Ruya Arzu Koksal is the founder of her own production company Turkishmoon Films where she works as a writer and director of several independent documentary films .
Her first short documentary film 'Forsaken Paths' ( Yollar Cimen Bagladi) premiered in 43. Pesaro International FF Italy 2007. She received the best film award in Boston Turkish Film Festival and IFSAK. Her second short
Documentary 'New Life In Old Foca' (Eski Foca'da Yeni Hayat) won the UNDP best project award in 2007.
Ruya received international recognition for her second documentary film 'The Shore' (Son Kumsal) that was presented at numerous film festivals including Istanbul International Film Festival , International Women's FF Dortmund /Cologne ,Paris International Environment FF and received best film award in WIFTS in Los Angeles in 2010 (Women's International Film & Television Showcase) and TRT International FF (International documentary FF organized by the Turkish Radio &TV Corporation) Best Documentary Award and also the 'Special Jury-prize in Boston Turkish FF.
Her third film 'An argonaut In Ordu ' (Ordu'da Bir Argonot) 2010 premiered in IF istanbul international independent film festival and received 'Golden Orange Special Jury Prize' in 47. Antalya international Film Festival in 2010.
Koksal's forth film 'A Few Brave People' ( Bir Avuc Cesur Insan ) 2011 premiered in IF International independent film festival and the European premiere in This Human World (human rights film festival )2011 in Vienna Won the best feature film award in Bozcaada International environment FF in 2014 ,
Abu Dhabi International FF in 2013 and 'Best Habitat Film Award 'inThessaloniki International FF in 2012 .
Ruya is working on her latest feature documentary film 'Red Wheat'(Kirmizi Bugday) since 2014 and 'Nuclear Dreams' (Nukleer Ruyalar) since 2008.
