Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk had one of the most stagnant character arcs in the MCU, despite the hero being a crucial part of the Avengers team. While behind-the-scenes issues played a major part in the MCU’s failure to explore this character, even solving those issues may no longer help Hulk’s story. The universe has already introduced another superhero dealing with multiple personality disorder — Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight — which undermines the Hulk’s defining characteristic from the comics.

It’s unfortunate, but most streaming shows (and movies for that matter) never get a physical release, but thankfully, Disney has been releasing some of their most popular Marvel and Star Wars shows on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray. Following in the footsteps of Loki season 1, WandaVision, and the first two seasons of The Mandalorian, Disney announced today that they will be releasing collector’s editions of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Moon Knight, Andor, and Obi-Wan Kenobi on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray. Hurray for physical media!

Marvel’s Moon Knight followed Oscar Isaac in the first season as he played a man suffering from dissociative identity disorder (Did) who not only has multiple personalities or ‘alters’, but also serves as a vessel for the Egyptian god Khonshu. Since Isaac’s Marc Spector / Moon Knight was first introduced in the MCU almost two years ago, many fans have been wondering if Jeremy Slater’s miniseries will ever see the release of a second season.
In October 2022, the Show Me a Hero actor, 44, revealed that he had begun talks with Marvel Studios about reprising his role as Moon Knight, either in a sequel series or in a different project. Isaac was concerned about creating a “worth telling” and “interesting” backstory for his character.

Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight debuted back in 2022 and was among MCU’s most hotly anticipated projects. The series was set to introduce Marc Spector / Moon Knight, a fan-favorite if underrated character from the pages of Marvel Comics and the intricate web of psychological drama and vigilante action that surrounds the character.

However, despite receiving mostly positive reviews, the series has been deemed a disaster by some critics. Given the depth of Marc Spector / Moon Knight’s characterization in the comics and the darker themes associated with his stories, many expected it to be Marvel’s answer to DC’s dark and gritty Batman. Here is why Moon Knight’s comparisons with Batman are inaccurate and where the series truly failed to deliver.

This post contains slight spoilers for Marvel's "Hawkeye" and key storylines from Marvel Comics.
Maya Lopez, also known as Echo, is a familiar name for those who witnessed her on-screen debut in "Hawkeye," where she was seen working for Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) before learning the truth about her father's death. Played by Alaqua Cox, Lopez evolved significantly as a character who started with a thirst for revenge but had to contend with some unsavory truths about the people she had sworn allegiance to. Cox is set to reprise her role in the highly-anticipated "Echo," which intends to further explore her story after the events of "Hawkeye," with Fisk's men hounding her as she attempts to reconnect with her roots.

That book will hit shelves on 12 March next year, followed by What If…? Wanda Maximoff And Peter Parker Were Siblings by Seanan McGuire in July and then What If…? Marc Spector Was A Host To Venom by Mike Chen in October.

Oscar Isaac is an actor known for his adaptability, with his latest work, Moon Knight, showcasing this excellently. He skillfully portrayed the kind-hearted yet somewhat clumsy Steven Grant and contrasted it brilliantly with the ethically ambiguous character of Marc Spector. The brilliance of his performances lies in the distinctiveness of his portrayals. This made it evident that each character adheres to a separate moral compass. His previous experiences with complex roles facilitated Isaac’s stunning performance in Moon Knight. He’s an uncommon talent in the acting world, having thrived in portraying both protagonists and antagonists without being typecast. Whether he’s embodying...

Pedro Pascal and Oscar Isaac's friendship goes way back - seriously; the duo met before they were even famous. Pascal and Isaac actually appeared in an off-Broadway play together in 2005. They later worked together on 2019's "Triple Frontier," and eventually, Pascal joined Isaac in the Star Wars universe.
"We have very similar backgrounds," Pascal told Esquire in April 2022 about their bond. "We're both children of Latin immigrants, so there's sort of a cultural familiarity, then at the same time we're both actors. We have the same dreams. It's something very special because it can be a lonely journey when you're out there going after - it sounds corny, but going after your dreams, and to find family along the way." Pascal joked, "The other side of it is that he's the younger brother I never wanted."

As if "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" wasn't perfect enough, the post-credits scene added one more webslinger to its already stacked cast of Spider-People. Just when you thought the film couldn't get better, Miguel O'Hara a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099 was introduced on-screen in his blue and red suit, voiced by Oscar Isaac. Though the scene was technically a sequel tease, it managed to not feel cynical or grating by doing things "Spider-Verse style." It wore its love for the Marvel hero as a cultural icon on its sleeve instead of baiting the audience with cheap cliffhangers. Humorously, the first thing 2099 does with his new multiverse-hopping tech is a time jump back to the 60s' "Spider-Man" animated series to recreate the beloved "Spider-Man pointing" meme.

This article contains MCU spoilers.
It’s over! It’s officially over. Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally in our rear view mirror, and what did we learn? We learned that Marvel Studios wasn’t going to stop taking risks after capping off Phase 3 with the box office juggernaut of Avengers: Endgame. In fact, they were going to take more risks than ever. Sometimes, those risks paid off. Other times, they did not. But during a transformative time for the MCU, Phase 4 was, for the most part, determined not to offer the one thing that would have made older fans happy but would have perhaps discouraged newer, younger fans from emerging: more of the same.
As such, the MCU got a whole slate of brand-new and diverse characters. Moon Knight, the Eternals, Ms. Marvel, Shang-Chi, She-Hulk, Kate Bishop, Yelena Belova, John Walker, Ironheart, Agatha, Red Guardian, Clea, Echo,...

It didn’t take very long for the ancient god Khonshu to become a breakout character from the Disney+ Marvel series “Moon Knight.” In the show’s second episode, Khonshu – a giant figure with a large bird skull for his head who was voiced on the show by Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham – implores his avatar Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac) to dispatch the villain with a bit of casual violence. “Kill him! Break his windpipe,” Khonshu grumbles with urgency.
“That seems to be a very popular line,” Abraham tells Gold Derby in an exclusive video interview. “On the street, people recognize me, and they’ll shout it to me. It’s really outrageous.”
Released this year, the six-episode “Moon Knight” focuses on Marc Spector (also Isaac), a former mercenary who suffers from dissociative identity disorder – hence the aforementioned personality Steven, a British museum employee. Years earlier, when on the cusp of death,...

This Moon Knight article contains spoilers.
“Why else would we be in Cairo?” When Oscar Isaac asked that question in a viral TikTok video with director Mohamed Diab, it sparked hopes that a new season of Moon Knight was in the works. After all, since the first season ended its run in May, there has been no clear sign of what the future holds for Marc Spector, Steven Grant, and Jake Lockley in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Between the show’s lack of clear connection to the rest of the MCU and the single-season deal signed by Isaac, many wondered if the series would return for another go around at all. But while no official announcement has been made, the video — and Diab’s decision to share it with the header “Moonknight season 2?” — seems to indicate that Marc Spector and his many personalities could indeed return to television screens.
Sooooo Moon Knight Season 2 Or pic.

Ethan Hawke has revealed that he looked to real-life titans to craft his portrayal of “Moon Knight” villain Arthur Harrow, a zealot associated with the god Ammit on a righteous mission that turns murderous.
“For me, it was like putting Jimmy Swaggart, Leo Tolstoy, [Fidel] Castro, the Dalai Lama, and Josef Mengele into a blender,” Hawke told USA Today of playing a charismatic cult leader with devious intentions. “That was the fun of it: What if Steve Jobs was a bad guy?”
Of course, the conflicting sides of multiple alter egos is the crux of “Moon Knight,” which stars Oscar Isaac in the title role as a military veteran battling mental illness who receives the powers of the ancient Egyptian god Khonshu. Isaac plays Marc Spector, Steven Grant, and Moon Knight — all variations living within the same man who “meet” one another. The six-episode series premieres March 30 on Disney+.

We're getting closer to the next Marvel Disney+ show "Moon Knight," and we're learning more about Oscar Isaac's Steven Grant. Executive producer Grant Curtis spoke to USA Today about Grant's dilemma in the series, saying:
"It's a story about identity and finding one's true self. The journey that Marc Spector [his alternate identity] is on during our whole show is: Who am I? And how do I reconcile portions of my past, present, and potential future that I don't necessarily agree with? Coming to terms with our baggage and our learning to live with ourselves is what we all deal with on a day-to-day basis."

The latest teaser for Marvel’s Moon Knight has plenty of exciting action shots and hints of mystery. We get to see Oscar Isaac playing both desert-bound mercenary Marc Spector and timid English shopkeeper Steven Grant, but you may have noticed that the show seems a little scarier than your average MCU offering!
Not only does Ethan Hawke’s cult leader Arthur Harrow give off creepy vibes, but the teaser is filled with jump scares. There’s even a menacing, skeletal creature sure to be the Egyptian god Khonshu, who resurrects Spector and makes him his earthly agent.
Really, the tone shouldn’t be too much of a surprise because Moon Knight has his roots in horror. The character first appeared in Werewolf by Night #32 (1975) as a bounty hunter sent to capture the lycanthropic Jack T. Russell. Writer Doug Moench, who co-created Moon Knight with artist Don Perlin, has a...

The Moon Knight featurette dives into Steven Grant’s (Oscar Isaac) struggle with the effects of dissociative identity disorder, plus a closer look at the show’s story. Moon Knight follows Grant, “a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.” The new Moon Knight clips show Isaac, costars Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy, Marvel president Kevin Feige, and director Mohamed Diab explain the world of the series and how they approached Steven’s mental health struggles. Marvel’s next TV series “Moon Knight” hit Disney+ this month and, according to series star Oscar Isaac, it won’t be shying away from the complicated discussion around its hero’s mental health.
In a new featurette, fans get a little bit more insight on the next hero to join the MCU, from both Isaac, and the series’ stars and directors. In the new footage, Isaac notes that tactfully handling a character that is inhabited by multiple personalities was a priority.
“Our job was to kind of put a lens on the things that had the most dramatic juice and ultimately take the mental health aspect incredibly seriously,” Isaac says.
In the comics, Moon Knight is Marc Spector, a former CIA agent-turned mercenary who was almost killed by his nemesis, before his life was saved by the Moon God Khonshu. Four different personalities all fight for control over his...

August of 2019 seems like a lifetime ago but it was then that audiences first heard that the new Disney+ streaming service would be home to a host of original television shows boasting their favorite Marvel characters. In front of an enthusiastic audience at the D23 Expo that year, alongside the likes of “WandaVision” and “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” it was announced that Disney+ would premiere “Moon Knight.”
Because of the pandemic, the show struggled to get moving before Oscar Isaac was announced to play Marc Spector, the man who becomes Moon Knight. Isaac is no stranger to the Disney world, having played Poe Dameron in three of Disney’s recent “Star Wars” movies and makes his Marvel debut with the show. “Moon Knight” comes from Mohamed Diab and “The Endless” and “Synchronic” filmmakers Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. Ordinarily, attributing authorship of superhero comic book characters (i.e. which writers and artists created them) is relatively simple. For example, the character of Marc Spector — the white-clad quasi-mystic vigilante Moon Knight — made his debut in 1975's "Werewolf by Night" #32 by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin. However, the characters of Steven Grant and Jake Lockley weren't introduced until 1980's "Moon Knight" (Vol. 1) #1 by writer Doug Moench (again) and artist Bill Sienkiewicz, even though both characters are also Moon Knight. While the character first donned his...

With its Super Bowl teaser earning over 3 million views and counting in less than a day, all signs point to “Moon Knight” being one of the biggest television series of the spring. The show marks Oscar Isaac’s introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Marc Spector, a former CIA operative turned mercenary who dies during a job in Sudan but is revived and turned into the conduit of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Isaac recently told Empire magazine that “Moon Knight” is a character study the likes of which the MCU has rarely seen.
“Often on these big movies it can feel like you’re building the plane on the runway,” Isaac said. “The idea of getting back to ‘handmade’ films, character studies… I was desperate for that feeling. [‘Moon Knight’] felt handmade. And it’s the first legitimate Marvel character-study since ‘Iron Man.’ I thought, ‘Maybe I can hijack this thing.

While many Marvel fans looked at the coming of the Eternals with a confused shrug, Moon Knight gets a celebrated, “Finally!” It’s genuinely surprising that this guy never showed up to be part of the Netflix Defenders crew because he feels right at home with all the gritty street level heroes.
Moon Knight is regularly compared to Batman, albeit with a mysterious mix of the psychological and supernatural making up his identity. And sure, Batman sometimes dips his toes into that kind of thing, but in the end, we know what we’re getting with Batman: a billionaire playboy who dresses as a masked vigilante and occasionally goes undercover as a low-level criminal.
