David Hasselhoff has leapt to the defence of Jason Akermanis following his recent controversies. Akermanis was rumoured to have been dropped from Celebrity Apprentice after threatening the show's boss Mark Bouris and teammates Nathan Joliffe and Lauryn Eagle on Twitter. He also caused outrage for describing late sports star Jim Stynes as "cruel". Hasselhoff, who also took part in this year's Celebrity Apprentice, has hit back at Akermanis's critics, describing his friend as a "true gentleman" who was fun to work with. The Baywatch actor told the Herald Sun: "Sometimes as celebrities we are set up to say something and the press take it in a certain way. It happened to me just three (more)...

Jason Akermanis is believed to have been axed from Celebrity Apprentice. The Australian Football League player, who was thought to have been taking part in the reality TV show alongside stars such as David Hasselhoff and Patti Newton, may have been cut from footage after his recent slurs against late sports star Jim Stynes. According to The Daily Telegraph, a "sneak peak" promo clip of Celebrity Apprentice has been revealed which does not appear to feature Akermanis at all. After allegedly being eliminated from the series in February, messages appeared on Ackermanis's Twitter account directed at Celebrity Apprentice boss Mark Bouris and fellow contestants Nathan Joliffe and Lauryn Eagle. The message for Bouris said: "@markbouris I have a long memory mate. I hope I see you real soon," while (more)...

Today sees the most comprehensive relaunch of an Australian metro or national newspaper in at least five years, with The Sun-Herald showing Sydneysiders its new look.
It’s a definite improvement, and I suspect that in the process of reconfiguring the sections, Fairfax Media is going to save some print costs too. it also reverses most of the changes made in its last redesign about 18 months ago.
Let’s start with the cover.
The first reality kicks in the with new, dark blue masthead. Despite many advances, colour newspaper printing is still something of an imprecise art. In the case of my edition, the dark blue is so dark that the masthead has actually gone black.
The same goes for the headline on the front page teaser for Annabel Crabb’s column.
The major change though is the cover led image. Which by the way strikes me as a good strategy.

With the grand finale airing tonight, Nine’s end-of-year ratings push has been led five nights a week by the FremantleMedia-produced Celebrity Apprentice. Georgina Pearson visits the set during the show’s six-week Sydney shoot to find out how the series came together.
Celebrity Apprentice is an interesting concept; one that perhaps, on paper, could be deemed a marketing nightmare. For how can you take B-grade Australian celebs and replicate the hugely successful multi-billion dollar Donald Trump-helmed hit?
The crew shoot a challenge episode
For the unfamiliar, the premise is fairly simple: 12 celebrity contestants, each vying for a final prize of $100,000 for their chosen charity. Entrepreneur and founder of wealth management company Yellow Brick Road, Mark Bouris, presides as the ultimate boss. Guided by Acp Magazines’ Deborah Thomas and Bouris’ long time right-hand man Brad Seymour, Bouris puts the contestants through their paces with a series of team challenges...

A number of previously fired Celebrity Apprentice Australia stars have returned to the show for the final challenge. Crawford chose Cohen to join him and Campbell, further igniting rumours of a romance between the modelling duo by referring to Cohen as Campbell's "boyfriend". He later called them "lovebirds" and revealed that Cohen is "starstruck" by the former Miss Universe Australia. Pauline Hanson has slammed her former Celebrity Apprentice Australia co-stars. The Australian politician, who was fired by the reality TV show's boss Mark Bouris in Tuesday night's episode (November 15), claimed that she experienced a massive "betrayal" from her colleagues and was unfairly dismissed by Bouris. Hanson told The Daily Telegraph that she started to believe that she was being "set up" by team leader Julia Morris during last week's P&O challenge. She said of comedian Morris: "It was those comments behind the scenes, off camera. You don't know what she's saying. She's trying to be funny, but they're not funny, she's really being bitchy. That's how I've taken it and I don't like it. "I like fair play. I've copped it through politics where you think (more)...

Pauline Hanson has been eliminated from Celebrity Apprentice Australia. The politician, who faced boss Mark Bouris in the boardroom alongside teammate Jason Coleman after they lost a school play challenge, said that she felt proud that she had acted with integrity throughout the competition. As the duo entered the room, Coleman admitted that he was "devastated" to be there, but insisted that he and Hanson were the "underdogs" in the challenge because the other team had comedian Julia Morris on their side. Bouris criticised Coleman for not managing to "maintain control" of the children they were performing for. The choreographer admitted that, after being labelled "mean" by the kids, he was "worried" about his "brand" and dwindling popularity as a celebrity. In a bid to avoid 'backstabbing', (more)...

The Australian former Olympic swimming champion, who was fired by boss Mark Bouris last week after falling out with teammate Jason Coleman, said that she began to fear for her health during the show after having heart surgery a few years ago. Curry told New Idea magazine: "I had expected we would be treated nicely and I thought, 'I didn't sign up for this stress'. I thought my defibrillator was going to go off. I just kept telling myself, 'It's not about celebrity or ego, it's about raising money'.
