Mark Barron(1905-1960)

During his almost thirty year career with Associated Press, Barron had
been a reporter, drama critic, war correspondent, feature writer and
New York city desk editor. He started his career in New York writing a
sports column ("Along the Sports Trail") for The Morning Telegraph. He
went on to be telegraph editor for the New York Times and later
Broadway columnist for the Herald Tribune. Before joining A.P. in 1931,
Barron wrote with Ward Morehouse, then
drama critic for the New York Sun, "Gentlemen of the Press", which was
made into a Hollywood movie the year after its 1928 debut on Broadway.
