Kelly Clarkson, Peyton Manning and Jimmy Fallon are bringing something new to NBC’s coverage of the upcoming Paris Olympics this summer.
Clarkson and Manning will join sports commentator Mike Tirico to host the opening ceremony July 26, with Fallon and Tirico set to host the closing ceremony Aug. 11.
Clarkson and Manning first revealed their opening ceremony duties during a March appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The next day, NBCUniversal also announced Today hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb would be part of the opening ceremony coverage, set to take place around the River Seine in Paris, rather than in a sports arena as is traditional.
“I’m so glad we can say it,” Clarkson said at the time. “We’ve been holding this forever.”

Savannah Guthrie said she was “devastated” when she lost a job, which she felt was her “big break” in journalism.
It was years before she worked as a co-anchor and chief legal correspondent on NBC News and NBC’s Today.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from the University of Arizona and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.
Savannah’s jobs have included working as a litigation associate, a trial correspondent for CourtTV, and a correspondent for NBC News.
In addition, Guthrie is a bestselling author, having just released her latest book, Mostly What God Does.
She’s worked with NBC News since 2007, but she revealed a field reporter job she held 25 years before that left her worried about her career choice.

Puppeteers working to bring Jim Henson’s Fraggle Rock to life are speaking out about that moment when, on the Today show in February, comic actor Larry David physically attacked beloved Sesame Street favorite Elmo live on-air.
At a press event for the release of Apple TV’s Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock this week, The Hollywood Reporter caught up with puppeteers John Tartaglia (puppeteer for Gobo Fraggle) and Dan Garza (puppeteer for Junior Gorg), who said they were taken aback by David’s unplanned attack on the puppet, which they said could be potentially dangerous for puppeteers.
“You know, there was a person’s hand inside of there and that wasn’t a pretty planned thing. And so the puppeteer in me was like, ‘Oh my god, that’s super dangerous. Like, you just grabbed someone’s hand and twisted it,’” Tartaglia said, confirming that ultimately the puppeteer was Ok.

Harry Smith is moving on. After 12 years at NBC News, veteran correspondent Smith is leaving the network and will begin teaching at his alma mater this fall.
Smith received an emotional farewell send-off Friday from Today show anchors Hoda Kotb, Craig Melvin, Sheinelle Jones, Al Roker and Savannah Guthrie. The show played A Look Back video of his work over the years after which he received a standing ovation from his Today show colleagues.
Smith narrated the five-minute video, concluding by saying: “And it all seems like it happened yesterday.”
“I have nothing but gratitude,” Smith said. “Every time I would always come on this show, I was always welcomed so generously. I’ve had just this unbelievable array of phenomenal experiences since coming to NBC, and so I’m really full of nothing but gratitude. Every time I’ve come on, everyone would drop their phones, pay attention to the story and then respond.

There may not be a more daunting artist from the twentieth century (and beyond) to grapple with in any form than Bob Dylan. The folk music legend is regarded by many as the most influential songwriter of the last 60-plus years, and, at the age of 82, is just as relevant today as he was in his rebellious young adulthood. He pricked the nation's conscience in the early 1960s with classic protest anthems like "The Times They Are a-Changin'," "Blowin' in the Wind" and "A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall," inspiring many a teenager and twentysomething to pick up an acoustic guitar and sing their truth. Then, in what his folkie colleagues/admirers took as a betrayal, he went electric. This would be the first of many confounding transformations. In a way, he kept throwing fans off the scent of the big "Who is Bob Dylan?" question by, every few years, getting...

Playwright Alan Bennett has written original screenplay The Choral, which will begin filming this summer.
There’s a reason a remake of Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads monologues (pictured above) was one of the first things put into production when the pandemic started in 2020. Not only were they easy to film with a single cast member, but the texts are also regarded as modern classics of drama, each story a masterpiece in construction and storytelling. You only have to watch the original versions to see the astonishing power of David Haig in Playing Sandwiches or Dame Thora Hird in A Cream Cracker Under The Settee.
The Choral, meanwhile, is Alan Bennett’s first original script written for the screen in forty years, after 1984 comedy A Private Function. The synopsis reads as follows:
Set in Ramsden, Yorkshire in 1916, the plot centers on the chorus master and most of the men of the ambitious local Choral Society,...

Ralph Fiennes, Jim Broadbent and Simon Russell Beale are starring in 'The Choral'.The actors have signed up to feature in the latest collaboration between director Sir Nicholas Hytner and writer Alan Bennett following on from 'The History Boys' and 'The Lady in the Van'.Unlike the pair's previous films, 'The Choral' is an original script rather than an adaptation of one of Bennett's plays. The movie is set in Ramsden, Yorkshire in 1916 and follows the chorus master and the men in the ambitious local Choral Society, who have volunteered for the frontline during World War I.Under the guidance of the demanding Dr. Guthrie (Fiennes), the Choral recruits a group of teenage boys and girls who discover the joy of singing while the new boys come to terms with the fact that they will soon be serving their country. The film explores the humour and humanity in a community that faces an uncertain future.

NBCUniversal is testing a new game for the Paris Olympics.
The Comcast-backed media conglomerate has for years launched every Summer Games with primetime coverage of the Opening Ceremonies that typically feature a top sportscaster like Mike Tirico or Bob Costas alongside a popular news anchor such as Savannah Guthrie or Katie Couric. In 2024, the company is blowing up the format.
Kelly Clarkson and Peyton Manning will co-host the glitzy launch of NBC’s17 days of Olympics coverage alongside Tirico, with Guthrie and her “Today” co-host Hoda Kotb reporting on the spectacle — a parade of boats on the River Seine — along the route. The move adds some celebrity power to the broadcast at a time when more TV networks are trying to broaden the appeal of their sports portfolios and lure new crowds to games and contests of all sorts — and amortize the costly rights fees required to show them in the process.

The Today Show being criticized for its poor dressing rooms wasn’t on our 2024 bingo card, but thankfully, something good will come of it.
Hoda Kotb has revealed that the hit morning show is upgrading its dressing rooms.
“We are [upgrading them]!” Kotb said.
The 57-year-old shared the news with Page Six at the fifth anniversary of her co-host Jenna Bush Hager’s book club, Read with Jenna.
Hager was on hand to offer her two cents on the imminent upgrade.
“We have four words for you: lipstick on a pig,” she joked.
“Just some wallpaper, some nice fake flowers,” Hager added.
Kelly Rowland reportedly walked off the show after asking for a different dressing room
For those uninitiated, the drama about the show’s dressing rooms started last month when Kelly Rowland reportedly stormed off the show’s set due to her being unhappy with the dressing room she was given.

Kelly Rowland’s new movie with Tyler Perry received criticism following her recent drama on the Today show.
Earlier this month, Rowland appeared in what some called an awkward interview by Savannah Guthrie. She was then rumored to have stormed off the show due to her dressing room situation.
While on Today, Rowland promoted her Netflix movie Mea Culpa, which Tyler Perry Studios produced.
She and Perry are also producers on the film alongside Will Areu and Angi Bones.
The movie officially arrived on the streaming platform last Friday and has received poor feedback.
That included a low overall aggregate score from critics and viewers on the popular Rotten Tomatoes website.
In addition, some viewers have expressed their strong opinions about the film to Rowland on her social media.

Larry David is walking back the on-air apology he issued to Sesame Street’s Elmo Monster after the comic actor throttled and beat the Muppet on NBC’s Today earlier Thursday.
Appearing on Late Night With Seth Meyers, the Curb Your Enthusiasm star explained what motivated his attack on the beloved furry little monster, who was appearing before David on the morning show, alongside his father, Louie, to discuss well-being resources offered by Sesame Street. But in a shocking and — given the camera cuts and surprised looks of hosts Craig Melvin, Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb — seemingly unplanned moment, the high-pitched, 3 1/2-year-old Muppet’s segment was interrupted by David, who had apparently had enough of Elmo’s disquisition.
“Elmo was talking. I was waiting to be interviewed,” David explained to Meyers. “And Elmo was (in Elmo voice) going on about mental health. And I had to listen to every word.

Larry David’s viral attack on Elmo became the focal point of his visit later in the day to “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” where the host grilled David on answers for what would make a person want to attack the beloved “Sesame Street” character on live television. Both David and Elmo were guests on the Feb 1. edition of NBC’s “Today” when David crashed the morning show set during Elmo’s interview and throttled his face.
“The clip is going around online, Larry. You can’t hide from this,” Meyers told David. “Elmo, some might say, is loved by all.”
“Yeah, yeah. I did it,” David said when asked for an explanation. He then impersonated Elmo’s high-pitched voice and continued: “Elmo was talking. I was waiting to be interviewed, and Elmo was going on about mental health and I had to listen to every word. And I was going,...

“Someone had to do it.”
That was the explanation given by Larry David after throttling Elmo on live television, an apparent response to the treacly sentiments of the Sesame Street character. Elmo has been much in the news for asking via X how everyone was doing. This time, he got his answer directly.
The Curb Your Enthusiasm star and Elmo were guests on the Today show Thursday when the confrontation broke out just before an Al Roker weather segment. David walked on and began vigorously choking Elmo.
Elmo was just wrapping up a segment about his viral mental health tweet when David showed him what’s up.
Hosts Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin were stunned, but defended the furry red character. Guthrie told Larry he’d gone too far, and Roker said he wasn’t surprised by David’s actions.
David apologized before his segment on the upcoming Curb Your Enthusiasm season.

Elmo’s having a rough week.
First the internet trauma dumped on the Sesame Street icon after his viral post on X (formerly known as Twitter), and on Thursday morning, Larry David attacked the cheerful red puppet on live TV.
The famously curmudgeonly Curb Your Enthusiasm star was waiting for his upcoming segment to promote his HBO comedy’s final season on NBC’s Today when he seemingly surprised everyone by walking onto an unrelated live segment featuring Elmo, grabbing the puppet’s face and mock pummeling it.
“Somebody had to do it!” David cried.
The moment was purportedly unscripted, with sudden camera cuts to catch up with the action and looks on the faces of hosts Craig Melvin, Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb.
Elmo squeaked out something in reaction that sounded like, “Mr. Larry, Elmo liked you before.”
“Larry, you’ve gone too far this time,” Guthrie chastised.

Larry David was forced to issue an apology on “Today” after he spontaneously attacked Elmo live on camera. The “Curb Your Enthusiasm” creator and the “Sesame Street” icon were separate interview guests on the NBC morning show, but they had a brief crossover moment when David crashed the set and groped Elmo’s face, much to the horror of the “Today” hosts.

James Mangold will be bringing the life and music of Bob Dylan to the big screen with A Complete Unknown. More details on the project here.
With the strikes over, Hollywood is raring to go. Several delayed projects, such as the final season of Stranger Things, season 2 of The Last Of Us and even Michael Mann’s Heat 2 are slowly but surely heading into production this year.
Another severely delayed project is James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown, a Bob Dylan biopic. According to World Of Reel, Mangold is eyeing up a late March shoot in Montreal and New York.
Here’s the plot: “A Complete Unknown follows 19 year old Bob Dylan’s arrival to New York City in 1961 seeking to find his hero, an ailing Woody Guthrie. He is embraced by the New York folk scene who recognize his talent. He finds gigs in downtown clubs and soon becomes a sensation,...

Cocteau Twins have announced vinyl reissues of their final two albums, 1993’s Four-Calendar Café and 1996’s Milk & Kisses. The fresh pressings are out January 12th via 4Ad.
With 24-bit remasters by guitarist Robin Guthrie, the reissues mark the first time both Four-Calendar Café and Milk & Kisses have been released on vinyl in the United States. It also reunites Cocteau Twins with 4Ad after the band left the storied London label for Capitol Records for US distribution in 1988.
Recorded at Cocteau Twins’ September Sound studio in West London, Four-Calendar Café was a departure for the band — in that you could actually sort of understand what Elizabeth Fraser was singing. The record spawned two moderate hits, “Evangeline” and “Bluebeard.”
Its follow-up (and ultimately the band’s swan song), Milk & Kisses, was recorded between September Sound and Pors Poulhan, France. It features the singles “Violaine” and “Tishbite.” Pre-orders for both reissues, which will also be available on CD,...

Murder, money laundering, and people trying to one up each other—that’s how I would describe ITV’s latest crime drama Payback. The plot of the show is extremely dense and often confusing. But it does offer clarity to the audience in the end, nonetheless. In this article, I am going to make an attempt to simplify things for you and analyze the Payback‘s twisted ending.

On Thursday evening, at New York’s Paley Center for Media, NBC Today anchor Savannah Guthrie moderated a panel with the team from NBC’s Sunday Night Football. So it stands to reason that she had to ask the tough questions.
“What do you know about Taylor Swift?” Guthrie said to Mike Tirico, Cris Collinsworth and the rest of the SNF team.
NBC’s game this week sees Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs taking on Zach Wilson and the New York Jets. It was looking like a snoozer, with the Chiefs dominant this season, and the Jets flailing after losing quarterback Aaron Rodgers to an injury just minutes into their first game of the season.
And then Taylor Swift showed up in Kansas City last weekend.
Swift, who is rumored to be dating the Chiefs star Kelce, was captured on camera in the Kelce family suite, laughing with...

U.S. Ambassador to Australia Caroline Kennedy‘s son, Jack Schlossberg, is defending his comments slamming cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for his conspiracy theory-filled presidential run.
In May, Schlossberg posted a video in which he declared, “President John F. Kennedy is my grandfather and his legacy is important.”
He spoke in support of Biden’s presidency, “If my cousin, Bobby Kennedy Jr., cared about any of them, he would support Joe Biden, too. Instead, he’s trading in on Camelot, celebrity, conspiracy theories, and conflict for personal gain and fame.”
Schlossberg also stated in his video that Rfk Jr.’s candidacy was “an embarrassment.”
In an appearance on the Today Show, in response to Savannah Guthrie asked Schlossberg: “What led you to do that? Why was it important to you? Are you glad you did it?”
Schlossberg confirmed that he stands by the message of the video.

NBC News may trump its rivals when it comes to interviewing a certain former Commander-in-Chief.
David Muir, Lesley Stahl, John Dickerson, Chris Wallace, Bill O’Reilly, Kaitlan Collins and Jim Acosta have all tried their hand at interviewing Donald Trump; lobbing questions at him; or moderating a debate or event in which his participation was key. Some have drawn blood and others have been bloodied (and some others left agog as Trump walked out unexpectedly). But anchors and reporters working for NBC News seem to have the most success at keeping him in line while trying to elicit big news out of him.
Kristen Welker has the next turn at bat. She has pre-taped an interview with Trump that is one of the main features of her first broadcast at the helm of NBC News’ “Meet The Press.” The NBCUniversal-backed outlet has already revealed that Trump told her he was...

Bob Dylan has a reputation for being a prickly celebrity, but he also has a soft side, as he proved in a college class. According to Dylan, he flunked out of an important course while enrolled at the University of Minnesota. He shared why his refusal to participate put a dent in his short-lived academic career.
Bob Dylan didn’t last long in a college science class
While Dylan was beginning to take his music career seriously as a high school student, he enrolled at the University of Minnesota to live up to his parents’ expectations. His cousin was the president of a fraternity and agreed to let him stay in the fraternity house the summer before classes started.

Today show lifestyle contributor Jill Martin revealed she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will undergo a mastectomy.
An emotional Martin shared the news this morning on Today.
“This feels like an out-of-body experience,” she said as she choked back tears on Today. “It feels like someone else telling this story. … It’s happened really fast.”
The 47-year-old Martin, who wrote a personal essay about her experience on Today.com, said she had been diagnosed on June 26 after discovering she has a BRCA2 gene mutation, which she inherited from her father, who also tested positive for the mutation.
“I always associated this with something women get and so many people I’ve spoken to have said, ‘I didn’t know this was something men should be tested for,’” Martin said. “Please see your doctors and see if genetic testing is appropriate.”

Johnny Cash was an early fan of Bob Dylan, finding it astonishing that Dylan was able to find success with that type of music. He was also likely impressed when he realized Dylan was just in his early 20s. When Cash first heard Dylan’s music, he thought he was listening to a much older artist.
Johnny Cash thought Bob Dylan was a much older musician
Cash became a fan of Dylan in some of the earliest stages of the singer’s career. He didn’t realize that he was listening to a new, young artist, though.
“The first time I heard him — I don’t know where it was, I believe in Las Vegas — I thought it was an old country singer,” he said, per the book Cash on Cash: Interviews and Encounters With Johnny Cash. “And then I realized somebody told me who he was — and I said,...

Bob Dylan moved to New York with the goal of meeting Woody Guthrie and becoming a musician. He succeeded on both counts; Dylan grew close with Guthrie and his family, and became one of the biggest artists in the world. According to those who knew Dylan before fame, he was incredibly difficult to teach. This was because he preferred to lift techniques from the people around him.
Bob Dylan never wanted to seem like he was learning anything from musicians in New York
When Dylan moved to New York, he met Dave Van Ronk, a folk singer. Van Ronk taught Dylan a great deal, but Dylan didn’t make this clear. To Van Ronk, it seemed like the younger musician wasn’t absorbing anything he taught him.
“He was unteachable!” Van Ronk said, per the book Down the Highway by Howard Sounes. “He had to reinvent the wheel all the time.

Al Roker was back on NBC‘s Today on Tuesday (May 30), doing what he does best, reporting the national weather and bantering with his co-hosts. Mr. Roker, we are so happy to have you back in our studio,” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie said at the top of the show as Hoda Kotb clapped and cheered. “You’ve got a brand new knee! James Mangold's Bob Dylan movie has found its Pete Seeger: "Power of the Dog" star Benedict Cumberbatch is set to play the late folk legend in "A Complete Unknown," according to Deadline (via Rolling Stone). Mangold revealed the casting decision at the Cannes Film Festival this weekend, where his latest movie, "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," just premiered.
If you'd forgotten Mangold was making a Dylan movie, that might be because the first casting news came back in early 2020, when the film was titled "Going Electric." Timothée Chalamet is set to play the soulful musical star at a young age, with Mangold directing and Jay Cocks ("Gangs of New York") penning the script. Chalamet is also set to provide vocals for the performance, which isn't always a sure bet in musical biopics these days -- but he'll be showing off his pipes in "Wonka" first.

John Lennon took inspiration from Bob Dylan for a song from The Beatles’ Help! Paul McCartney said John wished his life was more like Dylan’s. On the other hand, John said he stopped caring about Dylan early in the folk singer’s career.

In the 1997 book Paul McCartney: Many Years From Now, Paul discussed his feelings about Dylan’s musical evolution. “Dylan’s Woody Guthrie period was very nice and I liked him then, but then he had a second wave of popularity when he became more psychedelic and more associated with drugs and at that time John particularly became very enamored of him because of his poetry,” he said.

In the Sixties, Bob Dylan rose to prominence alongside many other artists. It was a significant decade for music, and the artists who found success provided key inspiration for musicians in later decades. Dropkick Murphys team up with Violent Femmes to fight the Ku Klux Klan on the new collaborative track “Gotta Get to Peekskill.” It’s the latest single from Dropkick’s upcoming album, Okemah Rising.
As previously reported, Okemah Rising (due May 12th) is the second Dropkick album to interpret the words of late folk legend Woody Guthrie, following last year’s This Machine Still Kills Fascists.
The song features the distinctive voices of Violent Femmes frontman Gordon Gano and Dropkick Murphys singer Ken Casey, as they trade verses on the track, singing Guthrie’s lyrics about confronting the Ku Klux Klan.
“We had the privilege of collaborating with the Violent Femmes on this feisty track,” said Casey in a press release. “Acoustic Dropkicks sounds a lot like the Violent Femmes in my opinion, so the collaboration is musically and symbolically fitting. And singing a song about fighting the Ku Klux Klan is always extra fun.

In the early 1960s, Bob Dylan released a number of protest songs that kick-started his career. By the mid-60s, he had moved away from protest music, even claiming that he had never had any interest in the genre. It’s difficult to separate Dylan from protest songs like “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “Masters of War,” but he has kept his distance from protest music for the vast majority of his career.
Bob Dylan | Val Wilmer/Redferns Bob Dylan started his career singing protest songs
Dylan has released a number of immediately recognizable protest songs, but he released most of them at the beginning of his career. His 1963 album The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan held many of his classics, like “Masters of War” and “A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall,” were topical and scathing criticisms.
Dylan’s music even brought him to the March on Washington in 1963, which he said was an incredibly moving experience.

Bob Dylan is a notoriously private musician with a reputation for being a bit curmudgeonly, but he has taken the time to praise other musicians. Some are artists he has worked with extensively, some are early idols, and some may surprise Dylan fans. Here are six artists that Dylan has praised over the years.

Woody Guthrie was one of Dylan’s primary influences. He was one of the main reasons Dylan moved to New York, and his influence on Dylan’s early work is apparent. He recalled hearing Guthrie’s music and feeling that his life had changed.
“I put one on the turntable and when the needle dropped, I was stunned-didn’t know if I was stoned or straight,” Dylan wrote in his memoir Chronicles: Volume One, later adding, “All these songs together, one after another made my head spin. It made me want to gasp.

Speaking with Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie on "Today" two days later, Curtis took a moment to reflect on her first-time win and celebrate her trans daughter, Ruby Guest, with the award.

Jamie Lee Curtis has given her Oscars 2023 trophy gender-neutral pronouns in “support” of her youngest daughter Ruby.
The newly minted Oscar-winning actor won her first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress on Sunday (12 March) for her role in the Best Picture winner Everything Everywhere All at Once.
While speaking to NBC’s Today show co-hosts, Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, on Tuesday (14 March), Curtis introduced the golden statue, saying: “Here they are.”
“Have we named her? Does she have a name?” Guthrie asked, before Curtis quickly corrected her, saying: “In support of my daughter Ruby, I’m having them be a ‘they/them’. I’m going to just call them ‘them’.
“They are doing great. They are settling in,” she added, appearing visibly emotional.
“In my life, I never thought in a million years that I would have these couple of days and I’m very moved by the whole thing.

Many musicians point to when they first heard a Bob Dylan song as an important moment in their development as songwriters. Dylan’s writing won him a Nobel Prize — his skill and influence are unquestionable. When Dylan was young, the artist that influenced him the most was Woody Guthrie. Dylan said that hearing Guthrie’s songs changed everything for him.
Bob Dylan | Brian Shuel/Redferns The musician’s friends helped him expand his musical tastes
Dylan briefly enrolled at the University of Minnesota after graduating from high school. When Bob Dylan published his memoir Chronicles: Volume One in 2004, many experts on the musician noted that he lied his way through the book. This wasn’t necessarily surprising to them, though. Since he became a public figure, Dylan has told a number of fictions and half-truths about himself. While this might be damaging to another celebrity, it fits the image Dylan has crafted for himself.

In interviews and his memoir, Dylan has told stories about running away from home as a child, losing contact with his parents, joining the circus, and more. Dylan biographer Clinton Heylin said that entire sections of Dylan’s memoir were essentially fiction.

In the 1960s, Bob Dylan sought out a number of his influences, including musician Woody Guthrie and poet Carl Sandburg. With both men, Dylan arrived at their homes unannounced. While he formed a relationship with Guthrie, he only briefly met with Sandburg. He left their meeting hurt and frustrated that Sandburg hadn’t recognized him.

In the early 1960s, Dylan was on a road trip with friends when he decided to seek out Sandburg. He hadn’t been invited, so he had to seek out the poet’s home based on a vague notion of where he lived. When the group arrived in Flat Rock, North Carolina, Dylan asked residents for directions.
“Don’t know about no poet,” a local man told them, Anthony Scaduto wrote in Bob Dylan: An Intimate Biography (via Rolling Stone). “There’s a Sandburg has a goat farm.

Jamie Lee Curtis is stirring the hearts of early birds and sleepy people everywhere: Earlier this week, she made a call for artists to start playing matinee concerts, specifically naming U2, Coldplay, and Bruce Springsteen to lead the charge.
“I am gonna just say this now as a taunt and as a suggestion: U2, do a matinee,” she told The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet at the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday. “Coldplay: do a matinee. What about a 12-noon concert, Coldplay? What about it?”
Continuing, the 64-year-old actress then turned her questioning to a fellow icon of the ‘80s: Bruce Springsteen, who not only doesn’t play matinees, but is known for behemoth, five-hour concert spectaculars. “Bruce Springsteen: do a fucking matinee!” she said. “You’re old! Why wouldn’t you let me come see you, Bruce Springsteen, in your glory days — pun intended — and do it at noon or 1 o’clock?...

Hoda Kotb has returned to NBC’s Today, after a two-week absence that led to widespread panic and concern over her well-being. It was revealed on Friday that her absence was due to a “family health matter” and that she would be returning soon.
Returning to Today on Monday morning, Kotb revealed that her youngest daughter, three-year-old Hope, had been “in the ICU for a few days, and then in the hospital for a little more than a week.”
“I’m so grateful she’s home… I was waiting for that day to come, and we are watching her closely. I’m just so happy,” Kotb told her co-host, Savannah Guthrie, who had also just returned to Today after testing positive for Covid-19.
Reflecting on her past few weeks Kotb said that “When your child is ill, the amount of gratitude you can have for people who helped you out.
