Born in Geneva, Switzerland; Tarek showed from a very young age a
certain affinity for the "septieme art" through his uncanny ability to
memorize an entire film: word for word. He groomed this ability into a
talent for pitch-perfect impersonations and soon was the toast of
dinner parties, family reunions and Christmas speeches. His parents
thought he would surely succumb to the "acting bug" but it wasn't until
he had completed his final year at the Arts Institute at Bournemouth
that he decided to pursue a professional career in the movie industry.
Much to their surprise; he'd caught a different bug: editing films.
During this period; Tarek, in true cinephile fashion, began to devour
movie after movie at an alarming rate; training his eyes and sensing
the crucial timing of good editing. His hands-on experience at the New
York Film Academy was extremely rewarding. He surprised and delighted
his family and friends yet again with his student film projects, which
demonstrated his natural ability to tailor cut and paste film segments
together into engrossing stories as well as newly found ability to
direct film crew members and actors. His final thesis project: The
Shoes Maketh the Man; a slap-stick comedy, is his latest project to
date.
