Giovanni C. Lorusso is a filmmaker and photographer with a background in literature (BA Arts, Rome 2003 - MA Litt, Rome 2005) and philosophy (MA Phil, London 2009) and 12 years work experience as a cinematographer for productions around Asia, Oceania, Africa, Middle East and recently Europe (with works premiered in Venice, Berlin, Rotterdam).
His most recent research spans between photography and filmmaking, with the self-publication of 3 books in 2021: The Limits of Rupture, on the aftermath of August 2020 explosion in Beirut, Lebanon - VOCI, experimental analog work - Keep Fire Burning, a photographic work originally produced in Johannesburg in 2018. And the making of 4 feature length films in Johannesburg, Banjul and Beirut.
Giovanni is an accredited member of the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS).
