Brazilian born and U.S. Permanent Resident, Leandro "Leo" Santa Rita, is currently based in Los Angeles, where he contracts his services as a liaison to studios and production companies based in Brazil and South America. Leo is an experienced, multilingual and dynamic worker having taken on production projects as Producer, Line Producer, VFX Producer and Production Consultant for Local and International TV Networks, Feature Films, and Commercials that shoot anywhere around the globe.
Leo's career began with Globo TV Network aka TV Globo (TVG), the largest production studio in South America and fourth largest studio in the world. TVG produces content that encompasses 75% of all filmed entertainment in South America. Recognized for its production quality, the company has garnered 14 International Emmys. TVG's operations include seven pay-per-view television channels and a distribution division that delivers sports and entertainment content to 190 countries around the world.
From 2001 - 2004, Leo was contracted as Marketing Coordinator, by Special Effects Unlimited, Inc., the largest live-action special effects company in the Film Industry, to develop production affiliations and film business in Latin America.
In 2008, he was part of the Special Effects Team, for "Incredible Hulk " filmed entirely in Rio de Janeiro. He had the opportunity to work with the respected Oscar Winning Director and Producer, Gale Anne Hurd.
In 2015/2016 Leo was hired by Record TV Network aka Rede Record, to Producer in partnership with Stargate Studios, the most complex visual effects sequences; the 7 Plagues & Parting to the Red Sea), for the Prime-Time Soap-Opera/Telenovela "The Ten Commandments." This project drew the largest TV audience in the history of the Brazilian Television. This led to the release of the project as a motion picture, that pre-sold over 3 million tickets an unprecedented milestone in the history of Brazilian cinema.
