Kevon Newman
- Writer
At the age of 25 Kevon decided to leave Maryland and explore life
beyond his hometown. Packing his car with a few belongings Kevon moved
to Georgia for a year first to make sure he was making the right
decision by leaving Maryland. While living in Georgia Kevon decided to
make good on a hobby he always started, but never finished - writing a
novel. And having written two novels in Georgia (Until A Man Dies and
For The Love Of Hate) and landing a literary agent, a year to the exact
date moved to Georgia, Kevon promptly decided to quit his job and head
to his original destination - California. However, wanting to live in
San Jose initially Kevon's college friend encouraged him to live in Los
Angeles instead. And on that same night of arriving in Los Angeles per
the escort of Kevon's college friend he was momentarily reunited with
his high school girlfriend. From there Kevon was introduced to writing
screenplays. Kevon then decided to hone the craft of writing across
both fields, film and novels. In 2004 Kevon's very first short entitled
Man in the Mirror was accepted into New York International Independent
Film & Video Festival and was nominated for an award. Though it didn't
win the award Kevon was still encouraged to continue writing films
along with novels. Two years later Kevon was hired by Driver Seat
Productions to co-write "10-20". Armed with the feeling of success
Kevon has began to look to adapting his own novels into films.
