The group had eight hits in the Top 10. Between 1965 and 1969 they spent more weeks in the UK hit singles charts than any other band, even the Beatles.
The original band was a group of friends from Wiltshire, UK. They were Dave Dee (Dave "Dee" Harman); Trevor Davies
("Dozy"); John Dymond ("Beaky"); Michael Wilson ("Mick") and Ian Amey ("Tich"). Later members included Anthony Carpenter and John Hatchman.
They first charted in the UK in 1965 with "You Make It Move", which peaked at number 26. Two of their albums hit the charts - their eponymous debut album in 1966, and a year later, "If Music Be the Food of Love... Prepare for Indigestion".
