Initially gaining recognition through his social media presence and YouTube content, Paul has since expanded his career into acting, and wrestling and has also achieved notable success as an entrepreneur.

While shows like WandaVision and Loki seem to be all anyone can think of when someone says “Marvel TV,” let’s not forget where it all began. Marvel Television was created all the way back in 2010 and the first project that was released through it was Agents of Shield in which actress Ming-Na Wen played the role of Melinda May.
ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
And now, Ming-Na Wen has finally spoken up about the division between the shows created for traditional television and those developed for streaming platforms. The actress believes that her show, Agents of Shield, deserves an accolade or acknowledgment for launching Marvel Studios into the television space.

With the massive success of the Invincible TV series, Skybound Entertainment has decided to expand into the gaming industry as they plan to release a Aaa game based on the iconic comics and TV series. Despite being one of the most popular franchises in the world, Skybound is still relying on crowdfunding for the Invincible video game.
A still from Invincible
Skybound has set up an investment opportunity for the fans on the Republic investment platform, allowing people to invest a minimum of $100 into the game. They have already raised $18 million from everyday investors and fans through Republic/Seedrs, so why do they need crowdfunding again? The strange part of this investment is that people who invest will not even get equity in the company as Skybound has the right to decide in the future if they want to provide investors with equity.

Invincible ended its second season with a bang. In the classic Multiverse of Madness-style, there is an entire sequence where Mark is thrown from one universe to another, each having some or the other Easter egg. From Spider-Man showing up in the form of Agent Spider, who was fighting Prof. Ock, to Invincible making fun of Batman’s name on a rooftop, this part of the episode was fun, to say the least.
Invincible
On top of these references, there was also a universe plagued with zombies, making a not-so-subtle nod to just how many people from The Walking Dead are a part of the series. One would assume that one of these three cameos would be favored by the show’s creator, Robert Kirkman. However, it would seem that something else had him a lot more excited; a split-second cameo of a gun.

Invincible Season 2 Episode 8 referred to one of the earliest jokes in the series, one concerning a certain archeologist with a beetle tattoo, who gets buried in the sand because Mark summons a sandstorm by flying too low.
This occurred way back in Episode 4 of Season 1. Episode 8 of Season 2 had Chloe Bennet (Quake from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) play a companion to the daughter of this archeologist. Bennet’s character was called Riley, while the archeologist’s daughter, voiced by Ella Purnell (of Arcane fame), was called Jane.

Riley, Jane, Jane’s father, and Ka-Hor (the mummy that they resurrect ) are not a part of Invincible comics. These characters are original entries into the show and seem to be of no consequence as of now.

While the first season splattered the Invincible logo with blood as the episodes progressed, symbolizing the lies and the violence that Mark is going to face going forward, Season 2 sees the title crack and chip, revealing a black and blue version of it, which super-fans know does not bode well for the enemies of Invincible.
Mark, in his classic blue, yellow, and black suit
Coming to the Season 2 finale, Mark will most probably switch his suit colors to the second iteration of his outfit, one that Art makes for him because the first suit has ‘too many colors’. In addition to the color switch, which will be black and blue, the suit will also no longer have knee and elbow pads, given that it makes no sense for someone called Invincible to wear so much protective gear.

Since the Infinity Stones saga ended, Marvel has tried to expand the stories on the television screen. The MCU has flourished on the small screen, as it allows more room and time for character development.
The studio has found critical success, and the quality of the stories was not affected by the change. However, as several series came under the expanded universe of Marvel, Disney is still far from making one of their most beloved shows part of the current MCU timeline—Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Unlike a movie, a TV show is not generally meant to be consumed in a single sitting. It is, at least in theory, designed to be enjoyed episode by episode. So having already celebrated the best series of the year (and the best TV performances), we’re here now to highlight a few individual chapters that particularly stood out to us from our hundreds and hundreds of hours of viewing.
As a rule, we excluded any title that had already made either of our individual top 10s. (Sorry, Richie episode of The Bear. And “Long, Long Time” from The Last of Us. And half this season of Succession. Half this season of Reservation Dogs. And, and, and …) This was in part to save ourselves the trouble of singing praises we’ve already sung so many times before, but mostly in an effort to spread the love. For the same reasons,...

It must be kind of difficult for any modern-day animated filmmakers to make a film that is going to be popular. Outside of Disney/Pixar, Dreamworks and Studio Ghibli, It’s hard to get noticed. Laika are perhaps the most successful outside of the big few production companies and they did it by making several great animated movies, including Coraline, The Boxtrolls and Kubo and the Two Strings. But it’s easy to see why the poster for Rally Road Racers says in bold ‘From The Producer Of Shrek’. Unfortunately, that might be one of the few reasons some viewers might give the movie a chance.

Most animated features are designed to be exported to countries all over the world, the voice track redubbed for each local market to add flavour and ensure the kids don’t have to read subtitles. Likewise, having the characters incarnated by talking animals (a tradition dating back to the earliest days of animation), is another handy way to deracialise the material. This way, anyone anywhere watching the same movie can relate to the heroic dog or rabbit or whoever as they go about learning about the value of family or the importance of friendship in a fantasy landscape that bears little resemblance to our actual planet.
This one, apparently a multinational effort judging by its end credits and production companies, weirdly both conforms to and breaks those rules.

Los Angeles, July 22 (Ians) The popular American animated superhero series ‘Invincible’ has just released the teaser trailer for its upcoming Season 2. The teaser takes place in the aftermath of Invincible’s brutal confrontation with his father, Omni-Man in the finale of Season 1.
It’s mostly just a reel to hype up the massive star-studded voice cast, without much in the way of actual footage leaving things pretty obscure.
Based on the Robert Kirkman graphic novels of the same name, the series revolves around teenager Mark Grayson as he develops superpowers akin to his father, the world’s most powerful hero Omni-Man, only to eventually learn of a dark secret behind his father’s past while dealing with his own powers. After all, ‘With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility’, it may be an overused line in Spiderman, but is applicable for all supers and even in real life.

Major spoilers for the “Dave” Season 3 finale below.
It’s always shocking to see megastars like Brad Pitt and Drake appear on television, but it’s even more surprising to see them on “Dave,” Fxx’s comedy about an aspiring rapper by the name of Lil Dicky. As huge as these stars are, securing them was “really not that complicated,” according to series creator, writer, executive producer and star Dave Burd.

Season Three of Dave was all about the show’s title character — rapper Dave Burd, aka Lil Dicky, aka the star, co-creator, and one of the executive producers of the Fxx comedy (which streams the day after on Hulu) — finally achieving his goal of international fame. After faking his own death — or, rather, allowing people to mistakenly believe he was dead for a day without telling anyone otherwise — he became a...

Throughout the third season of FX comedy Dave, Lil Dicky’s friend and aspiring director Emma has been shooting a documentary about the rapper’s search for romance. In the latest episode, which aired May 24, it’s finally finished.
After Dave (played by Dave Burd, known as Lil Dicky) tries to micromanage the editing of the Lil Dicky Looking For Love documentary, Emma incorporates that into the doc and it catches him by surprise during a family and friends screening. Afterward, Dave tells Emma he feels manipulated — “but in the most artistic way possible” — and says he has some notes before it’s released. Emma isn’t having it, and calmly tells him that it’s her documentary not his and “there will be no more notes.”
It’s a big moment for Emma, showing a kind of boldness Christine Ko says she’s excited to see for her character.

Chloe Bennet has been making a name for herself in the acting world, from seven successful seasons as Quake, on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to voice acting in Abominable, the first animation film in 21 years to star an Asian female character and a fully Asian family since Mulan. Her recent role on Fxx’s Dave has shown more of her down-to-earth personality as his main love interest, Robyn. We spoke with her about working with her close friend, Dave Burd, the importance of representation on-screen, and what’s next for her in her career. Many probably know you from Marvel with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and of course now with Dave — tell me a little bit how your friend asked you or convinced you to join the cast. Chloe Bennet: I’ve been friends with Dave for a while and was pretty aware of the character. And I think there’s definitely...

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers for Episode 9 of “Dave,” now streaming on Hulu.
Christine Ko’s Emma, the unaffected cool chick in Lil Dicky’s friend group in “Dave,” has been filming a documentary throughout the third season of the FX comedy, which follows Dave Burd’s autofictional title character as he embarks on a “Looking for Love” tour across America.
But the finished product isn’t quite what Dave expects, as Emma includes hidden camera footage of their editing sessions — which paints Dave as obsessive and controlling — in the final cut of the documentary.
After a family and friends screening, Dave tells Emma he was impressed by the movie, but felt “manipulated” by her, arguing that he never gave her permission to film the editing sessions. When he begins to offer feedback, Emma cuts him off: “This isn’t our thing. It’s mine. I’m not compromising my vision for anything…...

[Editor's Note: This post contains spoilers for Dave Season 3, Episode 8, "Met Gala."]
Things couldn't be better for Dave (Dave Burd) at the beginning of this week's episode, "Met Gala." Not only is his career finally taking off post-death scam, but his relationship with Robyn (Chloe Bennet), the photographer he met in Wisconsin, is thriving. They're experimenting with "condiment-based handjobs," co-parenting their elephant in Africa, and rolling around in bed in a way that reflects their total comfort with one another. For the first time since breaking up with Ally (Taylor Misiak) in Season 1, Dave is romantically satisfied — which makes it even more upsetting that Rachel McAdams threatens to blow it all up.

The CW can never hold Kitty! How’s that for a deep cut? Don’t worry, Powerpuff Girl fans. I’ve got your back. Some unfortunate news is coming out of Townsville today. The CW is no longer developing several live-action series, including The Powerpuff Girls, the Archie series Jake Chang, the Arrowverse show Justice U, and a female-led Zorro. The same fate goes for all series left over from former CW president Mark Pedowitz’s tenure.
“We’ve already given those back to the studios,” Brad Schwartz, The CW’s President of Entertainment, explained to TVLine after an Upfront presentation, adding, “so they’re free to develop those and sell them anywhere.”
Shutting down development on the abovementioned projects comes as Hollywood struggles to negotiate with the WGA during the most recent writer’s strike. With no timeline for when writers will return to work, more shows could be...

After seven seasons playing Daisy “Skye” Johnson on Agents of Shield, a recurring role on FX comedy Dave was a big change of pace for Chloe Bennet — especially when she’s playing Lil Dicky’s love interest and the show’s star and creator, Dave Burd, is one of her best friends.
Season three sees Lil Dicky on the road on his “Looking for Love Tour,” during which he meets Bennet’s character, a photographer named Robyn. In episode seven, which aired May 10, Robyn comes to L.A. to visit Dave and is faced with one surprise after another. First she learns is it’s his birthday week, then she’s been tasked by his friends with tricking him into showing up at a party at the beach where she’ll meet his parents — and on the way there, he admits that he can’t ride a bike and, more importantly,...

A few new titles open this weekend, some quite moderately, in the hopes of offering something unique to rival “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.” Remember, it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday, where the moms get to pick the movie for once. Read on for Gold Derby’s box office preview.
Regardless of the number of new entries this weekend, Marvel’s “Guardians,” directed by James Gunn, will remain above the rest with a second weekend of around $50 million or more, capitalizing on positive word-of-mouth from audiences from its opening.
Released by Focus Features into 3,000 theaters is the comedy sequel “Book Club: The Next Chapter,” once again starring Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candace Bergen and Mary Steenburgen, along with Andy Garcia, Don Johnson and Craig T. Nelson. In the movie, once again written and directed by Bill Holderman and Erin Simms, Bergen’s Sharon is getting married, and her...

E!’s third original rom-com Married by Mistake, starring Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. vet Chloe Bennet, is definitely not a Hallmark Channel movie.
For starters, Bennet’s character Riley wakes up in bed with a man, in TVLine’s exclusive trailer, and from there, things get spicier with talk of sex and orgasms! (Like we said, we’re definitely not in Hallmark’s wholesome Kansas anymore.) What follows is a series of delightful and classic rom-com tropes, including a marriage of convenience (with awkward kissing) and a love triangle involving two brothers.

Move over, Hallmark, E! is coming for your made-for-tv rom-com crown this winter. On Jan. 15, the cable channel announced it will be rolling out three new romantic-comedy movies featuring all of the tropes fans of the genre love (small towns! royals! accidental marriages!), but with an added dash of spice thrown in for good measure. The movies, which will begin airing on Feb. 19, are just the start of the channel's rom-com efforts. According to a press release, three more swoonworthy films will premiere later this year.
In addition to sharing details about the upcoming movies, E! also released a trailer touting the three films - and seemingly throwing a little shade at Hallmark. "We all love rom-coms where the big-city girl finds love in a small town, but are you thirsting for more?" a voiceover asks before cutting to lots of shirtless scenes and candid sex talk.

For Rian Johnson, “Poker Face” — his upcoming Peacock series with Natasha Lyonne — is a love letter to the shows he grew up watching, like “Rockford Files,” “Columbo” and “Quantum Leap,” he told journalists at NBC’s Winter Press Tour for the Television Critics Association.
Watching reruns of those classic shows had become a bit of a guilty pleasure for the Oscar-nominated “Glass Onion” writer-director, who explained, “I had no idea what order they were in and that was part of the pleasure of it.”
Alongside those classic series, Johnson had seen Lyonne’s Netflix dramedy “Russian Doll” and made an observation: “The big ingredient I knew I needed for a show like what I just described is a charismatic figure at the heart of it, because ‘Columbo,’ ‘Rockford Files,’ as much as those shows are mysteries, what really brings you back each week is you want to hang out with the main character.
