"Why is there a soundtrack for everything except the show with music in every single second of it?" So asked "Arrested Development" creator Mitch Hurwitz when he introduced the Arrested Development Band for their record release party in Hollywood last night. Celebrating the release of "At Long Last... Music and Songs from Arrested Development," a 42-song soundtrack from the recently resurrected television show, the party at The Record Parlour put the eclectic group of musicians who churned out more than 80 songs for the beloved comedy front and center. Featuring musicians Louis Price, Gabriel Mann, Steve Mazur (Our Lady Peace), Lucy Schwartz and Michael Jerome (Better Than Ezra), the Arrested Development Band was helmed by the man of the hour, David Schwartz, who served as the soundtrack's composer and bass guitarist. Hurwitz had plenty of praise for Schwartz, calling his work ethic "prolific." "It's hard to express how quickly he did that music consistently,...

This week’s episode had to be a step down from last week's. It had to be. But that didn’t stop Lockhart/Gardner from going for the jugular. Between cases within cases and old familiar faces, this felt like a more typical hour of The Good Wife. So grab an empty soup pot, squash your fists, and, for heaven’s sake, keep Grace out of the kitchen: Here’s what we learned from last night’s slightly calmer episode of The Good Wife. But What Do Cary’s Sheets Look Like? The episode opened with a highly unusual “The Next Day” caption. (Hey! That’s the name of this episode!) We get a glimpse inside Diane, Will, and Alicia’s respective bedrooms. Should we go overboard with the analysis and read into the color choices of their sheets? Maybe not. But if you had any doubt who the “Captain...

There may be more Arrested Development episodes on the way.
There may also be an Arrested Development movie.
But now the folks at Film Music Reporter have confirmed: There will definitely be an Arrested Development soundtrack! It will be released on November 19.
According to a press release, “Arrested Development’s composer David Schwartz selected his songs and score from all four seasons of the show, with a heavy dose of the original madcap songs and its signature ukulele tunes."
Schwartz - who has also scored Deadwood, Beverly Hills, 90210 - added on his website that “the playlist is based on all of the requests from we received during the Ama on reddit.com. Greatest fans ever!”
Look for the soundtrack to be comprised of 42 singles. They will be:
1. Arrested Development (Main Title) (0:18)
2. She’s Cute (1:25)
3. Get Away (Extended Version) (2:53)

If Netflix's season of "Arrested Development" wasn't enough for your Bluth-loving appetite, here's some good news: an "Arrested Development" soundtrack is coming your way.
The critically-loved comedy from Mitch Hurwitz may be a long way from getting another season or a movie, but it will get its own soundtrack with 42 songs, including the songs "Big Yellow Joint," "Get Away," and "Boomerang" performed by Lucy Schwartz, which was featured in the season finale of the fourth season. The soundtrack will be released on November 19, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, Film Music Reporter reports.

You’ve seen Julianne Moore play a lawyer, a housewife, a mother, and a post-apocalyptic survivor, but not until now have you seen her play a rock star.
For indie drama What Maisie Knew, Moore had to learn the swagger and the singing skills of a rocker. She plays Susanna, one half of the pair of negligent, self-involved parents of young Maisie (Onata Aprile). When Susanna and her art dealer husband (Steve Coogan) divorce, Maisie gets shuffled back and forth between the two of them, and soon her two new stepparents (Alexander Skarsgård and Joanna Vanderham) come to care for...

Just yesterday, we looked at the official lyrics video for "Cold" by Lucy Schwartz and Aqualung on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1's Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. Today, we'll check out a great new interview the two did about making the song. Even though this was just posted on Lucy Schwartz's YouTube page a few days ago, the chat was clearly filmed sometime last year (at the end, they talk about heading out to perform for Twilight fans at the Breaking Dawn - Part 1 cast and musician tour). Still, it's interesting to hear from them what went into making this lovely song. Evidently some William Blake poetry was consulted in the process, and Lucy Schwartz was inspired by "Bella's" choices, "giving up a great sacrifice for the one that you love," while Aqualung's Matt Hales thought it was more of "a very heightened version of a...

"Cold" by Lucy Schwartz and Aqualung was one of my favorite The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 soundtrack inclusions, particularly when paired with the bathtub scene in the film. It was also one of Stephenie Meyer's favorites, as she explained on the Breaking Dawn - Part 1 premiere carpet. A official lyrics video for "Cold" was recently unveiled (attached), revealing the full lyrics for the song. Here they are: God and his priests and his kings All were waiting All will wait As they go over Held between heaven and hell As they're dancing As they dance Over and over Over Cold ....

The Breaking Dawn Part 1 cast continued their concert tour with a stop in San Francisco last night. Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, and Charlie Bewley were all on hand at The Fillmore auditorium for the event, which included performances by Aqualung, Sleeping at Last, and Lucy Schwartz, who are all featured on the soundtrack. We chatted with the stars on the red carpet, and Nikki explained how she's juggling all the Twilight press with life as a newlywed while Ashley opened up about working with Kristen Stewart. Jackson shared memories from his jam sessions with Robert Pattinson and Charlie talked about being embraced by the whole cast. Check back for more on today's PopSugar Rush! The excitement continues on Monday when the stars descend on La for the Breaking Dawn Part 1 premiere, and it looks like fans are already gearing up for the big day since hundreds of Twihards...

You might think that the Twilight soundtrack series could be losing some of its indie-alternative cred by featuring a pop crooner like Bruno Mars. But aside from the "Grenade" guy and Christina Perri (on the piano ballad "A Thousand Years"), there are no other VH1 faves invading the franchise. Instead you get singer-songwriters Aqualung and Lucy Schwartz dueting on the eerie "Cold" and Breaking Dawn actress Mia Maestro bringing the undead to "Llovera."The Ultimate Twilight PlaylistWith Breaking Dawn - Part I opening Nov. 18, sink your fangs into these tunes from the four soundtracks. • Muse "Supermassive Black Hole" (2008's Twilight...

The more snarktastic among us have made a near-industry over the years of goofing on the adventures of Edward and Bella, but there's one thing that even the most jaded hipster can't deny: The "Twilight" movies have always had kick-ass soundtracks.
Past installments have included contributions from indie stars like Death Cab For Cutie, Iron & Wine, Radiohead's Thom Yorke, Grizzly Bear and Stephanie Meyer's favorite band, Muse. Now, with only two flicks left, music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas (who pioneered this sort of thing with "The O.C.") is pulling out all the stops with the excellent soundtrack to "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1." And excellent it is, if your heart isn't hardened to the more emotional end of the moody-rock spectrum.
The first single released was "It Will Rain," a plaintive ballad from pop maestro Bruno Mars. It's a decidedly downbeat turn from the guy who would jump on...

For the past three years, "Twilight" stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have been making beautiful music together on screen. Another year, another shameless plug for Twilight fan traffic. Below is a sneak peek behind the scenes of the Edward-Bella wedding in Summit Entertainment’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part I which releases November 18th. There’s endless promotion of the 2nd-to-last movie in this ridiculously lucrative vampires and werewolves franchise, including a concert tour and stars meet-and-greet. The soundtrack will be released on November 8th with the new single “It Will Rain” by Grammy Award-winning Bruno Mars. I personally am curious to see how badly director Bill Condon effed up this Part 1 filmed back-to-back with Part 2: the buzz is that this film is chaotic at best: Meanwhile, Summit is kicking off a nationwide Red Carpet event and concert tour for the movie. Fans can see stars including Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, and Ashley Greene, as well as attend performances of several...

Mars not only gets the Breaking Dawn Part 1 honor of its first single, but word is his It Will Rain will be featured during Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) wedding.
Barely out 24 hours and It Will Rain is already number nine on the iTunes charts. Listen to it below!
Mars spoke to Billboard about the track and it appears the talent truly gets what his job was crafting a song for a Twilight film. "The Twilight movies for me are a love story,” Mars said. “But it's a dark love story. And I think the best way...

The indie angst of past "Twilight" scores has given way to doo-wop sadness on "It Will Rain," the lead single Bruno Mars dropped Tuesday (September 27). The full "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" soundtrack will hit the streets November 8.
In a previous interview, Mars promised "It Will Rain" would be "dark," and he didn't lie. The track — co-written and co-produced by Mars' team, the Smeezingtons — is signature Mars: Sweeping and romantic, it focuses on the power of true love and the emotional pain of heartbreak. The pain of the track is reminiscent of his smash "Grenade."
" 'Cause there'll be no more sunlight, if I lose you, baby," he sings on the emotional chorus. "There'll be no clear skies, if I lose you, baby/ Just let the clouds, my...

One person from the ‘Breaking Dawn’ cast has a song on the record — is it R-Patz?

Sadly, Robert Pattinson does not appear on the record, but we’re thrilled to hear all of the new songs! And we’re even more excited to hear Mia Maestro — who plays Carmen in the movie — flex her pipes on one of the tracks.
Fans will also be thrilled to know that “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” (Wedding Version) by Iron & Wine seems to be the wedding song, and “Love Death Birth” by Carter Burwell will likely accompany the birth scene.
1) “End Tapes” – By The Joy Formidable
2) “Love Will Take You” – By Angus & Julia Stone
3) “It Will Rain” – By Bruno Mars
4) “Turning Page” – By Sleeping At Last

It’s here, it’s here! The official soundtrack listing (Ost) for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 has been revealed. We already knew about Bruno Mars, and his song ‘It Will Rain’ and now we have a whole list to go with it. Included on that list is an apparently new form of ‘Flightless Bird, American Mouth’ by Iron and Wine, which you just might remember from that famous prom scene in Twilight. Check it all out after the jump:
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1
01 End Tapes – By The Joy Formidable
02 Love Will Take You – By Angus & Julia Stone

18 Eclipse (All Yours) [Bonus Track] – By Kevin Teasley
19 It Will Rain – By Bruno Mars [Edit]
While I’m thrilled they’re throwing in a reference to the original Twilight with ‘Flightless Bird’, I have to admit I’m pretty bitterly disappointed that there’s no Muse. I definitely realize that they could still be included in Breaking Dawn – Part 2, but that’s really not helping me right now. I mean really? Breaking Dawn is dedicated to Muse. But I’ve never understood the obsession to have completely new music either, I’d take old Muse any day! I think the baseball scene in Twilight is still one of the most popular scenes in the entire Saga to this day, and Muse’s ‘Supermassive Black Hole’ was definitely not written for the movie. Ah well, I’ll wait to fully judge when I actually hear it, because it does still contain some awesome bands like The Joy Formidable.
Currently you can pre-order the soundtrack on Amazon here.

We are only two months away from the Oscars, and members of the Academy are hard at work trying to decide who best deserves one of those five nomination slots.
Today, they released their shortlist for Best Original Song which tops out at an impressive 41 songs.
But we can already make an educated guess as to which five will be competition on Oscar night based on who the Golden Globes and the Critics’ Choice Awards favored, and none of them involve Justin Bieber or Debbie Gibson.
“I See the Light” from “Tangled” earned a Best Song nod from both, as did “If I Rise” from “127 Hours” and “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me” from “Burlesque.” Randy Newman’s “We Belong Together” from “Toy Story 3″ also seems a lock, since all of Newman’s songs for Disney/Pixar have scored nominations over the years.
