Mommy is the story of Diane “Die” Després (Anne Dorval), a Quebec widow who, at the beginning of the film, collects her son Steve (Antoine-Olivier Pilon) from a care home. Steve is a dropout and a delinquent, it seems, but soon we learn that he suffers from an extreme case of Adhd, which poses greater and greater and problems for Diane. A radiant tale of courage, love and friendship, here’s your first look at director Xavier Dolan’s Mommy.
A feisty widowed single mom finds herself burdened with the full-time custody of her unpredictable 15-year-old Adhd son. As they struggle to make ends meet, Kyla, the peculiar new neighbor across the street, offers her help. Together, they find a new sense of balance, and hope is regained.
From the director of I Killed My Mother, Mommy stars Anne Dorval, Antoine-Olivier Pilon, Suzanne Clement, Alexandre Goyette, and Patrick Huard.
So how do Nolan’s two films differ?
“There are several parallel lines to be drawn between my first movie and Mommy. But only on the surface.”
“As far as I’m concerned, from direction to tone, acting style to visuals, those two films are two different planets. One unfolds through the eyes of a whimsical teenager, the other contemplates a mother’s hardships.

Production on the upcoming film Le sens de l'humour has been over since last month. While no trailer isn't available, we've got a visit on the set of this film. Moreover, Le sens de l'humour will be released in Quebec on July 8, 2011.
This film is the second collaboration between Michel Côté, Louis-José Houde and director Émile Gaudreault. In fact, we remember them for having worked together on the comedy De père en flic, which holds the box office record for the most profitable Canadian film in Canada (not the world, mind you) with $11 million.
The story follows two comedians who decide to work together. Needless to say that these two guys will have success. One day, they make fun of a member of the audience. However, that person turns out to be a serial killer.
Finally, the film also stars Anne Dorval, Pierrette Robitaille, Benoît Brière, Zaccari-Charles Jobin, Luc Senay,...

Die hard fans of Patrick Senécal and movie goers alike will definitely like Les 7 jours du talion . Indeed, this is by far the best adaptation of a work from Canada's own Stephen King. However, if you have a weak stomach, avoid this film at all cost because of its very graphic scenes of violence.
