Exclusive: Motion Picture Agent Olive Uniacke has exited the agency.
She was hired in September 2018 having previously been a producer at 42Mp and then a studio executive at Lionsgate.
At the agency, she signed such writer/director clients as Andrew Patterson, whose movie The Vast of Night world premiered at Slamdance 2019 and was later acquired out of TIFF by Amazon. She also signed May el-Toukhy, whose movie Queen of Hearts made its world premiere at 2019 Sundance.
When the pandemic hit, Uniacke shifted gears, focusing on musicians, actors and entrepreneurs whose businesses she could build while the world was shut down.
Uniacke was an integral part of the WME teams involved in building the production labels of such clients as Tessa Thompson (Viva Maude), Oscar Isaac (Mad Gene), and Riz Ahmed (Left Handed Films), as well as filmmakers like Bassam Tariq (Mogul Mowgli), Sam Hunter, as well as Patrick Sommerville and David Eisenberg’s Tractor Beam.

Best Actor Oscar nominee Brendan Fraser (“The Whale”) recently had a candid chat with Gold Derby’s Christopher Rosen about his character of Charlie who, despite being a 600-pound-man, still finds beauty in life. During the interview he heaped praises on his Oscar-nominated co-star Hong Chau, claiming at one point, “I needed only to look into Hong’s eyes and just try and reflect the authenticity she has on board to work with. Hong has an uncanny ability to say more in between lines of dialogue, in the pauses. You can read her mind.”
Fraser goes into depth conversation with Rosen on the three-week rehearsal process on the A24 film, including a snippet of the costume and make-up process, and how, “I’m 53 years old. I’ve been doing this for a long time. I still don’t know the components of the voodoo alchemy that goes into giving an...

Ten years ago, Queen Elizabeth II and Daniel Craig had one of the most memorable Olympics moments ever at the opening ceremony for the 2012 London Games, and the queen’s family had no idea she was going to be a part of it.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the London Olympics, BBC 4’s “Reunion” spoke with several members of the production team behind the opening ceremony, which featured a video package commemorating the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film series. In it, Craig, playing Bond, escorts the queen to a helicopter to perform a base jump over London Stadium.
“The queen never told her family she was doing it. That was one of the stipulations, that she agreed to be part of it,” production stage manager Sam Hunter told BBC. “So, if you actually see when she comes and she takes her seat, you can see her family go,...

London, Feb 6: A top hat that brushes teeth has won 10,000 pounds in a wacky invention competition.
Sam Hunter Baxter, the inventor, competed with 300 other wacky entries and his invention is going to be made into a real gadget, the Mirror reported.
The 19-year-old Bristol music degree student said that one day while brushing his teeth, he calculated that on average people spend 75 days of their life with a toothbrush in hand.
He added that the odd invention challenge gave him the chance to share his idea for a gadget to avoid wasting time.
Baxter said that winning 10,000 pounds and actually having his invention made is fantastic, plus now he gets an extra two minute lie-in each morning. (Ani)...

Few people have as much insight into the rise and run of "The X-Files" as Frank Spotnitz.
Spotnitz joined the show as a writer in its second season and worked as a writer/producer until the Fox drama ended its nine-season run. He rose to the level of executive producer, directed episodes of the show and worked on the "X-Files" movies that were released during and after the show's run.
None of it was easy.
Part of the reason an obscure show that aired on Friday nights rose to such heights of popularity and influence was because Chris Carter, the show's creator and executive producer, was a demanding boss.
"He was really uncompromising," Spotnitz said in an interview about his time on "The X-Files." "He didn’t care if you didn't like him because he was being so difficult, but he just insisted that you do your best."

Cinemax has decided it’s not quite done with Hunted despite BBC One’s decision not to pick up the series for a second season. Since Cinemax was only acting as the American distributor of the series, there’s not much that can be done with Hunted as it was, but taking the lead character, Sam Hunter, and starting an entirely new show is completely within the realm of possibility. It’s almost crafty. Cinemax is referring to the new series, simply titled Sam Hunter, as a spinoff, but its easier to think of it as a sequel as it still follows Sam and her story, though you can expect some big changes since the series will be designed for a pay cable network.
This transition wouldn’t really work if Melissa George, who played the gutsy agent Sam in Hunted, weren’t reprising her role. Thankfully, Deadline reports that not only is George returning,...

Canceled action drama "Hunted" starring Melissa George may be on its way back to TV.
The show's eight-episode first season aired last fall and was produced in partnership between UK's BBC One and Us cable network Cinemax. The BBC opted not to continue its involvement back in November of last year and the show was essentially canceled.
But Cinemax has apparently been exploring alternative ways to keep the show alive, and now Deadline is reporting "Hunted" creator Frank Spotnitz is developing the spinoff miniseries "Sam Hunter" for the network.
The four-hour event will follow the continuing adventures of George's character, private espionage agent Sam, who is on the run from her former employer while trying to protect her young daughter.
After the "Hunted" cancellation, George moved on to a starring role in ABC's horror soap pilot "Gothica," but the show was not picked up to series, freeing her up once again for "Hunted.

A Hunted spinoff has entered development with Melissa George as its star.
The original series was dropped last year by the BBC, which had co-produced the first season with Us cable network Cinemax.
It was subsequently reported that Cinemax hoped to continue the spy drama without the BBC's involvement.
Deadline has now revealed that a Hunted spinoff called Sam Hunter is in development, with the intention that it will air on Cinemax.

Seth Gabel! I would have started this article with a long Woo Hoo if it wasn’t somewhat unprofessional. But please allow me to take a step back. Gothica (which by the way has absolutely nothing to do with the Halle Berry movie of the same name) is a pilot in development at ABC, described as a modern-day gothic horror soap surrounding the lives of Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde, Frankenstein, Dorian Gray and more. Excellent, right?
This is not to be confused with the Showtime straight-to-series (no pilot required) Penny Dreadful, which features the same characters but in a Victorian London setting, that we told you about back in January. Nor is it to be confused with the modern-day I, Frankenstein movie which in turn is not to be confused with the Frankenstein movie that might have Daniel Radcliffe in it, as we reported earlier today. I emailed Spotnitz a few questions about the finale, and about what the new show (whatever it’s called) might include. ...

Is the Cinemax spy drama "Hunted" canceled? Well, that depends on what country you live in.
According to UK news reports, the BBC has chosen not to go further with the series, which didn't meet ratings expectations for the network.
But "Hunted" has more than one home, and Cinemax, the drama's Us network and co-producer, still has plans for the Melissa George show. "Hunted" is midway through its first season, which was generally well-received on this side of the Atlantic.
"We are making plans with creator and executive producer Frank Spotnitz and star Melissa George to present a new chapter in the Sam Hunter mythology. We are very pleased with what 'Hunted' has done for Cinemax's brand and are very excited about what lies ahead," Kary Antholis, president of HBO miniseries and Cinemax programming, said in a statement released by Cinemax today.

Both HBO and Cinemax have benefited from trans-Atlantic partnerships the last few years, resulting in shows like "Extras," "Strike Back" and most recently "Hunted," the Cinemax thriller starring Melissa George as Sam Hunter, a British private spy looking for revenge on the people who tried to kill her. There's never a shortage of spy dramas on the big or small screen, but even so, the Cinemax thriller "Hunted" is worth seeking out.
The drama reaches its midpoint this week; this post contains an exclusive clip from the fourth of "Hunted's" eight episodes, which airs on Fri., Nov. 9 at 10 p.m. Et. The video doesn't contain footage of Melissa George, who stars as Sam Hunter, an employee of a corporate espionage firm, but there's a reason for that. George is very good in "Hunted," but this week, I thought, why not tempt "Game of Thrones" fans (and everyone else) with some footage of Patrick Malahide playing a delicious villain? (You can watch that footage above.)
In "Hunted," Malahide (a.k.a. "GoT's" Balon Greyjoy) is terrific as Jack Turner, a very wealthy Londoner who aims to become even richer by winning an enormous construction contract for a dam halfway around the world.

Melissa George has spoken about a potential second series of her spy thriller Hunted. The drama - created by Frank Spotnitz (The X-Files) - is currently airing on BBC One in the UK and on Cinemax in the Us. "[Frank has] given me a pretty good idea [of where series two would go]," George told IGN. "It's all going to be about Sam's journey, finding out and putting the pieces together. She won't be the nanny anymore." The actress - who plays Sam Hunter - added that a second series of Hunted (more)...

Frank Spotnitz has been the man up front for the first two Cinemax original drama series. He wrote the first four episodes of the Cinemax incarnation of "Strike Back," and is the creator and executive producer of "Hunted," a new thriller starring Melissa George as British private spy Sam Hunter, who is betrayed, left for dead, and returns to work a year later looking for revenge on whoever it was that set her up. (You can watch an exclusive clip from the premiere at the top of this post.) I interviewed Spotnitz about his design for the series (which I reviewed...

Frank Spotnitz, the beloved creator behind The X Files, may be introducing a new series on Cinemax tonight, but consider yourself warned, TV Fanatics:
Hunted does not involve any extraterrestrials.
Instead, it feature Aussie-American Melissa George, best known stateside from kicking ass with Jennifer Garner on Alias and from HBO’s In Treatment. She portrays intelligent agent Sam Hunter, who survives an attack on her life and returns to duty in an undercover mission, all while keeping an eye out for whomever wants her dead.
Jim Halterman sat down with Spotnitz recently in Los Angeles to talk about the challenges of casting Sam, as well as keeping the dramatic tension and character development equal on the Hunted canvas...

TV Fanatic: I know the show went through a few titles: Morton... then it was Nemesis... and now it’s Hunted. What was genesis of the title?

While we wish there were more, there is an incredible group of kick-ass women on TV at the moment -- and now we can add another to the list.
"Hunted" is making its debut (Fri., Oct. 19 at 10 p.m. Et on Cinemax) and follows Sam Hunter (Melissa George) a spy working for a private intelligence agency who survived an attempt on her life and is back working with a vengeance. In her review of "Hunted," HuffPost TV's Maureen Ryan said, "It's fun to witness how often the wiry blonde can kick some meathead's ass."
Currently, the titular character on "Nikita" (Maggie Q) is also busting skulls and taking names, as is an unlikely lady on "Once Upon A Time," TV's favorite white-haired woman on "Game of Thrones," and Season 3's amazing addition to "The Walking Dead."

Melissa George is fortunate to like Europe and physical activity, given the demands of her latest part.
She also doesn't mind getting "shot," which happens to her not once, but twice in the opening moments of "Hunted." The action series premieres Friday (Oct. 19) on Cinemax, which is aiming for a successor to its successful "Strike Back," recently renewed for Season 4. The new show's elements were big lures for Australia-born model turned actress George, who co-starred on "Alias" for a time and also did stints on "Grey's Anatomy" and "In Treatment."
Arguably, though, her biggest calling has been the running-jumping-punching-kicking movie genre ... confirmed lately by such pay-cable staples as "Triangle" and "A Lonely Place to Die." They've proven to be good warm-ups for her new role as Sam Hunter, a covert espionage agent seeking those who tried to kill her before they can succeed.

The second episode of 'Hunted' demonstrated again what I feared from last week's debut - basically, that this whole series appears to have been based on a plot line that would have filled one and a half episodes of 'Spooks'.
It all got a bit claustrophobic as the writers didn't stray too far from the one setting of the elegant London villa where upstairs, it was all beautiful hall floor tiles and drinks before dinner, while downstairs, patriarch Jack Turner (a scenery-chewing Patrick Malahide) got to indulge in some no-holds-barred barrow-boy-made-good thuggery.
Patrick Malahide revels in ill-concealed thuggery in his beautiful London villa
Meanwhile, Sam Hunter (Melissa George) silently stomped around the gloomy house, all eyes and ears, with only one line to say in the first quarter of an hour, still looking for the person who betrayed her, still traumatised by her childhood nightmares. And, just in case we missed it,...

Melissa George agrees that in a sense, she's revisiting one of her past television projects with her newest one.
Largely known for grueling roles in movies that have become cable staples ("30 Days of Night," "Triangle," "A Lonely Place to Die"), the actress did a stint on ABC's "Alias" as traitorous spy Lauren Reed. She'll be back in the world of espionage as private-security operative Sam Hunter -- on the run across Europe while seeking whoever tried to kill her -- in Cinemax's original series "Hunted," premiering Friday, Oct. 19.
"It was down to Jennifer [Garner] and me for 'Alias' a long time ago, and I really wanted it," George tells Zap2it while resting up from the demanding "Hunted" shoot on vacation in Corsica. "Then I got 'Thieves,' which was on the same network. They put me on that when I didn't get 'Alias' ... and then,...
