title to its burgeoning original series library. The streaming video platform has ordered the pilot for a dystopian comedy series called Future Man from actor Seth Rogen and producer-director Evan Goldberg.
Future Man tells the story of a janitor, who’s a world-ranked video gamer at night, and his quest to save the human race after visitors from the future tell him he’s the only one who can stop an impending super-race invasion. Deadline notes Matt Tolmach Productions originally purchased the script for Future Man as a movie. Tolmach brought on Rogen and Goldberg, who have frequently collaborated on together on projects like This Is the End and the The Interview (which was digitally released after terrorists threatened to bomb theaters showing the movie). Eventually, the three Hollywood creators decided Future Man’s story was better suited for TV.

Chris Evans, along with most of the other original Avengers stars are most likely not going to come back for more films after Avengers: Infinity War-Part 2. There have been rumors about replacing the characters with new actors, such as having Sam Wilson, Aka the Falcon (Anthony Mackie) take over, as was done in the Marvel comic. But would this work? Would people accept a new Cap? There’s a way to test out the public’s tolerance for a replacement actor, and the Agent Carter TV show is the place to do it.

"Matrix" directors Lana and Andy Wachowski, along with "Run Lola Run" filmmaker Tom Tykwer, have crafted a big, tasty slice of Wtf pie in the form of their new movie epic "Cloud Atlas." The film breaks boundaries both in its narrative (interweaving six separate stories of different genres) and through its performers (the actors play multiple roles of different age, race and gender), all the while somehow remaining not just coherent but wildly entertaining. Who'd a thunk it?

Stan Lee’s Superhumans features only a meager dose of the comic medium’s foremost impresario and all-around geezer. The show is held together by the flimsy premise of Stan Lee letting loose Daniel Browning Smith - “the world's most flexible man” – to scour the globe for “superhumans”. Their powers (and our interest) fluctuate between "Ultra Marathon Man," whose body subverts fatigue and keeps him on the go permanently, and "Future Man," a purported future-seer whose segment is frustratingly inconclusive.
These are two of the thirty-two individuals (all male – it’s true, there’s no female superhumans in the world, I checked) we meet across eight episodes in Season 1 of this History Channel-produced show. Stan Lee shows up to bridge gaps and introduce where Smith will be heading to next, and to close out the segment. That’s all well and good, but beside these essential cameos, what does...

Juliette Lewis and Ellen Page in Whip It!
Photo: Fox Searchlight Picture Drew Barrymore's directorial debut is a success as Whip It takes "girl power" and turns it into a healthy dose of fun. While I wouldn't say Barrymore has any kind of distinct flair or style to her work just yet, she chose a perfect starter project for her first time out and it looks like they had a blast putting it together.
