Nico Wheadon

Nico Wheadon is a New York-based writer, curator and creative
consultant. She holds an MA in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship
from Goldsmith's College, University of London, and a BA in Art
Semiotics and Literary Arts from Brown University.
Between 2006 and 2010, Nico worked as Curatorial Assistant at The Studio Museum in Harlem, Curatorial Director at Rush Arts Gallery, and guest-curated exhibitions at P.P.O.W. Gallery, Scope International Art Fair, The Roger Smith Hotel, Verge Emerging Art Fair and The Catalina Hotel.
During this time, she also contributed to exhibition catalogues and artist's books, and published essays, features and reviews as a contributing writer at Studio Magazine, NuktaArt: Contemporary Art Magazine of Pakistan, and ArtVoices Magazine. For this work, she was invited to guest-lecture at Pratt Institute, Howard University and Cooper Union, and served on artist selection panels at Fashion Center BID and Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop.
In 2010, Nico moved to London to pursue her Master's and conduct fieldwork research in arts-led social regeneration. Using the London 2012 Summer Olympics as a case study, she worked with local community arts organizations and city government to come up with creative, long-term solutions for development projects surrounding the Olympic site.
Nico lives and works in Brooklyn. In addition to her professional pursuits, she continues to produce work as a photographer. She has been commissioned by leading UK lifestyle brands and has exhibited her work at Aljira, Little Wing Performance Space, The Division of Human Works, Hudson Guild, The Ivy Film Festival, David Winton Bell Gallery and The Rome International Film Festival.
