Last week, PBS Digital Studios (Pbsds) announced it had partnered with the Interactive Engagement Group of PBS-owned New York news station Wnet to produce the Lgbtq-themed web series First Person. Now, the two companies have debuted the first episode called “Trans 2.0” featuring YouTuber Skylar Kergil.
The premiere episode of First Person shows viewers the story of Kergil, who started documenting his transgender journey back in 2009 on YouTube. The artist tells First Person host and Everyone Is Gay founder Kristin Russo how he didn’t necessarily intend to become a voice for the trans community, but found that’s where his vlogging took him. Kergil currently boasts over 64,000 subscribers on his channel.
In addition to Kergil, First Person will profile other Lgbtq-related personalities like Kate Fagan, an Espn correspondent, and fashion icon Nicolette Mason. The series is produced by Russo and Meredith Heil, and Wnet Interactive Engagement Group’s Daniel B. Greenberg...
