In 2022, Slottje's The Rotting of Casey Culpepper was admitted to the 49th Telluride Film Festival and the Sundance Producers Lab.
The short film (programmed by Telluride) served as Slottje's Columbia University MFA thesis, and was the first horror film in history to be admitted to the festival's prestigious 'Filmmakers of Tomorrow' section.
In 2023, the short accrued over 100,000 views within a month of being posted on YouTube.
The feature screenplay of the same name, (admitted to the Sundance Lab), written and to be directed by Slottje, is in development in collaboration with producer Matthew R. Cooper, and with the support of the Sundance Institute.
