Miguel Gomes’ Grand Tour impressed critics on Screen International’s Cannes jury grid while Karim Aïnouz’s Motel Destino saw mixed results.
Gomes’ first Cannes Competition feature scored an average of three after The Telegraph, Justin Chang (La Times), Kong Rithdee (Bangkok Post) and Screen’s own critic gave it ’four stars’ (excellent). The black-and-white feature also received five ‘three stars’ (good), two ‘two stars’ (average), and one ’one star’ (poor) from Nt Binh at France’s Positif.

Someone needs to get a therapist on standby for the Married at First Sight San Diego cast because they are not okay.
The former couples are again getting an onslaught of negative comments even though their season aired in 2023.
You can blame Netflix for that since Season 15 just became available on the streaming platform.
That means there are a slew of new Mafs viewers just now meeting the cast, and they have much to say about their behavior.
Miguel Santiago got a mouthful from an angry troll who took things way too far with their racist rhetoric.
Miguel shared a screenshot of their exchange online, which was crude and nasty.

Chinese sales agent Rediance has boarded Ben Rivers’ upcoming documentary Bogancloch, a sequel to 2011’s award-winning Two Years At Sea.
Nestled in a vast highland forest in Scotland, Bogancloch is where modern day hermit Jake Williams lives his solitary life. It is told in an elliptical, non-expositional way, creating space for the viewer to read the film openly.
China-based Rediance has secured worldwide rights, excluding the UK and Germany.

Married at First Sight Season 15 is now on Netflix, which means the cast better buckle up for the onslaught of nasty comments coming their way.
Alexis Williams is getting ready for the trolls, but she wants them to know that she won’t stand for the nonsense.
In a video posted online, the Mafs star issued a warning and told the critics “You can’t troll a troll,” and if you don’t believe it, she has proof.
She included screenshots in the video of her viscous clapbacks as a friendly reminder not to mess with her.
Meanwhile, here’s hoping that Alexis’ costars are ready for the harsh criticism that will come from all the new fans who are about to watch Season 15 for the first time.

Filmax has nabbed sales rights to “May I Speak With the Enemy,” a biopic focusing on the Spanish Civil War years of Miguel Gila, who went on to pioneer stand-up in Spain. Gila developed a comedy of the absurd informed by his experiences in the conflict.
“May I Speak With the Enemy” is produced by Pecado Films, a producer on Victor Erice’s “Close Your Eyes,” and Arcadia Motion Pictures, behind Oscar-nominated “Robot Dreams” and Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s “The Beasts.”
Co-written by Alexis Morante from an original idea by Pecado producer José Alba, “May I Speak” stars newcomer Oscar Lasarte, a comedian and magician, as a young Gila, just 17 when he heads for the trenches, to suffer through battles, hunger and a botched execution by a drunken firing squad.

Jujutsu Kaisen has taken a surprise turn with the latest chapter. The situation was entirely under Ryomen Sukuna’s control, but with simultaneous character introduction, the Jujutsu society has got the upper hand over the King of Curses. Higuruma slowed down Sukuna, and after that, Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu teamed up. It went on with Miguel, Maki, Choso, etc.
Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 259 will have several important moments, but the most crucial is the return of a fan-favorite character, who was last seen almost a hundred chapters ago. His return helped Itador get back up and take on a weakened Sukuna. Itadori also had a power boost and hit him with eight consecutive Black Flash.

Although Kit Harington attracted all eyes on him with his prolific performance since the beginning of Game of Thrones, people can’t forget one House Stark character who set the tone for the show’s notorious unpredictability. It’s none other than the actor behind the role of Eddard “Ned” Stark, Sean Bean, who left quite an impression on the series and its fans.
Sean Bean in Game of Thrones
Despite Sean Bean’s appearance in Game of Thrones being cut short with an untimely demise at the end of season one, his impact on the series extended far beyond his character’s arc. His influence was later seen in the performances of subsequent actors, including Paddy Considine who appeared as King Viserys in the prequel series House of the Dragon.

With his latest film, Blackout (not to be confused with The Blackout), Larry Fessenden finally gets around to tackling the werewolf mythos. Now he ventures to Talbot Falls, I wonder where he got that name from, for a tale of lycanthropy, small town corruption and what it means to be human.

Jujutsu Kaisen is an anime that does not take any obstacle as a reason to stop it from succeeding. It was recently announced by the Guinness Book of World Records that Gege Akutami’s masterpiece is the world’s most in-demand anime. Not only did it surpass the Big Three, but it did so by being decades younger than Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach.
Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen
While many would find it confusing as to why Jujutsu Kaisen was able to rise the ranks in a way no other anime could, there are many factors that come into play here. Out of which 5 stand out more than others.
1. Writer’s Discretion Over Viewer’s Opinion
Gege Akutami is perhaps one of the bravest mangakas in shonen works because of the way they kill off characters without any fear. In the wise words of Tatsuki Fujimoto, “Kill your darlings.

These days, actress Robin Wright is likely best known for her six seasons as Claire Underwood on “House of Cards.” Her character’s trajectory on Netflix’s often-rancid take on underhanded politics saw her ending up becoming the 47th President of the United States after co-star Kevin Spacey was forced to leave the show due to allegations of sexual misconduct. Wright collected six Emmy nominations as Best Drama Actresss and two for being an executive producer on the show. Wright also earned directorial stripes while calling the shots behind the camera for 10 episodes as well.
That experience led her to make her directorial film debut with “Land,” in which she played Edee, a woman filled with suicidal thoughts after suffering a tragic personal loss. She decides to go off the grid while moving into a grungy cabin in amongst the scenic mountains of Wyoming. Her attempts to chop wood, hunt...

Jujutsu Kaisen manga is on its last stretch, with Gege Akutami willing to wrap up their magnum opus before 2025. There seem to be multiple plot twists happening simultaneously in the manga. The powerful Jujutsu sorcerers are tasting defeat against the King of Curses. The latest chapter featured Miguel taking on Ryomen Sukuna. Jujutsu sorcerers have enlisted saving Megumi Fushiguro as their top priority.
The main protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuji Itadori, managed to reach Megumi Fushiguro’s soul after landing a blow on Sukuna. He tried to persuade him to fight back, but the Ten-Shadows user had already sunk deep into despair. It led to one of the popular theories that he might overtake Sukuna and Kenjaku as the ultimate villain in Gege Akutami’s magnum opus.

The leaks for the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 256 are finally out in Japan and we get to know what happens in the thrilling upcoming chapter of Gege Akutami’s popular manga series. Last week’s chapter was a fight chapter that saw the return of several characters – including Yuji, Choso, and Maki – to the fight. And while Miguel and Larue are done, Sukuna also suffers some damage and it seems that the Black Flash moment was just… a tease, as Sukuna still hasn’t regained any of his powers and it seems that he is on the path to losing, as far as this chapter is concerned.
This one was, more or less, a fighting chapter as well. It starts off, interestingly, with a flashback of Satoru Gojo explaining the Black Flash and some of the characteristics of this technique. The manga soon switches back to Sukuna, who seems to be in the zone,...

Miguel Santiago has been away from social media for a while and now we know why.
The Married at First Sight Season 15 star underwent spinal surgery and is now in recovery.
He recently posted an update on social media, telling his followers that the surgery went well, and now he’s ready to get his life back.
It’s been a rough couple of years for Miguel, who’s been suffering from spinal stenosis coupled with a herniated disc, which caused crippling lower back pain.
The 37-year-old made some lifestyle changes, including an anti-inflammatory diet and daily stretching exercises, hoping to minimize the chronic flare-ups.
However, the condition worsened, and at one point, it affected Miguel’s ability to stand straight, and it made walking very difficult.
Miguel opted to undergo surgery, and he recently shared an update on his recovery.

Jujutsu Kaisen is getting more interesting with each chapter. Since Ryomen Sukuna began his rampage, people have been skeptical of the King of Curses’ true powers. But as time passed, his number of kills increased. He killed Satoru Gojo during the battle of the strongest. After killing Kashimo Hajime, he gained his original form from thousand years ago, and since then, it has been a one-man show.
Yuta Okkotsu and Yuji Itadori formed a great tag team, but it was not enough to put down the King of the Curses. With Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 255 knocking on the door, fans have already welcomed the spoilers. The spoilers featured a strong Jujutsu sorcerer entering the battlefield and fighting Sukuna. He was last seen in Jujutsu Kaisen 0.

The leaks for the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 255 are finally out in Japan and we get to know what happens in the thrilling upcoming chapter of Gege Akutami’s popular manga series. The last chapter, released a week ago, foreshadowed the fight between Sukuna and Miguel, who made a surprising return to the manga, but this new chapter reveals that many other characters will return as the series continues with its usual formula: Sukuna fights and defeats a character, that character is saved, a new one appears, and the cycle repeats itself. All the while, we have no idea what happens to the others and how they are being healed in the background.
So, what is actually going on in this chapter? Well, there are no major surprises, to be honest. Miguel managed to save Ui Ui, as expected, but Larue’s return has also been confirmed, as the two...

The leaks for the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 254 are finally out in Japan and we get to know what happens in the thrilling upcoming chapter of Gege Akutami’s popular manga series. The last chapter, released two weeks ago, foreshadowed the fight between Atsuya Kusakabe and Sukuna. Kusakabe is a very interesting character who avoids fighting, but the moment comes when he has to face Sukuna, despite the fact that he would have done everything in his power to avoid fighting the powerful villain.
Sukuna wasn’t all that impressed, as it seemed, as Kusakabe was not a top-tier fighter he had been aware of. On top of that, he had already had an encounter with Kusakabe (and Panda) during the Shibuya Incident, where Kusakabe did not put up a fight and was, actually, on the brink of running away. This explains why Sukuna wasn’t all that impressed with his next opponent,...

Justice are back with “Saturnine,” a new collaboration with Miguel that also serves as the latest preview of the French duo’s forthcoming album Hyperdrama. They’ve also revealed the album’s full tracklist as well as several new tour dates.
“Saturnine” combines a throbbing bassline with glitchy synths and Miguel’s smooth, falsetto-laden vocals. The duo strips the song of its power during the verses, keeping the instrumental more muted and minimal as Miguel croons intimately, landing on the confident claim “I’m exactly where I want to be.” “Saturnine” concludes with some bustling slap-bass and whirring synths, giving the song an otherworldly hue.
Due out on April 26th via Ed Banger/Because Music, Hyperdrama also promises collaborations with Thundercat, Tame Impala, Connan Mockasin, The Flints, and Rimon. The duo previously previewed the LP in January with the Tame Impala-featuring “One Night/All Night,” “Generator,” and “Incognito.”

When singer-songwriter SiR started growing his dreadlocks in 2010, he didn’t know the level of maintenance it would require. He was initially enthused by the Rastafarian concept of locs and their spiritual significance, finding meaning behind the now-popular hairdo. Although not as invested anymore, he realizes how his loc journey coincides with his personal development. There’s been plenty of breakage but also restoration.

Bandidos, the Mexican Netflix Original, which loosely translates to robbers in Spanish, is a seven-episode heist comedy drama. A heist drama has to focus on a large cast planning the deed together, as seen in many films in the genre. Every person has a role to play in the bigger scheme of things as they focus on carrying out a crime. Bandidos has several such characters who play their part diligently to reach the end point, which is to claim the ancient treasure they are seeking.

Martin Luther King Jr. once reflected on the corrupting nature of wealth and how it can bring out the worst in people. It is extremely debatable as to where this thirst for accumulating wealth actually comes from. But then, the rich people of this capitalist world seem oblivious to this aspect of their nature. The boss in Bandidos is one of those people who seem unhinged by his violent ways.

I remember watching heist movies as a kid and thinking to myself, Why would anyone risk their life for gold? Why can’t people just work? But then I grew up and began to understand how this capitalist world works. I’d rather that this does not become another one of my commentaries on human greed. However, I can’t help but wonder: if I had the resources to do so, would I go on a mind-boggling, life-threatening hunt for treasure through the ruins of the Mayan or Aztec civilizations? I have played the Tomb Raider and Uncharted games, but would I do it for a fortune?
While the possibility is quite tempting to think about, I am quite lazy and will never move beyond the stage where I get off my couch and start planning. There are folks like us who like making money the way society wants us to,...

Joining a radiant Gerwig on the February 7 panel were cast members Jordan Rodrigues and Marielle Scott and costume designer April Napier. Indie darling Jay Duplass served as moderator. After Steve Maclin cost Speedball Mountain their match against the Rascalz on Countdown to No Surrender, Mike Bailey is out for revenge tonight!
