Before he became a filmmaking auteur, Stanley Kubrick was a photographer — snapping shots as a photojournalist for Look magazine when he was only 17-years-old. Vintage gurus VandM recently selected 25 of the 10,000 prints Kubrick photographed in his early years and have made them available to purchase as prints for the first time. The majority of the proceeds will benefit the Museum of the City of New York — the big city being the focus of Kubrick's dramatic lens. The black-and-white shots of the Big Apple in the '40s document everything from showgirl Rosemary Williams applying makeup while a curious Kubrick looks on, to performers from Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and Dwight Eisenhower before he became President.
