Long ago, Room 9 of the Johnson/Bedford Inn, located in a remote small town, was the site of a gruesome double murder. Decades later, with the town terrorized once again by a string of bloody ritual killings, a mysterious woman named Star arrives to investigate and suffers bizarre flashbacks related to the inn’s slayings. Is she connected to the killings…or the inn’s next victim?
I’m not going to lie, I was attracted to Room 9 – the debut feature of writer/director Thomas Walton – purely on the basis that it featured three performers whose names are synonymous with horror: Kane Hodder, Michael Berryman and Scout Taylor-Compton. "These murders... seem personal." Lionsgate has debuted an official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Room 9, the latest feature from actor / filmmaker Thomas Walton. This is getting a direct-to-dvd release which is pretty much already an indication of the quality, with a derivative plot that sounds similar to so many other mystery thrillers. Life altering sins of the past revisit modern day lost souls in a small town... 40 years later. A mysterious woman arrives to investigate the site of a murder and suffers bizarre flashbacks related to the inn's slayings. Is she connected to the killings... or the next victim? The film stars Michael Berryman, Scout Taylor-Compton, Brian Anthony Wilson, Kane Hodder, Michael Emery, and Adam Ratcliffe. This looks like extra schlocky shock horror, which might be fun for some folks out there. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Thomas Walton's Room 9, direct from YouTube: Long ago, Room...

*full disclosure: an online screener of this film was provided by Indican Pictures. **there are mild spoilers here. Director: Eric Liberacki. Writer: John Lerchen. Cast: Scout Taylor-Compton, Michael Emery, Domenica Cameron-Scorsese, Ari Lehman and Naomi Grossman. The Lurker is a slasher film from writer John Lerchen (The Pale Man) and director Eric Liberacki (Spoiled Fruit). This film is scheduled for a Spring release and centrally stars Scout Taylor-Compton as the easy to remember Taylor. Taylor-Compton must carry most of this film as she appears in most of the scenes. And, these scenes primarily consist of a high school rendition of Romeo & Juliet, or of partying the night away. Meanwhile, a knife wielding critic is knocking-off most of the cast. Ari Lehman also stars, with much of the acting performed decently. A big character reveal comes in the final scenes, along with one or possibly two killers' motivations. The resolution comes with a flurry of.

"Let me be clear - you and I, we are not a love story." The Orchard has debuted an official trailer for an indie dramedy titled The Sweet Life, a romantic fable about two people struggling in thier own way who decide to travel together across the Us. Their plan is to make it to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco so they can both commit suicide together. Of course, along the way they discover just how great it is to enjoy life together. Chris Messina and Abigail Spencer co-star, along with Tyson Ritter, J.D. Evermore, Karan Soni, Chris Aquilino, and Michael Emery. This honestly doesn't look that good, but I am a big fan of Chris Messina, plus I am hoping there's an earnest side to this that makes it worth a watch. Have fun.
