The Walking Dead started as a comic series by Robert Kirkman, artists Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard in 2003. Publishes primarily in black and white, the series ran for 193 issues before ending in 2019. AMC acquired the rights for the graphic novel from its creator in 2009, before spawning a full-fledged franchise of The Walking Dead.

Kirkman has also written the comic series for Invincible, which is currently busy producing the third season of its animated series on Amazon Prime. This is why there is speculation about his other comic series also someday getting an animated adaptation. The creator said that while he would love for The Walking Dead to get an animation, it can only happen under one circumstance.

Amazon Prime Video continues developing the Image Comics title "Fear Agent", by Rick Remender and Tony Moore as a live-action TV series, to be directed by David F. Sandberg ("Shazam"):

It is based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The show started in 2010, with an ensemble cast of Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Steven Yeun, among others, and ran for 11 seasons, concluding in 2022.

The show premiered on AMC, and continued there for its entirety. It even spawned a few spin-off shows like Fear the Walking Dead, Tales of the Walking Dead, and more. But did you know, that before AMC grabbed the show by the horn, producer Gale Hurd had initially gone to other networks to have it made?

Based on Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard’s comic book series of the same name The Walking Dead is a post-apocalyptic horror drama series. The show stars Andrew Lincoln as the lead along with the cast including Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Melissa McBride, and more. The series ran from 2010 to 2022 for eleven seasons with 177 episodes.
The third season of the television series was the season that had garnered the most attention and the series received positive response from the critics and the audience. AMC’s post-apocalyptic horror drama has been compared to HBO’s The Last of Us starring Pedro Pascal and now some eagle-eyed fans have pointed out the difference in Lincoln and Pascal’s pay per episode for their respective shows.

This post contains spoilers for the premiere of "The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live."
They finally did it. Just moments into the premiere episode of the new series "The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live," right after audiences catch a glimpse of hero Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) for the first time in over five years, the poor man finally loses a hand.
It's a twist that's been a long time coming for fans of Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard's "Walking Dead" comic books, yet this new spinoff series manages to make it feel utterly shocking nonetheless. In the original comics, cop-turned-world-weary apocalypse survivor Rick gets a surprise amputation courtesy of The Governor as early as issue 28. In the AMC "Walking Dead" universe, however, The Governor came and went an entire decade ago, with David Morrisey in the role of the eye-patch-wearing villain.

The Walking Dead, the long-running post-apocalyptic horror series based on the comic books by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, has finally come to an end after 11 seasons and 177 episodes. The show, which premiered on AMC in 2010, followed a group of survivors led by former sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) as they faced the threats of zombies, hostile humans, and their own inner demons in a world overrun by the undead.
The final season of The Walking Dead, which was split into three parts, adapted material from issues #175–193 of the comic book series and introduced two new factions: the Commonwealth, a large network of communities that had advanced equipment and over fifty thousand survivors living in their settlements; and the Reapers, a mysterious group of hostile survivors that attacked and took Meridian, the former home of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and her new people, the Wardens.

"The Walking Dead" ended in 2022, but it already has more spin-offs than you can shake a stick at. Following the release of "Fear The Walking Dead" and "The Walking Dead: Dead City," fans have been looking forward to "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon." The show will be set in Europe, following former redneck ne'er-do-well Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), the only principal actor returning from the original cast.
"The Walking Dead" originated as a comic book series created by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore. The story follows an ever-dwindling group of survivors in a zombie apocalypse, moving from place to place in search of a safe refuge from the undead "walkers," and also the numerous human dangers they encounter along the way. It made for an often exhilarating (if often frustrating) series that could sometimes feel unfocused and patchy, but Reedus' laconic performance ensured he emerged as a fan favorite.

This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: Dead City season 1 finale.
My mom always taught me that the only thing that happens when you assume is that you make an “ass” out of “u” and “me.” Well sorry, mother, but I assumed AMC’s Maggie and Negan spinoff The Walking Dead: Dead City would be a one-season experience.
The Walking Dead franchise has been around for quite awhile now. First premiering in 2010, the flagship series ran for an impressive 11 seasons and gave way to Fear the Walking Dead (which will wrap up its eighth and final season later this year), The Walking Dead: World Beyond (which ran for two seasons), and many other spinoffs to come including The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and the Rick and Michonne story The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.

Renown comic book artist Tony Moore has posted his own version of Glenn’s death scene from The Walking Dead, and it’s as grisly as you’d expect.
First spotted by Screen Rant, Moore shared the blood-drenched sketch via Instagram late last week before attending Boston’s annual Comic-Con, and even if you only have a passing knowledge of Robert Kirkman’s source material, you’ll be able to recognize the carefully drawn design in an instant. That’s because Tony Moore has been contributing to The Walking Dead since it first hit store shelves back in 2003, when Kirkman’s vision of a perpetually bleak zombie apocalypse was still in its infancy. It wasn’t until 2010 that AMC tapped his magnum opus for the small screen, and the rest is history.

Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead is an outright zombie phenomenon. The comic has spawned two television series, spinoff novels and an ongoing series of video games. Underneath all this, the original comic book is still going strong after an impressive 167 issues. Now, thanks to a video released by AMC, we can revisit that very first issue courtesy of the motion comic you’ll see above.
This is where all the blood, gore, misery and killing time in abandoned buildings started folks, opening with Rick Grimes being shot and ending up in a coma. He awakes to find a collapsed world, flesh-hungry zombies trudging the streets and society having irrevocably broken down. This’ll all seem pretty familiar to any fans of the TV show, as the first episode hewed very closely to the events of Kirkman’s comic.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC on October 23rd and Robert Kirkman is helping promote it on another AMC show, Geeking Out with Kevin Smith and Greg Grunberg. He had some interesting things to say about the ending of both the television and the comic book and how never the twain shall meet. Guesting on Geeking Out, Kirkman addressed a rumor about wanting to end the comic series at the same time the TV series wraps up. His response was a resounding "No." "I hope the show ends and the comic keeps going," Kirkman says of the Image comic he created with artist Tony Moore. "The comic was the comic before the show and so I try to maintain that. Like I know how I want to end The Walking Dead and so I can't tell...anyone because I don't want it on the show before I get it in my comic.

AMC's The Walking Dead is a show about humans trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. Without zombies it wouldn't be The Walking Dead, but apparently that's what NBC was aiming for when it was thinking about picking up the show many years ago. Fans are gearing up for the premiere of Season 7 of The Walking Dead on October 23 and while it's had a great run on AMC, it could have gone down a very different path had the producers not stuck their ground. Both NBC and HBO were looking to adapt Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore's Image comic back in the day but NBC had some very peculiar changes in mind. Variety reported on executive producer Gale Anne Hurd's visit to the Edinburgh International Television Festival where she explained what they wanted. And it's terrible. Before the show was picked up by AMC for domestic and Fox for international,...

The Walking Dead fans, if you have time this coming weekend, we’ve found your Woodstock. You just need to make your way to rural Kentucky. The city of Cynthiana (about 30 miles northeast of Lexington) will play host to The Walking Dead day on August 6. Why Cynthiana? Let’s let the comic’s original artist Tony Moore explain. “My dear ol' hometown of Cynthiana, Ky is celebrating The Walking Dead Day, to honor the the [sic] series and its creators, Robert Kirkman and myself. Fans of the comics will know that not only do Robert and I hail from there, but it's also the site of the opening scenes of The Walking Dead, and the home of Rick Grimes himself!” Moore wrote on his Facebook page. As part of the festival, there will be Twd trivia, autograph signings by Kirkman and Moore, a zombie jail and a costume contest among other festivities.

The Walking Dead is the biggest thing on TV. And now it’s certainly going to be the biggest thing in the small town of Cynthiana, Ky. A giant mural of four major, not-yet-eaten characters from the zombie apocalypse show - Rick Grimes, Carl Grimes, Michonne and Daryl Dixon — was just completed in this town of only 6,300 people. The painting, from Portuguese artist Sergie Odeith, spans the entire side of the Rohs Opera House with faces upwards of 40-feet high. The total project took six days to complete, required 70 cans of spray paint and cost about $8,000. But this doesn’t answer one key question: Why on earth would this town, 50 miles from Lexington, make such a mural? Well, it turns out there’s actually a lot of history related to the show in this small town. Twd comic book creator Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore, the comic's original artist, grew up in Cynthiana.

As you read these words, my Unshaven brethren and I will be in “Cincinnati” for CincyComiCon – Tony Moore’s comic book convention that takes place in the Northern Kentucky Convention Center (which is, funny enough, not in Cincinnati proper). A week ago we were in Atlanta for the famed Dragon Con. The show itself had been promoted to us as “A license to make money,” “Nerd Mardi Gras,” and “The biggest and best fan-run comic convention in the nation.” We were told the absolute truth.
Dragon Con exists not in a behemoth convention center but a gaggle of interconnected hotels and venues in downtown Atlanta. *Walking Dead comic book and filming spoilers ahead*
"The Walking Dead" Season 6 is entering serious comic book territory. The supersized premiere airs October 11, but the second half of the 16-episode season is currently filming in Georgia. Previously, there were clues to filming at Hilltop Colony --an ally community for Alexandria and a major location in the comic -- and a casting notice for someone that sounded like Paul "Jesus" Monroe, a badass Hilltop resident and future Rick Grimes buddy. The Spoiling Dead Fans has fresh updates on Jesus, who appears to now be filming with the group (no name for the actor yet, though).
And now there's a new casting notice for Episode 11 and beyond that has fans kinda split. Is it for Gregory, the tool who runs Hilltop, or Negan, the much-anticipated next major villain?
First, here's TVLine's tease, on Team Negan:
Now I'm really worried that a certain...
