A little more than a year after the death of Naomi Judd, a couple dozen of her friends and admirers are saluting her and daughter Wynonna on an upcoming album of songs by the Judds. A Tribute to the Judds, due out Oct. 27, will find Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, LeAnn Rimes, Jelly Roll, and many others singing 14 songs made famous by the mother-daughter duo.

The 56th annual CMA Awards made its grand return to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, honoring musical legends, showcasing emerging artists and highlighting collaborations all while celebrating excellence within country music. Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning hosted.
Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire and Carrie Underwood opened the show with with a tribute to Loretta Lynn performing classics that included “You Ain’t Woman Enough,” “Don’t Come Home A-Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ on Your Mind),” and “You’re Looking At Country” before concluding with all three coming together to perform “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” Carly Pearce was joined by Musician of the Year winner Jenee Fleenor, Sonya Isaacs and Ricky Skaggs to perform Pearce’s original song, “Dear Miss Loretta.”

The 2022 CMA Awards were a mostly predictable affair with a few pleasant little surprises — and we’re so grateful for it. Between the maelstrom known as Ye, the upending of the already chaotic Twitter, and the high stakes of the midterms, there’s enough wacky shit afoot without having to endure some stupid drama unfolding on country music’s biggest night. There are two places where country hitmaker Josh Turner no doubt feels most at home. One is in the realm of gospel music and the other is the Grand Ole Opry. Josh Turner, whose 2003 debut single “Long Black Train” was a nod to his gospel-music roots, will release a full-length album showcasing songs of faith next month. Due out October 26th, the South Carolina native’s I Serve a Savior will include hand-picked hymns, new original material and live versions of Turner’s inspirational tunes.”
Also of special note is a live version of “The River (of Happiness),” a song written by Turner’s wife Jennifer and their eldest son, 11-year-old Hampton. The track also features vocal assistance from all four of the Turners’ young sons.

Love the country music featured weekly on ABC's new series "Nashville"? If so, you will be ecstatic to learn that Big Machine Records will release an official soundtrack for the show on Dec. 11. The album will feature new music performed by the cast and produced by T Bone Burnett, Dann Huff and Michael Knox.
It's not like this is the first time fans from "Nashville" can get hold of music from the series -- digital downloads of music from the series already total more than 500,000. With the series just picked up for a full season and this soundtrack announcement, the future certainly looks bright for the country music-filled drama series.
The album includes 11 full tracks performed by "Nashville" actors Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere, Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson, Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio.
