Matthew J. Christian
- Actor
Matthew J. Christian was born on February 9th 1973 to Arthur and Helen
Christian. At a young age Matthew's parents noticed that he had a lisp
and immediately enrolled him into a speech class to help him with his
pronunciation. Only one year later, Matthew portrayed his first role,
at the fledgling age of 5, as a Shepherd boy in his church's Christmas
pageant. That was the time the acting bug bit Matthew, and from there,
led him down the artists road to becoming what is commonly know as an
actor. Matthew started taking acting classes in his Middle School years
and through High School. After graduation Matthew started performing at
a local community theater and there he met his mentor and friend Gerald
Miller. After learning that Miller had gone to school and earned his
M.A. from S.M.S.U and in his internship, had helped teach both John
Goodman and Kathleen Turner, Matthew absorbed all the knowledge and
learned all that he had to offer. After studying under Miller's
guidance, Matthew started to acquire roles anywhere from the ingénue,
to the heavy. As time past and the roles became bigger and better
Matthew was given the chance to stretch himself as an actor and
continually hone his craft as a thespian. After several years of
performing in front of the footlights, Matthew decided to give film a
chance. He associated himself with a local movie making group and has
now stepped from the theater stage, yet keeping grounded to his theater
roots, to perform within the frame of the camera's eye.
