Lisa M. Mangan was born at Hahn, AFB in Germany. Her father had a
lengthy career in the Air Force and later in the energy management
field. Her mother held two careers also: first in real estate then in
advertising/publishing. She owns her own publishing company.
Lisa's sister is a very successful accountant.
Because her father's military career lead to several relocations, she attended 14 different schools before she graduated from high school. Lisa graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. In 2014, she earned a Master of Science degree in leadership from Grand Canyon University.
Her first job was as an usher at a movie theatre and she later became the Marketing Manager. Her initial theatre was actually the first multiplex (10 auditoriums) in the US. She later worked at a video store, television station, independent production company, media department, and worked on an independent film.
Between media jobs, she had a career in behavioral health and worked at treatment centers and mental health hospitals, including a 1-year stint at the Arizona State Hospital on the male forensic unit.
Lisa has always had a love for writing and was singled out by her 5th grade teacher for character development in creative writing assignments. She began writing poetry as a teenager. Lisa also earned the 7th grade award for English, a writing contest in 8th grade and the Director's Award for Orchestra in 9th grade.
She is also a contributing writer for The Mighty.
