Asif Kapadia’s (Senna) intimate and eye opening Amy Winehouse documentary, Amy, held its gala premiere at Picturehouse Central in London last night, followed by a live Q&A beamed directly into over 300 cinemas nationwide. The Q&A panel included Kapadia, producer James Gay-Rees, and Winehouse’s friend and former manager Nick Shymansky, who provided much of the early footage used in the movie. Images from the event, whose guests included Maverick Sabre, Louis Theroux, and band members from Rizzle Kicks, The Xx, and Bombay Bicycle Club, have come our way, and can be found below. Amy is released into Irish and U.K. cinemas this Friday, July 3rd.

BBC Two has revealed the three new Dragons who will join Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden on Dragons' Den.
Duncan Bannatyne, Kelly Hoppen and Piers Linney quit their roles at the end of the 12th series, which concluded on Sunday (March 15) night.
Moonpig.com creator Nick Jenkins, global clothing manufacturer and serial retail entrepreneur Touker Suleyman, and global restaurant entrepreneur Sarah Willingham will begin filming on the 13th series next week.
"I have always preferred the start-up stage to running a larger mature business. It is a more exhilarating journey and requires instinctive, fast decision-making," Jenkins said. "There is often not much information to analyse and the risk of failure is ever present.

Scott & Bailey: ITV, 9pm
In the last of the current fourth series, Dci Gill Murray comes under fire when slaves are discovered on the Pritchard farm, transforming a routine murder inquiry into something else entirely.

This year's prestigious Barclaycard Mercury Prize is eschewing big names when it comes to shortlisting 2014's best albums from the UK, with former Blur and Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn sharing space with newcomers and relatively obscure artists such as Fka twigs, Royal Blood, Bombay Bicycle Club, Nick Mulvey, and others. “This year’s Barclaycard Mercury Prize shortlist confirms that these are fascinating times for UK music”, says Simon Frith, Chair of Judges. “There are seven outstanding debut albums here, and five records by more established artists, all pursuing exciting new directions. What most impressed the judges was the inventive passion with which musicians explore music and emotional possibilities, refusing to be pinned down by rules or genre.” The overall winner of the year will be revealed at the Barclaycard Mercury Prize Awards Show at the Roundhouse in London on Wednesday, October 29. Previous winners in recent years have included James Blake,...

They certainly know how to whip a crowd into a frenzy, and One Direction received a warm welcome from their fans at the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend shindig on Saturday (May 24).
Harry, Zayn, Liam, Louis and Niall sang through seven of their hits including “You and I,” “Story of My Life,” “Best Song Ever” and “What Makes You Beautiful” while the girls of Glasgow went wild.
However, not everyone was impressed by 1D’s stage prowess- a band named Bombay Bicycle Club told Metro that for seasoned singers, the boys certainly left plenty to be desired in the stage presence department.
Singer Jack Stedman lamented, “I wasn’t expecting to enjoy the music but I was expecting to enjoy their showmanship. But they all got on stage and almost just had their hands in their pockets, it was bizarre.”...

London, Feb 3: The Bombay Bicycle Club toured the globe as they sampled weird and exotic foreign sounds for their new album 'So Long, See You Tomorrow'.
Guitarist Jamie MacColl, 24, said that one song, 'Feel,' has a prominent sample from one of the most famous Bollywood pieces of music ever, so they are charging the band a fortune to use it, the Daily Star reported.

What you might gather from the chorus line of the lead single from The Cornerstones’ second album ‘Stand In Line’ (“Send me in to space, take me from this place, then smack me in the face”) is that they’re another tongue-in-cheek indie pop act in a similar vein to The Wombats. You’d be pleasantly surprised, then, to find that – off the cuff lyrics aside – this four-piece outfit from West London offer slightly more than just soft dancefloor anthems.
‘Stand In Line’ sometimes sounds like a lost Stereophonics demo album – it’s got a sting in its tail but you often get the sense it’s more of a collection of songs than an album. Of course, The Cornerstones are still an up-and-coming gang, but the impressive production values of the record almost betrays them this; you find yourself expecting more from them than you really should.

Blur may be headlining an Olympic closing ceremony gig in Hyde Park, but that doesn't mean frontman Damon Albarn supports the "commercialism" behind the two-week spectacle.
"I'm just anti the capitalism of it all," Albarn told The Sun. "We're not doing the gig for the corporate side of the Olympics, we're doing it for the human beings... It feels like you're drowning in commercialism at the moment. It’s depressing."
However, there is one Olympic event that even Albarn wouldn't mind sitting in on: "But I am into the table tennis so I would like to get some tickets for that. It would be an inspiration to see it at that level."
Blur will be supported by New Order, The Specials and Bombay Bicycle Club at the August 12 Hyde Park concert. In April Albarn told The Guardian the band could disband after the gig, which marks the end of the 2012 London Olympics.

Bombay Bicycle Club's third album, A Different Kind of Fix, arrives late and with a certain air of mystery. Any late album comes with the added intrigue of the unknown causes for its delay, the kind of thing that is most likely simple and logical but that we all like to mythologize as the result of drug abuse and in-fighting and broken hearted benders into temporary oblivion.

Bombay Bicycle Club have said that they have not stamped their own mark on the music industry yet. Bassist Ed Nash believes that the indie rockers have continued "borrowing" from other groups in their third, highest-charting album A Different Kind of Fix, released earlier this year. Red Hot Chili Peppers have entered the UK album chart at number one with their tenth studio album I'm With You. It marks the band's fourth number one album in the UK following previous chart toppers Stadium Arcadium in 2006, Live In Hyde Park in 2004 and 2002's By The Way.
I'm With You is the band's first album to feature new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, following the departure of John Frusciante in 2009.
Meanwhile, David Guetta has landed straight at number two with Nothing But The Beat, and Bombay Bicycle Club have scored their highest-charting album to date, with A Different Kind Of Fix reaching number six. Lil Wayne's latest album Tha Carter IV, which is on course to break the iTunes record for single-week album sales, lands at number eight, while Dolly Parton goes straight (more)...
