- Born and raised on a farm in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, she was a self-described tomboy who liked sports and hanging out with her three brothers.
- Launched her own clothing line in February 2004.
- Opening her 61st boutique in Honolulu's Waikiki [November 2011].
- Graduated from the University of Philadelphia with a degree in art history, then moved to New York and worked in public relations and advertising for designers, including Vera Wang and Ralph Lauren.
- Has 3 sons with her ex-second husband Christopher Burch: twins Henry and Nicholas Burch (b. 1997) and Sawyer Burch (b. February 2001).
- Attended the Agnes Irwin School in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
- Her first fashion internship after graduating college was with the Yugoslav-born designer Zoran which was arranged for her by her mother Reva Robinson. She followed that with stints in the Ralph Lauren publicity department, then at Vera Wang and then at Narciso Rodriguez.
