The Biggest Loser is packed with emotion tonight on NBC, and trainers Jessie Pavelka and Jennifer Widerstrom are on the Et set talking about it.
Pics: See Which Stars Have Shed Some Serious Weight
In Thursday evening's all-new episode, contestant Howard "Woody" Carter is reduced to tears as the one-year anniversary of his wife's death looms, and the moment had the show's trainers emotional all over again when they watched the clip on our Et stage.
"As I think about our past I think about everything," Woody says in our clip. "How she looked in my bed. How she looked in my eyes -- that worrisome look, man...funeral. It's unfair, man. Why is it so unfair?"
Jennifer commented on the clip, telling Et's Kevin Frazier, "I love that man, and he's just such a testament to me. He sets an example of what the human spirit can do. It's why we do it, because everybody...

[This post contains details from The Biggest Loser episode that aired Sept. 11]
After Rachel Frederickson’s controversial victory last season, the producers are giving themselves a second chance with The Biggest Loser: Glory Days. All 20 contestants this year are former athletes, which theoretically should mean their minds and bodies are better suited for the intense regime expected of this competition. These former champions already know what it takes to be a winner but also understand the concept of limits and discipline, something Frederickson was criticized for lacking. Though it gets a little annoying how many times the trainers say it, this does have the potential to be the best season yet.

“The trick is to stay alive long enough to cash out,” Steve Buscemi’s Nucky Thompson muses in a new teaser for Boardwalk Empire‘s final season. Of course, that might be easier said than done.
Related Boardwalk Empire Adds a Drifter in Season 5
HBO on Sunday aired this chilling first look at Season 5 — premiering in September — and if the uneasy cover of Three Dog Night’s “One (Is the Loneliest Number)” is any indication, Bucky won’t find himself with too many allies when the prohibition drama comes to a close.

The 14th (!) season of "The Bachelor" kicks off on Monday (Jan. 4) night, and on the surface Jake Pavelka fits the bill.
The 31-year-old commercial tried to woo Jillian on "The Bachelorette" with a one-on-one date that included a private performance by Martina McBride. He got cut, but he did come back to pull the wool away from Jillian's eyes about that two-timing louse Wes.
In his pre-premiere interviews he comes across as being in it for the right reasons, yadda, yadda, yadda, but we've heard all of that before. Countless times. And after the Jason Mesnick fiasco is there really such a thing as being too careful?
And considering their track record of unsuccessful matches, maybe ABC should broaden their pool beyond rejected men and women from previous seasons.
If they had their heart set on a Pavelka, there is another one available.

They've never met, but "Diet Tribe"'s hunky trainer Jessie Pavelka and Jake Pavelka, the hot new "Bachelor," are distant cousins. "My dad explained it to me," Jessie tells Et, but also admits he doesn't quite remember how the family tree grows. "My dad met his dad, but I never knew him growing up. I went to college in the same town where he grew up, but I have never spoken to him." Even so, Jessie says he thinks it is great that Jake is going to be "The Bachelor." "Hopefully, he does a good job and finds love," says Jessie, who is a newlywed himself. He and Canadian actress Sitara Hewitt, who stars on the CBC TV series, "Little Mosque on the Prairie," tied the knot on Sept. 18. "We met through a mutual friend," he says. "It is pretty amazing." Jessie moved to Hollywood with the hope of becoming an actor.
