Ernesto M. Abreu

Ernesto Miguel Abreu was born in East Harlem and grew up during the 70's and 80's around music. He became a student of music at 5 years of age. He learned African, Afro Haitian, Afro Puerto Rican, Afro Cuban and Afro Dominican Drum Culture from some of the greatest percussionists in New York and the world. He taught himself drum set, piano and guitar before the age of 16.
Ernesto has obtained his Bachelor Degree from Purchase College in Music Composition, Music Engineering and Political Science.
Ernesto has recorded with :Escort, Ron Trent, Antipop Consortium, Sugarman 3, Genesis Groove, Shinichi Osawa, Ticklah, Lounge Brigade, Justice System, And many more.
Ernesto was also a member and co-writer in :Cooly's Hotbox, Antibalas, Topaz
Ernesto Abreu has performed all over the U.S., Canada, England, Europe and Japan.
