Marika Devan
- Actress
Marika Devan was born May 13, 1990 in Oakland, California. Marika was a
born entertainer and as toddler she entertained her family with
original skits and karaoke. Her dad is a film producer and she grew up
on various movie sets. When she was seven her family moved from
Northern California to Los Angeles to be closer to her dad's work. She
began her acting career on stage when she was eight with the part of
Grace Ferrell in "Annie". The director thought the part might be too
much for Marika to handle but she surprised everyone and proved she had
"the right stuff". Marika was bitten by the acting bug and knew she
wanted to do more theatre, so she took classes at the Santa Monica
Playhouse and performed in two plays. Feeling comfortable on stage and
ready for bigger things, she told her parents that she wanted to try
out for Community Theater and see what it was all about. After her
audition the director commented that it was the best audition he had
seen in years! Much to her surprise she ended up booking the role of
Mrs. Mayor in "Seussical The Musical". After finishing "Seussical"
Marika decided to try her hand at movies. Her friend Anne-Sophie was
shooting a short film and after seeing her performance in "Seussical"
she asked her to play a part. Marika jumped at the chance and
Anne-Sophie was so pleased with her performance that she asked her to
play a larger role in the feature film she was slated to direct titled
"Faded Memories". Marika booked the part of Pam and when principal
photography was completed she immediately returned to the stage. Marika
is currently in rehearsal for "Charlotte's Web" in which she landed the
part of Charlotte. Her family always knew she had something special.
