Salvador Luna spent his early childhood on a commune in Tennessee, and
moved to the San Francisco Bay Area for middle and high school. He
started directing films in high school, writing, directing and acting
in a German language horror film. He's studied film at San Francisco
State University, and then went on to receive his MFA from The Academy
of Art University. Since then he's directed over 14 short films, and
worked on many more. He's had a chance to study with some of the
industry's best camera & sound production teams, including alums of
Skywalker Sound & Lucas Films. His focus has been on science fiction,
and magical realism, and how they create catharsis. His thesis project
"The Simulant Mechanism", based on Philip K. Dick's "The Electric Ant",
demonstrates this mixture. Salvador is working on his first feature
film "In Close Orbit", a romantic drama infused with elements of
science fiction.
