After leaving Rooster Teeth in May 2012, he later worked as a Video Producer (under a contract) for 5 months at the University of Chicago in Chicago, IL from August 2012 until December 2012. At The University of Chicago, he managed up to twenty projects simultaneously as the project lead, consistently beating deadlines and delivering projects within initial budgeted parameters. It was here where he learned a great deal about project management and prioritization. Depending on the project, his responsibilities varied. He defined the project scope, wrote the creative brief, estimated the budget, drafted the production schedule, contracted external vendors, directed production, delegated editing responsibilities, and oversaw deliverables. Many times schedules would change with very little notice, and he was required to be flexible and to act quickly, analyzing the best way to deliver all videos on time without allowing any to slip through the cracks.
