The talented Lisa Howard admits to Broadway.com that she was already a fan of ‘The Twilight Saga’ series before she joined as a cast and tells us why she thinks ‘Breaking Dawn’ is the best in the series. She also shares her favourite moments in ‘Breaking Dawn’ and what is next on the horizon for her.
Broadway actress Lisa Howard is making her film debut in Breaking Dawn Part 2, the final installment in the uber-popular Twilight series. Howard plays Siobhan, the leader of the Irish Coven, a group vampires who work with Bella (Kristen Stewart), Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) to defeat the corrupt vampire leaders, the Volturi.
“It might be the best one of the whole series,” Howard told Broadway.com. “What [director] Bill Condon did is pretty great. There are definitely some surprises.”
As a veteran of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Howard is no stranger to eccentric costumes, and the actress was more than happy to play dress up as a vampire. “I loved the wig they put me in,” she said of her sinister look. “Once you get those contacts in, it does most of the characterization work for you. It took a while to get into hair and makeup everyday, but obviously it was well worth it.”
Though she joined the franchise late in the game, Howard didn’t need a Twilight crash course to catch up on all the supernatural romance and action. “I have read all the [books] and loved them. Being a fan of the movies already it was surreal actually standing [on set] in the Cullens’ house.”
The movie culminates in a giant battle between the Cullens and thier allies against the Volturi as the villianous group tries to hunt down Edward and Bella’s daughter Renesmee. “It’s really cool what they did with the special effects and there is a twist, but I don’t want to say too much,” she teased of the finale. So if Howard were to find herself in an epic vampire battle which of her co-stars would she want on her side? “Rob, because he’s taller than Taylor!”
Breaking Dawn isn’t the only big project on the horizon for Howard. She’s set to lead It Shoulda Been You, a new musical directed by David Hyde Pierce that’s aiming for a Broadway bow next fall. “It’s pretty much a dream role,” she said of her character Jenny, who must deal with the wacky antics that ensue at her sister’s wedding. “So fingers crossed that it will happen next year!”

Artists on Demand had an exclusive interview with Lisa Howard not too long ago and the talented actress spoke about Siobhan and her ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2′ experience, as well as, what her next projects would be.
Can you tell us briefly how you got into acting?
I got into acting by way of singing. I started taking voice lessons at a young age and performed in show choir, but I really found my true love with musical theater. I loved movie musicals like Annie, The Sound Of Music and Grease. So, in high school I tried out and performed in a musical or play every year, getting my first taste of what acting is all about. I ended up going to the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and got a Bfa in musical theater. I moved to NYC after that and have been singing and acting ever since.
You play Siobhan in the The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, part 2. Can you tell us a bit about your character (for those living under a rock and unfamiliar)?
Siobhan is the leader of the Irish Coven of vampires and is friends with Carlisle Cullen. When asked, she and her coven come to bear witness to the Volturi that the Cullends did not make an immortal child. (Which is a crime punishable by death). She is believe to have her own unique power which is the ability to will the outcome of a situation in her favor.
What was it like coming into this movie in the final film and joining a cast that had been working together for some time?
The cast was quite welcoming to all the new vampires. I think they enjoyed having some new blood around. No pun intended.
Everyone is dying to see the final fight. Rumor has it that it does not follow the book exactly. Anything you can tell us about that?
Well, at this point the movie is out in theaters, but I still wouldn’t want to ruin it for someone who hasn’t seen the film yet. Yes, there is a sort of twist at the end, but you’ll have to see it for yourself to appreciate it!
The final fight scene has a large group of people that took part in filming it, as many different covens and nomads joined the Cullen’s to face the Volturi. What was the experience like filming that scene?
We spent a Lot of time standing in that snowy field! However, it was the perfect chance for everyone to bond. I made some great new friends! Also, it was really cool to see that army of Volturi Vampires come marking toward us. Very creepy!
Do you think the final film does justice to the end of this series that the fans love so much?
Most definitely! I think Bill Condon did an amazing job with this film.
Have you seen the movie? If so, what is your opinion?
Yes, I’ve seen it twice now and I Love it.
Out of this entire saga, do you have a favorite movie or scene?
I, of course, love Breaking Dawn, part 2, but I also have a special connection to the first Twilight film that introduced us to this wonderful world.
We have to ask! Team Edward or Team Jacob?
I think I have to say Team Edward. There’s just something about vampires.
Aside from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, part do, do you have anything else you are working on that fans should be on the lookout for?
I’m planning on doing some concerts in the new year. You can check out my website www.lisahowardnyc.com for details on those. I also have another project in the works, it’s a show called It Shoulda Been You, directed by David Hyde Pierce and starring myself, Tyne Daly, Harriett Harris, Richard Klein, and Edwart Hibbert. We hope to open on Broadway next fall!

Earlier this evening, Kenji put up eight new character banners for Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2. Turns out these 8 were just scratching the surface on the banners that Summit Entertainment (or Lionsgate as they are now) have released. Below are 22 brand new characters banners from the final movie in the Twilight franchise. Some of them, Kenji placed earlier this evening but there are so many new ones, it was easier to just put them all up.
We also have one new image of a large group of people together in the forest around a campfire. The group includes:

Breaking Dawn Part 2 poster: Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black Taylor Lautner returns as the shapeshifter / werewolf Jacob Black in one of three The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 character posters released earlier today. The other two Breaking Dawn Part 2 posters star red-eyed newborn vampire Kristen Stewart and golden-eyed centenarian vampire Robert Pattinson. Since vampires are immortal, all three posters feature the tagline "Forever." Now, I don’t think werewolves live forever. Jacob’s poster should read "For now," especially considering how his affections shift from Bella to another key character in Breaking Dawn Part 2. Directed by Kinsey / Dreamgirls‘ Bill Condon from a screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg (based on Stephenie Meyer’s novel), Breaking Dawn 2 is the final installment in the Twilight Saga film series. [Check out the Breaking Dawn 2 teaser poster.] In Breaking Dawn Part 2, Edward Cullen and his newborn-vampire wife Bella Swan-Cullen (Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart) must stand their ground against the ancient Volturi Clan (Michael Sheen,...
