The Rolling Stones are set to be immortalized on television in a new limited series for FX from the team behind The Crown.
The Sticky Fingers rockers are for the first time allowing their music to be used for a drama. FX boss John Landgraf said that they are in advanced talks for the project, which will be written by High Fidelity author Nick Hornby, and is set for a two season order.
The high-end series will focus on the band’s glory years between its formation through to 1972, which includes a fantastic run of hit albums such as Their Satanic Majesties Request, Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street.

Remember Gotham on Fox?
Well, we're getting a do-over. Sort of.
This one could be more expansive and inclusive than we've ever imagined, and it will span small and big screen adaptations.
HBO Max announced today that it has given a series commitment to an original DC drama set in the Gotham City police department from The Batman filmmaker Matt Reeves, Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter, The Batman producer Dylan Clark, and Warner Bros. Television.
That's right, Reeves' upcoming Batman movie has already scored a series spinoff. That means the world is something they are really interested in exploring. Again.
The groundbreaking television series, to be written by Winter, is set in the world Reeves is creating for The Batman feature film and will build upon the motion picture’s examination of the anatomy of corruption in Gotham City, ultimately launching a new Batman universe across multiple platforms.

FX has put in development drama Trashers, loosely based on Rich Cohen’s The Atlantic article “The Mobster Who Bought his Son a Hockey Team” from The Expanse executive producer Dan Nowak, Deadline has learned.
Written by Nowak, the potential series Trashers follows a minor league hockey team owned by a small town trash hauler with mob ties.
FX would not comment.
Cohen’s article The Mobster Who Bought His Son A Hockey Team appeared in the May 2018 issue of The Atlantic. It’s described by the publication as “A tale of goons, no-show jobs, and a legendary minor-league franchise that helped land its owner in prison.” It’s the story of Jimmy Galante, a convicted felon and associate of the Genovese crime family and owner of the defunct Danbury Trashers minor league hockey team. Galante also is the former CEO of Automated Waste Disposal, which holds waste disposal contracts...
