Stephen McLoughlin(I)

Stephen Edward McLoughlin was an Irish-born (Nov. 9, 1953) Canadian
television writer who specialized in comedy writing. While still a
student at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, he wrote for "You
Can't Do That on Television" and Global TV's "Sshh...it's the News",
also credited as "And That's the News...Goodnight!" (various episodes
1974-76.) Later on, he wrote for other television series, including the
animated "Teddy Ruxpin". Stephen became a much sought-after writer of
industrial videos, comedy monologues and television treatments, while
working as a consultant in information systems and communications. He
married Ingrid Berger (1977) and had two daughters, Siobhan and Sinead.
He died on May 13, 2001 at the age of 47 of kidney cancer. He is
survived by his one brother and four sisters, and his father. The
Stephen E. McLoughlin Memorial Foundation was created in his honor, to
help children at risk.
