While pregnancy is touted as one of the most beautiful aspects of life, the journey toward the reward of a bouncing baby is not always smooth. Although considered one of the most "natural" things in the world, the act of pregnancy has symptoms that are strange, physically and emotionally draining, and even life-or-death. There's a user on TikTok referred to as "The Girl with the List" who keeps a list of currently over 300 ways pregnancy and childbirth can ravage your body and mind: making you sick, stretching your skin, feeling like sharp pains in your back, swelling your ankles, losing your hair, weakening your nails, and on and on.
There's something very unsettling about a whole other person growing and moving inside you, absorbing your nutrients, changing who you are inside and out, and then being expelled from your body — sometimes in a violent manner. It's no wonder the horror...

There's quite a few people out there who still have unfinished business with Joe Goldberg, and one of them is Ellie from season two of "You." On June 17, Netflix released an early teaser video for "You" season five during the streamer's annual Tudum fan event in Brazil. In the video, Penn Badgley hints the show's final season could feature some surprising guest stars - and one of them might just be Jenna Ortega of "Wednesday" fame.
"Hola, Brazil!" Badgley says at the start of the video. "I've heard you're on the edge of your seats waiting and theorizing about the epic conclusion to 'You.' More importantly, you're considering what, or should I say who, Joe will come up against as he finally returns to New York. Though I can't say who just yet, we all know there are many loose ends from Joe's past. The question is, 'Who are you?...

Practically since his career began, LeBron James has been not merely a great basketball player but a media industry generating a seemingly endless array of products.
The latest example is this new Peacock original film based on his 2009 memoir co-written with Buzz Bissinger (Friday Night Lights), recounting the story of his early years and friendship with his high school teammates known as the “Fab Four,” later expanded to become the “Fab Five.” The story was already told in the 2008 documentary More Than a Game, but that won’t stop the Goat’s fans from wanting to see this lovingly rendered adaptation that covers all the early career highlights, albeit sometimes in sanitized form.
The story begins with James (Marquis “Mookie” Cook, a top-ranked amateur basketball player making an impressive screen debut) playing in a youth league in Akron, Ohio, along with his three best friends: Lil Dru (Caleb McLaughlin, Stranger...

"He can win you a state championship - guaranteed." NBC's Peacock has revealed a main official trailer for a film titled Shooting Stars, a docu-drama event about LeBron's high school days. This looks way better than most are probably expecting. Based on the book by LeBron James & the Pulitzer Prize winning author of Friday Night Lights, Buzz Bissinger, Shooting Stars is the inspiring origin story of a legendary basketball superhero, revealing how LeBron James and his childhood friends become the #1 high school team in the country. This early fete would launch James’s breathtaking career as a four-time NBA Champion, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. The film stars Wood Harris, newcomer Marquis "Mookie" Cook as a young LeBron, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalie Paul, Algee Smith, with Dermot Mulroney, Khalil Everage, Sterling "Scoot" Henderson, Katlyn Nichol, and Avery S. Wills Jr. This looks crazy good!

While we wait for Nanny to debut on Amazon Prime Video on December 16 – it’s first coming to select theaters on November 23 – director Nikyatu Jusu has set up her next project.
Deadline reports that Jusu will be directing a feature length adaptation of her vampire short film Suicide By Sunlight for Jordan Peele‘s company, Monkeypaw Productions.
“My project with Monkeypaw is an expansion of a short film I made called Suicide by Sunlight,” Jusu says, “about day-walking Black vampires who are protected from the sun by their melanin.”
Deadline also notes, “… the original piece, set in a near-future New York City, more specifically tells the story of Valentina (Natalie Paul), who finds it difficult to suppress her bloodlust when a new woman is introduced to her estranged twin daughters.”
Jusu is writing the feature film screenplay with Fredrica Bailey.
Suicide By Sunlight is part of Monkeypaw’s overall deal with Universal Pictures.

Following its initial release on AT&T Audience Network back in 2019, the entire third season of Mr. Mercedes (based on Stephen King's Bill Hodges trilogy) is coming to Peacock on March 4th, joining the first two seasons on the streaming service:
Press Release: Based on the best-selling Bill Hodges trilogy by Stephen King, Mr. Mercedes returns for its much-anticipated third season. When beloved local author John Rothstein is found murdered, Hodges, Holly, and Jerome, along with local police, must track down his killer. But this case is more complex than the cold-blooded killing of an American icon. Unpublished novels of Rothstein’s were stolen from his home, and they are worth millions. As the case unfolds, the trio learns that although Brady Hartsfield may be gone, his depravity lives on in the lives of his victims.
Season three of Mr. Mercedes premieres on Thursday, March 4 on Peacock. All 10 episodes will drop at once.

Mr. Mercedes has found a new home in NBCUniversal’s recently launched premium streaming platform, Peacock.
The move to Peacock yields a new lease on life for Mr. Mercedes, the Stephen King adaptation crime series, which started life in 2017 as a broadcast offering on the AT&T-owned, DirecTV-exclusive Audience Network, only to be left derelict with an uncertain future after the channel’s dissolution this past January. With the move—announced on Sept. 21, King’s birthday, of all days—Mr. Mercedes Seasons 1 and 2 will be bingeable on Peacock starting on October 15. That premiere will eventually be followed by the show’s most recent outing, 2019’s Season 3, which will arrive on a date to be announced.
The series, which operates under a prolific creator/showrunner in David E. Kelley, adapts King’s novel trilogy—2014’s Mr. Mercedes, 2015’s Finders Keepers and 2016’s End of Watch—into a serialized format. The...

Pregnancy is already not treating Valerie (Natalie Paul) well by the time she and her doting husband Tom (Michael Cassidy) meet fellow mother-to-be Jenny (Tina Majorino) at a crunchy yoga class (mama-ste!). She’s been ill, had to take a leave of absence from work, and is wholly disinterested in finding out the baby’s gender. Even more worrisome, her phone won’t stop buzzing, and the mix of fear and shame that accompanies every text and call from “Riley” seems to send her down a new rabbit hole. When the peppy Jenny asks her what she’s most looking forward to, Valerie has a litany of ideas: getting her body back, not puking so much, going back to work — oh, and something about the baby, maybe?
Sure, yeah, the baby will be neat, too.

God Friended Me has been canceled by CBS.
It's sad, but it's true.
The two-hour series finale is slated to air Sunday, April 26, and we're not prepared to say goodbye.
The official trailer teases some high-stakes moments that would make many people believe this is a planned conclusion.
Given the way the cast has reacted to the news, it certainly seems like these final two episodes were constructed to set up a potential third season.
What we can tell from the clip is that Cory allowed the God Account to be destroyed thanks to the virus, meaning that the gang has just one friend suggestion remaining.
On a show filled with happy moments, it's hard to imagine the account not being restored in some capacity.
Then again, a wild development could have been planned to shake the show up for a potential third season.

The Nielsen ratings still matter, even on basic cable. Last year, USA Network went to great pains to state that The Sinner was an eight-episode, close-ended series. Then the Jessica Biel-led "limited event" grabbed better ratings than all of USA's other original, scripted TV series, and surprise surprise, it was renewed for a second season. Although Bill Pullman is returning, his Detective Harry Ambrose will be investigating a new crime. Can it reel the summertime audience back in? Will The Sinner be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A USA crime drama, season two of The Sinner stars Pullman, Carrie Coon, Natalie Paul, Elisha Henig, and Hannah Gross. It follows Detective Ambrose, as he returns to his rural New York hometown, to work a case in which an 11-year-old boy, with no known motive, killed his parents.

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers for the Season 2 finale of “The Sinner.”]
This season of “The Sinner” began with a boy murdering two people who appeared to be his parents and then concluded by upending the picture-perfect image of a man who was supposed to be a model father. The challenges of parenting, the hopes a parent has for their offspring, and the ways in which children could be damaged by those who raise them all came to a head in the finale, which exposed a few more secrets while still leaving some lingering questions.
Perhaps the most horrifying revelations, however, involved Marin (Hannah Gross), whom last we saw dead from a gunshot wound on the grounds of the First Nations reservation. It turns out that she had met up with Jack (Tracy Letts), the father of her former best friend and cop Heather (Natalie Paul). An argument and struggle ensued, and her gun went off, accidentally killing her.

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from “The Sinner” Season 2, Episode 7, “Part VII” and theories about the upcoming finale.]
Just like last year, “The Sinner” spent its penultimate episode of the season in a lengthy flashback to reveal answers to many of the questions that had been spun out from the beginning. “Part VII” revealed that not only was Marin (Hannah Gross) still alive, but that she was indirectly responsible for the mess everybody is currently in, including her son Julian (Elisha Henig) poisoning two Mosswood members with tea brewed with Jimsonweed.
The revelations actually begin a few days prior to Julian’s fateful act. While Marin has left her son behind to be raised at Mosswood, in the intervening years she tried and often failed to deal with some of her issues, whether it meant taking drugs, going into rehab, or finding religion. When she had finally gotten what peace she can, she returns to Mosswood not to do “the work,...

Over a decade ago, long before he launched the HBO series “Random Acts of Flyness,” multimedia artist Terence Nance and a cadre of like-minded black artists launched Mvmt, a Brooklyn-based production company focused on producing stories about black women. In the wake of “Flyness” landing a second season at HBO, Nance spoke to IndieWire about the company’s growing mission, and its plans to support “Flyness” writer-director Naima Ramos-Chapman’s second short film — a psycho-surrealist thriller titled “Piu Piu.”

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from “The Sinner” Season 2, Episode 3, “Part III.”]
“The Sinner” has been known to feature any number of disturbing scenes, but Wednesday’s episode also included a sequence that was more baffling than anything else.
In the scene, Emmy nominee Carrie Coon cycles through a series of emotions with only a giant rock as her scene partner. As Vera Walker, a concerned mother whose son has been accused of murder, she turns to a means of solace that others in her commune, Mosswood Grove, use. She appears to be doing what looks to be yoga at first, alternating cat-cow pose with breath work, but then she also begins to cry and wail. When she’s done, she walks over to the towering rock and then puts her hands on it.
IndieWire turned to showrunner Derek Simonds for answers to this mysterious behavior.

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from “The Sinner” Season 2, Episode 2, “Part II.”]
In its second week, “The Sinner” adds another mystery behind the initial murder that piqued the interest of Det. Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman): an enigmatic commune called Mosswood, where Vera Walker (Carrie Coon) leads and lives with a group of people. She also claims she’s the real mother of Julian (Elisha Henig), the 13-year-old boy who poisoned two people posing as his parents… but they may have been actually trying to escape Mosswood before drinking that fateful cup of tainted tea.
It’s not entirely clear what the commune does based on an initial visit, but Vera says it’s a sanctuary community that accepts everyone — as long as they abide by specific rules that have not yet been revealed to viewers. Also, members must do “the work,” which she describes as “to shine a light on inner shadow […] and encounter parts inside you.

Detective Harry Ambrose is back on the case in Season 2 of the USA Network anthology The Sinner, which returned on Wednesday night. While Season 1 of the drama focused on Jessica Biel’s Cora Tannetti, a young mother who committed a seemingly random act of murder, the second go-round is focused on Julian (Alex, Inc.‘s Elisha Henig), a 13-year-old boy who kills his parents on the way to Niagara Falls.

The first season of USA psychological crime thriller “The Sinner” took its story, structure and tone from Petra Hammesfahr’s novel. But the second season is its own, completely original mystery.
Without a pre-existing plot to follow, Derek Simonds created a new story about why someone would commit a seemingly unprovoked murder. This time the culprit is a 13-year-old boy Julian (played by Elisha Henig), and it’s clear from the start that he is guilty. The show follows the first season’s structure of unraveling the complicated reasons behind the crime, a similarity Simonds wanted to echo intentionally.
“We felt like we hit the right sweet spot between a character-driven drama and a hopefully elevated genre piece,” Simonds tells Variety.
One of his top priorities, he says, is focusing on the psychological aspects of the investigation by Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman), who is called back to his hometown...

The first season of USA’s The Sinner was a big surprise — who knew that Jessica Biel had that kind of raw and powerful dramatic performance in her? The second season (premiering Aug. 1st) will either be much less or even more of a surprise, depending on whether you’ve heard of the anthology drama’s new leading lady, Carrie Coon.

There were a lot of reasons to doubt “The Sinner” Season 2. The source material for the first season — Petra Hammesfahr’s book of the same name — was all used up in the original, Emmy-nominated incarnation. Its star, Jessica Biel, moved on and took most of the characters driving a story about a woman who inexplicably stabbed a stranger on the beach with her. Starting over with just a genre (mystery), theme (murder with a hidden motive), and a supporting character (Bill Pullman’s detective) isn’t exactly enough to guarantee continued success.
Yet creator Derek Simonds assembled a helluva team for an intriguing follow-up season. The first three episodes of Season 2 match the tone and intensity of the writer’s gripping debut, while new cast members Tracy Letts, Natalie Paul, and Carrie Coon more than make up for any holes left by the original cast. HBO’s upcoming late-night series Random Acts of Flyness from artist Terence Nance is set to debut its six-episode season on Aug. 3. The show will air every Friday at midnight Et/Pt and give a new, thought-provoking perspective on cultural idioms such as patriarchy, white supremacy, and, as shown in the video below, sensuality.
A fluid, mind-melting stream-of-conscious response to the contemporary American mediascape, each episode of Random Acts of Flyness will feature interconnected vignettes that makes the series a unique mix of vérité documentary, musical performances, surrealist melodrama and humorous animation. Nance has collaborated with a cast of emerging talent to explore themes such as ancestral trauma, history, death, the singularity, and romance to give audiences something never seen before. Nance, who is known for his envelope-pushing films seen at Sundance, describes the series as “a show about the beauty and ugliness of contemporary American life.”

Biel — who led the inaugural season of USA’s drama as a wife and mother who brutally murders a man out of the blue one day — will remain onboard as an executive producer but not appear in the show’s sophomore season. Watch the new trailer below.
Coon is starring as Vera, “a formidable, mysterious woman who struggles between upholding the ideals of the community she leads and fulfilling her own desires,” with Letts as the father of a rookie detective. Returning to the show is Bill Pullman, whose character is a longtime friend of Letts’.
Per the synopsis, Pullman’s troubled detective will be returning to his hometown in rural New York to “assess...

USA Network has released a new trailer for The Sinner, which features the first footage of new cast member Tracy Letts, who joins his wife Carrie Coon in the upcoming second season.
Letts plays Jack Novack, father of rookie detective Heather Novack and childhood friend of Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman). Jack is excited that Ambrose is returning to their hometown for a new case but is still hurt by his lack of effort to maintain their friendship after his departure.

“The Sinner” is back this summer, and once again, we know who committed the crime, but not why.
Elisha Henig plays an 11-year-old who murders his parents in rural New York with no apparent motive — although the trailer hints that perhaps his parents weren’t the best parents.
Bill Pullman plays Det. Harry Ambrose, who is in charge of the case that reveals some hidden darkness about his hometown. Carrie Coon plays Vera, a mysterious woman who will stop at nothing to protect the town’s secrets. USA also revealed a first look at Tracy Letts playing Jack Novak, a childhood friend of Ambrose’s (see below).
