BBC presenter Ray Gosling has died, aged 74.
The journalist and broadcaster passed away at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham on Tuesday (November 19).
He presented over 100 television documentaries and a large number of radio programmes.
Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, he hosted On Site for Granada TV, and was known for his many TV and radio programmes about his life, sheds, gnomes and windmills, among other subjects.
The gay rights activist made headlines in 2010 when he was sentenced for wasting police time after falsely claiming that he had killed his former lover who was dying of Aids.
"I killed someone once," he said on his Inside Out show. "He was a young chap, he'd been my lover and he got Aids.
"I picked up the pillow and smothered him until he was dead."
Gosling was later arrested on suspicion of murder, but soon confessed that his story was not true.
