The news that Ultron would be the main antagonist for Joss Whedon's "Avengers" sequel has ended up shedding a lot of light on director Edgar Wright's long-gestating "Ant-Man" film. The film may not hit theaters until November 2015, but people are talking about it now.
Thanks to interviews and hunches, we know that Hank Pym will be featured in "Ant-Man" in some capacity—even though he'll be absent from "Avengers: Age of Ultron." There are also rumors that Tony Stark will be Ultron's creator, and not Pym, which gives one of Ant-Man's main accomplishments to another scientist. Now Edgar Wright has told Science Fiction that Ultron was never even a part of his "Ant-Man."
"I cannot really get into that, but um... I'll say no. No he wasn't." Definitive statement is definitive! But if Pym isn't going up against Ultron, who could he possibly go up against?...

Adding the Mandarin as a chief adversary was only the beginning. As promised, Iron Man 3 has begun filming scenes in Beijing, and in the process, has added actor Wang Xuequi for a supporting part, Deadline reports. The actor will play Dr. Wu, an adversary of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and a part that, at one point, belonged to Hong Kong star Andy Lau, though he had to back out before filming began. Calm down, Marvel fans. While Chen Lu is the alter-ego of Radioactive Man in the Marvel universe, Deadline claims that Xuequi.s role is .not a huge part. so this isn.t part of a massive spinoff for Phase Three of the Marvel universe. Marvel reportedly chose to film in China as part ofa partnership with Dmg Entertainment. At Comic-Con, director Shane Black downplayed the amount of manpower that will be used to film the scenes...

His casting comes as Marvel Studios and Dmg Entertainment team up to shoot portions of "Iron Man 3" in Beijing this week.

It was previously speculated that he would play Chen Lu/Radioactive Man, but it doesn't look like that's the case. Already several months into production, Marvel has just announced the addition of a new cast member to "Iron Man 3." Chinese actor Wang Xuequi ("Yellow Earth," "The Big Parade") has joined the superhero follow-up as a supporting character named Dr. Wu, according to Deadline. Though Xuequi's involvement has been rumored for awhile now, word was that he would be playing Chen Lu, also known as the supervillain Radioactive Man (a role that Hong Kong singer/actor Andy Lau was previously reported to have backed out of). However, Wu appears to be a different character altogether. Marvel will begin a weeklong shoot in...

But when it leaked that the character's name was Chen Lu - who in the comics becomes Radioactive Man - it was assumed he must be a villain, and Deadline have also confirmed this, saying Xuequi will have a villainous role, but that it is "not a huge part". Exclusive: Marvel starts filming several Iron Man 3 scenes in Beijing on Monday. And I’ve learned from my Chinese-based movie biz sources that the studio has just cast leading Chinese actor Wang Xueqi as a new character playing “Dr. Wu”. The highly secretive Marvel has been prepping for the shoot for a week in Mainland China. Dmg Entertainment is Iron Man 3’s Chinese distributor, and is working to help staff the shoot on the ground. Marvel still intends to file for co-production status – but apparently they have a permit to film and are ready to go on that front. It was rumored a few months ago that Hong Kong actor Andy Lau would be joining Iron Man 3 as an ally of billionaire inventor Tony Stark, but he quickly backed out. Yes, the Radioactive Man.Although I still have my misgivings about Iron Man 2, I still have a glimmer of hope for the new adventure starring everyone’s favorite bucket head. Besides, everyone knows that The Mandarin is a way better villain than Whiplash anyways. And what does every good superhero sequel need? More villains!
It’s reported by Chinesefilms.cn via Mtime.com that Wang Xueqi be joining the Marvel cinematic universe as Chen Lu, who also goes by the name of Radioactive Man. Not to be confused with the comic book superhero of the same name from The Simpsons.

Though the film’s been shooting all summer, it looks like there’s still one more character for Tony Stark to meet in his latest return to the screen, as Wang Xueqi has been confirmed to join the cast of Shane Black‘s Iron Man 3.
66-year-old Xueqi will play Chen Lu, a former scientist who eventually becomes the villain Radioactive Man in the comics. His comicbook counterpart was often called on for aid by The Mandarin (played in the film by Ben Kingsley). Hong Kong singer/actor Andy Lau was originally in talks for Xueqi’s role before dropping out due to the birth of his child.
I’m still not sure about having too many villainous characters in the film, as former director Jon Favreau‘s biggest failure with IM2 was a surplus of baddies. Ashley Hamilton and James Badge Dale‘s characters in the triquel were also villains in the comics,...

According to Mtime.com, Wang Xueqi was seen chatting with Iron Man 3 producer Dan Mintz in Beijing. This has led to chatter that the 66 year old actor would play Chen Lu, a role that was previously linked with Andy Lau, who had to drop out. Chen Lu, to comic book aficionados, becomes Radioactive Man, who works for the Mandarin. It’s been rumored that the Radioactive Man would appear in the post-credits scene in Iron Man 3, which would also feature Ant-Man. Nobody knows for sure, at this point.
Xueqi is a long time Chinese actor, who’s had a long career, and appeared in films like The Red Suit and Bodyguards And Assassins.
Iron Man 3, directed by Shane Black, stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley, Rebecca Hall, Paul Bettany, Jon Favreau, William Sadler, Ashley Hamilton, Dale Dickey and James Badge Dale.

Iron Man 3 has been filming since the end of May - with the start of production officially announced a few days into June - and a few fresh pieces of information have now escaped from the secretive set.
Chinese Films reports that Wang Xueqi has been a last-minute addition to director Shane Black's cast.
The 66-year-old actor (pictured above and below) is in negotiations for the role of Chen Lu, a scientist who becomes the villainous Radioactive Man and often works for the Mandarin, to be played by Ben Kingsley in the film.

Iron Man already owns seven suits of armor. What's forty more between friends?
A new rumor is floating around suggesting that Tony Stark isn't just getting the one requisite armor upgrade for "Iron Man 3," but a walloping 40 new suits to his name. How and why does our hero make such a massive change to his arsenal? The answer falls firmly under spoiler territory, so read on at your own risk!
According to Latino Review, the new armor unveiled at Comic-Con isn't the Mark VIII armor, but the Mark Xlvii. Tony develops this suit in response to the Extremis-endowed foes he's up against in "Iron Man 3." Basically, Tony can use the Mark Xlvii "to control multiple Iron Man suits," as many as 40, giving him an army of human-free Iron Men all under his direct supervision. Forty high-tech armored soldiers all controlled by one eccentric egomaniacal billionaire? Precisely what the world needs!
