Serbian producer Nataša Damnjanović (pictured, top) started out as an editor, and since she founded the production company Dart Film together with Vladimir Vidić in 2006, she is still doing the editing on most of their films as well.
Damnjanović trained at Sarajevo and Berlinale Talents, Torino FilmLab and Eave, and first produced Nikola Ljuca’s short Sergeant in 2010 (which competed at Tampere), as well three shorts by Dane Komljen - A Surplus of Wind (2014), Our Body (2015), and All Still Orbit (2016), which screened at Locarno, Rotterdam, and Sarajevo.

Titles to include world premiere of The Summer of Frozen Fountains.
The 19th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (Nov 13-29) is spotlighting Georgian cinema for its 19th edition, including the world premiere of Vano Burduli’s The Summer of Frozen Fountains, which plays in competition.
A retrospective, stretching back to 1929, includes 14 titles such as Tengiz Abuladze’s 1977 drama The Wishing Tree.
Mikheil Giorgadze, Georgia’s Minister of Culture and Monument Protectorate of Georgia, discussed the complexities of both Georgia and Estonia’s film industry in a speech at the opening ceremony on Friday (Nov 13).
“It is particularly emotional for me that Georgian film is represented at this prestigious festival in Estonia as our countries are connected with special relations and common history,” said Giorgadze.
“I often say that culture is the language used for dialogue between civilised, developed societies. One brilliant example of inter-cultural cooperation is the Georgian-Estonian film Tangerines [featured in the Forum section]. It is only the beginning.”

Estonia’s Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (Nov 13-29) has revealed the international competition line-up for its 19th edition.
The festival will screen 18 titles in competition, comprising seven world premieres, three international premieres and eight European premieres.
Among them is Vitaliy Manskiy’s North Korea documentary Under The Sun, which reveals a simultaneously absurd and sinister portrayal of life under the nation’s regime.
The line-up also includes three submissions for this year’s Best Foreign-Language Film Oscar.

New films by award-winning Ukrainian director Myroslav Slaboshpytskiy (The Tribe), documentary filmmaker Vitaly Mansky (Pipeline) and Lithuania’s Sharunas Bartas (Freedom) are among over two dozen projects being presented at the Odessa International Film Festival’s industry section, the Film Industry Office (Fio, July 14-17).
Bartas’ drama Frost, which is being structured as a co-production between Ukraine, Lithuania and France, tells the story of a young Lithuanian’s experiences as he drives his truck with humanitarian aid from Vilnius to Ukraine.
The $936,000 (€850,000) production by Odessa-based Truman Production is one of ten feature film projects competing for a prize to be judged by a jury made up of the producers Guillaume de Seille, Raymond van der Kaaij and Anna Katchko as well as Meetings on the Bridge chief Gülin Üstün.
