Shawn V. Laws-O'Neil is a veteran production executive with expertise in unscripted television, including docusoap, talk, live-performance award shows, syndicated specials and series. Working her way up the ranks, she currently serves as Co-Executive Producer on CBS' #1 rated primetime series, Big Brother, and its spin-off Celebrity Big Brother, as well as the previously aired digital platform spin-off Big Brother: Over the Top where she oversees management of all cast and talent relations, produces high-profile celebrity guest appearances, plans branded integrations and special events, provides supervision on clearance and broadcast standards matters, and areas impacting legal and business affairs, while coordinating efforts between all production departments and the network's Alternative, Media Relations, On-Air Promotions, and Interactive divisions. Laws-O'Neil has also managed CBS' third-party casting teams to secure contestants for Amazing Race, Survivor and Hunted.
During her career, Laws-O'Neil has also lent her talent to shows airing on ABC, Discovery, Discovery Health, Fox, MTV, and served as Director of Current Programming at TV One. In her role there, Laws-O'Neil contributed her expertise to the cable network's success by identifying new talent as well as spearheading a variety of specials and series for the cable network - including Turn Up the Heat with G. Garvin, G. Garvin: The Road Tour, Living It Up with Patti LaBelle, The Gospel of Music with Jeff Majors, and the documentary series, TV One Presents. Laws-O'Neil later served as Supervising Producer on The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty for A&E. The latter was an authorized and emotionally intimate nonfiction television series that Laws-O'Neil produced alongside the Jackson family. Laws-O'Neil was also part of the producing team for Shaq Presents: Kevin Hart's Laugh At My Pain.
In 2006, Laws-O'Neil launched a full-service media company, Half Pint Communications Inc., providing production services, publicity and media management, and talent relations support for a variety of shows and live events.
In addition to writing and producing, for over ten years, Laws-O'Neil supervised clearance departments for independent production companies working with television networks, film studios, advertising agencies, print publications, photo galleries and private parties to obtain and negotiate contracts for use of assets, and continues to oversee legal and clearance-related matters in her executive role.
