After the confused revelations of the season 6 finale, Hush Hush Sweet Liars, has Pretty Little Liars lost both its subtext and soul?
This feature contains spoilers for Pretty Little Liars season 6.
The sixth season finale for Pretty Little Liars aired this week, and with it came fresh reveals about secret twins, ludicrously convincing prosthetics and elaborate kidnapping plots. It was sillier than I remember the show ever being, and this is a series that regularly features dead girls coming back to life, cyber-stalkers stealing rotting corpses and storing them in drinks cabinets, and teenage girls commissioning creepy woodsmen to create multiple masks of their own faces.
I love this show. I've written thousands of words about it, meticulously deciphered its mysteries and gotten up at the crack of dawn to watch it just so I wouldn't be spoiled. But even I have to admit that things have been a little off lately,...

Moviefone's Top DVD of the Week
"Locke"
What's It About? Tom Hardy stars as a construction foreman who's driving to London to attend the birth of his child. You really shouldn't have stressful conversations on your cell while driving, but Ivan (Hardy) doesn't care. He has to make sure his big job tomorrow goes as planned, confess to his wife that he cheated on her with a co-worker, and coaching the aforementioned co-worker through the premature birth of their baby. Yikes.
Why We're In: Hardy is more than capable of commanding the screen for the entirety of the movie. Although you hear other characters' voices, it's all Hardy, all the time. Who could argue with that?
Moviefone's Top Blu-ray of the Week
"Love Streams" (Criterion)
What's It About? John Cassavetes and real-life wife Gena Rowlands star as siblings who turn to each other for support after being left by everyone else in their lives.

On Oscar Sunday the great and good of the silver screen will assemble at the Dolby Theatre for the 85th Academy Awards. This year’s extravaganza will surely be a night to remember.
With it being the biggest event in movie geekdom, the Wamg crew came up with their own Oscar predictions. Some of the categories there was a consensus on, while others we were divided.
Throughout the awards season, frontrunners jockeyed for position, all hoping to head into Sunday’s ceremony as the favorite to take home gold.
Best motion picture of the year

Sexy! Daring! It will literally Be Raining Men!
For months, the ads for Magic Mike have been screaming promises of greased-up, stripped-down, body-shot-fuled debauchery at us with all the subtlety of a Westboro Baptist funeral crasher. So it's with both a tip of the hat and a bit of a sigh that I report that yes, Magic Mike is the most awesomely unabashed celebration of Chippendale-variety crotch-wagging ever to grace the American screen ... and it's also a pretty damned decent drama as well. Much like the man at its center, Mike deserves to be seen as the total package ... even though the packages most of us will be plunking down our singles for would have been plenty.
Chronicling three months in the lives of a group of strippers in Tampa, Mike is the perfect summer movie: its pace is unhurried; its attitude is refreshingly blase; and its sun-soaked, skin-filled landscape...

We hold in our hands the covers for DC Comics this February. As a child of four can plainly see, these comics have been hermetically sealed in a Cgc 9.9 slab, and they’ve been kept in a #2 mayonnaise jar under a giant stack of returned copies of Holy Terror since noon today.
What do we have worth noting? The new look of Darkseid, and we’re far enough into the new 52 books that it’s time for Batman to start crossing over in all of them. Plus Mara Jade, the red-haired assassin who fell in love with her blond-haired man she was sent to kill– oh, I’m sorry, that’s from Star Wars. This is Mera in a jade outfit. Our mistake.
Shall we? Surely!
As usual, spoilers may lurk beyond this point.

The early fall season can often be touch and go when it comes to dressing your children for the day. While a t-shirt may be perfect for the mid-day sun, waiting for the school bus in the morning or playing outside in the evening with bare arms just won’t do!
Fortunately, the go-to layering look for most parents has become a hit in the fashion world and with the cool fall nights upon us, more often than not, that top layer will be none other than a warm hoodie. Although younger kids may initially struggle with zip-up hoodies, many catch on quickly, at least when it comes to taking them off. Unlike the traditional sweatshirt, hoodies are a great option as kids can leave them unzipped to let air ventilate when they feel too warm.
