Christi O'Donnell
- Composer
Christi Ashley O'Donnell was born in Winfield, IL USA on February 12th,
1985. At age seven, she began composing on the piano, and her parents,
both musicians and professionals, encouraged her talent. Her mother,
Marcie O'Donnell, a music director and piano teacher and father, Marty
O'Donnell, a composer and producer best known for his position as audio
director at Bungie and his music in the Halo video game series,
mentored her on the piano and taught her theory, music production, and
the rules of the music industry.
After Microsoft bought out Bungie in 2000, the family moved to Redmond, WA. She began learning about music production after her parents set up a small studio for her in the den of their house. By 2005, her interests led her to a community college nearby offering audio engineering classes. In 2010, she was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis, but still continued to compose, produce, and learn. Six years later, after working professionally in the field and founding her company Rare Pop Records, she began classes at Cornish College of the Arts, as a music composition major.
