After streaming platforms became as popular as they are now, it became clear that the age of the standard cable network TV format was over. Shows have become much shorter as the wait between seasons has become much longer, regardless of genre or ratings.
With the recent WGA and SAG AFTRA strikes that took place in the summer of 2023, the production schedule for any studio has become a mess. Now, however, it's rewarding to see the shows we love overcoming any difficulties the circumstances created and getting back on track.

Netflix finally unveiled an official teaser for the second season of The Sandman yesterday, and it featured a first glimpse of Esmé Creed-Miles as Delirium, Adrian Lester as Destiny, and Barry Sloane as The Prodigal.
Though we did get to see Delirium's face, her full visage was somewhat obscured, and this new behind-the-scenes photo gives us a better look at the Hanna star in-costume as the youngers of The Endless.
In Neil Gaiman's comics, Delirium is the current manifestation of the being that started out as Delight. The character is a little... mixed up, but is loyal to her family and proves to be an invaluable ally to Dream during the events of "Brief Lives."
Check out the photo below along with yesterday's teaser.

When Netflix revealed that it was planning to come forth with an adaptation of DC Comics’ The Sandman, people were excited. While many were elated, there were some who had doubts about the project. But the series, which aired in 2022, proved them all wrong. It was a critical success, managing to bring to life a host of the fabled Endless on screen. And the new season will witness the introduction of 3 new members of the Endless.

Created by Neil Gaiman, the Endless are considered one of the oldest entities in DC Comics, predating even fairies, gods, and other supernatural entities. With each Endless being in-charge of a specific domain, and with each having sovereignty in their domain, they are characters who can hold their own.

This article contains spoilers from The Sandman comics.
The Prodigal is finally set to return.
Throughout the first season of The Sandman, viewers met not only Dream a.k.a. Morpheus (Tom Sturridge), but also his siblings, known as the Endless. The mopey Dream gets a pick-me-up from his cheery sister Death (Kirby), while dealing with the machinations of the duplicitous twins Desire (Mason Alexander Park) and Despair (Donna Preston).
But readers of the cult comic book series by Neil Gaiman know that the Netflix adaptation left other members of the Endless off screen. But according to a casting announcement, the rest of the family will be dropping by for season two.
Esmé Creed-Miles of the Amazon Prime Video series Hanna will play the playful younger sister Delirium, while Adrian Lester, currently seen in the Disney+ show Renegade Nell, will don the cloak and chains of the mysterious Destiny.

The Endless have assembled!
Netflix has shared a brief teaser for the second season of The Sandman, reintroducing the members of The Endless we met during season 1, Dream, Death, Desire and Despair, while providing our first glimpse of Morpheus' remaining siblings, Destiny, Delirium, and "The Prodigal."
Esmé Creed-Miles will play the youngest of the Endless, Delirium, while Adrian Lester will take on the role of the all-seeing Destiny, and Barry Sloane will play The Prodigal.
Anyone who has read Neil Gaiman's comic series will know who this really is, and while it wouldn't seem like much of a spoiler to reveal the name, it's clearly something the show is choosing to keep under wraps for the time being.

After exploring the American frontier in Andrew Haigh’s Lean on Pete, Charlie Plummer returns to the terrain with Luke Gilford’s directorial debut National Anthem. Premiering at last year’s SXSW, the film follows a construction worker who joins a community of queer rodeo performers searching for their own version of the American dream. While working on a ranch in the Southwest, they contend with the undeniable forces of nature, family and love. Also starring Eve Lindley and Mason Alexander Park, the first trailer has now arrived ahead of a June 12 release from Variance Films.
Jake Kring-Schreifels said in his review, “National Anthem is an offshoot of Gilford’s 2020 photographic series, which showcased the beauty of America’s Queer Rodeo by foregrounding softly lit and often-hidden subjects against expansive New Mexican vistas. At a time of political polarization and in a space typically reserved for a more traditional, patriarchal idea of a cowboy,...

Following Quantum Leap’s cancellation after two seasons, Jeff Bader, President of Program Planning Strategy at NBCUniversal Entertainment, has spoken up about why the show didn’t move to Peacock like it’s network sibling Law & Order: Organized Crime.

Back in 1989, the original Quantum Leap sci-fi series was one of the more popular shows on TV. Created by Donald P. Bellisario, the series consisted of a total of 97 episodes spread through five seasons. The original show starred Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell. Bellisario revived the show in 2022, setting it 30 years after the end of the original series. The series ran for two seasons (31 episodes in total) on NBC, and we are sad to report that the series has now been canceled after two seasons on NBC.

Unfortunately, we’re not going to get to see what two-person leaps look like: Quantum Leap has been canceled after two seasons, TV Insider has confirmed. The NBC series following the original series starring Scott Bakula premiered in 2022. Physicist Ben (Raymond Lee) was working on the Quantum Leap accelerator when he surprised the rest of the team—fiancée Addison (Caitlin Bassett), Magic (Ernie Hudson), Ian (Mason Alexander Park), and Jenn (Nanrisa Lee)—by leaping (when it was supposed to be Addison). But the Season 2 finale saw them figure out the code that could bring Ben home, so he would stop leaping from person to person to right wrongs, only someone would have to trade places with him. Addison volunteered, but rather than Ben coming home, the two reunited in the past, setting the stage for two-person leaps. “Whenever you’re doing seasons of television, most of the time you don...

“Quantum Leap” has been canceled at NBC after two seasons, Variety has confirmed.
The show served as a followup to the 1989 show of the same name starring Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell. The revamped version starred Raymond Lee as physicist Dr. Ben Song, whose attempt to restart the Quantum Leap project pioneered by Dr. Sam Beckett leads to him being trapped in different people’s lives in the past just like Beckett. As he seeks to put right what once went wrong in those lives, he “leaps” to different lives while hoping that each leap will be the leap home.
The cast of the series also included Caitlin Bassett, Ernie Hudson, Mason Alexander Park, and Nanrisa Lee. Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt developed the series and served as executive producers alongside Martin Gero via Quinn’s House, Dean Georgaris, Deborah Pratt, Chris Grismer, and Alex Berger. Universal Television was the studio.

Exclusive: NBC has decided not to proceed with a third season of its Quantum Leap reboot starring Raymond Lee. The news comes more than a month after the two-hour Season 2 finale aired Feb. 20.

On the one hand, we need more Quantum Leap after the way the second season ended, introducing a new element to its story. However, if that’s the end, it also is, in a way, a satisfying conclusion. The NBC drama, following the original series starring Scott Bakula, could now see two-person leaps. The team in the present—Magic (Ernie Hudson), Addison (Caitlin Bassett), Ian (Mason Alexander Park), and Jenn (Nanrisa Lee)—was able to use the Darpa code (which Eliza Taylor‘s Hannah created) to find a way to bring Ben (Raymond Lee), leaping around in time in people’s bodies to right wrongs, home. However, to do so, they realized, they’d need someone to swap places with him. Addison volunteered. But rather than Ben return home, the exes reunited in the past, setting the stage for a potential third season to follow both of them leaping. Quantum Leap...

This article contains spoilers for Quantum Leap season 2 episode 13 “Against Time.”
In the Quantum Leap season 2 finale, Ben (Raymond Lee) finally has the chance to get back home thanks to a code provided by his season-long love interest, Hannah (Eliza Taylor) and the work of tech-genius Ian (Mason Alexander Park.) There’s just one catch. Someone will have to swap places with Ben and it’s obvious who’d step up: Addison (Caitlin Bassett). After all, she was originally supposed to be the Leaper before Ben leapt in her place in season 1 of the new Quantum Leap.
Addison uses the Quantum Leap accelerator and ends up in the past. Her hair is different and lipstick is more prominent. She’s leaped. Around her people run to safety as bombs go off. She looks around and spots Ben. Is he now her hologram? The two run to each other and touch,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Quantum Leap Season 2 finale “Against Time.”] The team on Quantum Leap now has a code that leads to so many questions about these trips through time to right wrongs and the people making them and the different ways it could be used, which, of course, leads us to wonder: Could it bring Sam Beckett home? The Darpa code that Ian (Mason Alexander Park) was working on in the present turned out to be created by Hannah (Eliza Taylor), Ben’s (Raymond Lee) love interest he kept running into on leaps, to bring him home. But, as the team learned, someone would have to swap places with him. Addison (Caitlin Bassett), Ben’s ex-fiancée and the one who was supposed to leap in the first place before he did to save her life, volunteered to do so. Only, in the final moments, instead, Ben and Addison ...

Ben (Raymond Lee) reunites with Hannah (Eliza Taylor), who reveals she came up with a formula to help him get home—the same Darpa code Ian (Mason Alexander Park) is working on in the present. Heading into the two-part finale, the Quantum Leap team is short one member, with Gideon (James Frain), who provided the chip Ian (Mason Alexander Park) used to find Ben (Raymond Lee) and was none too pleased with what happened in the aftermath, insisting Magic (Ernie Hudson) fire Jenn (Nanrisa Lee). Instead, Magic resigned. “There’s a point when you live to fight again, and so sometimes you got to give up this battle, but you know that this is not the end of me,” Hudson tells TV Insider. “I’m more than what I appear to be. There’s something about the arrogance that Gideon has that assumes I have no other options or that I’m going to quietly disappear and let you come in and do whatever you want to do. So I think right away Magic is thinking, ‘Okay, what are the options?'” He also has...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Quantum Leap Season 2 Episode 11 “The Outsider.”] If you thought Gideon Ridge (James Frain) shook things up when he made his entrance at the end of Episode 10, that’s nothing compared to what happens in the latest Quantum Leap. Gideon is none too pleased with Ian (Mason Alexander Park) for using the quantum chip he made for them that helped them find Ben (Raymond Lee)—he was missing for three years, though no time passed for the leaper—without his knowledge and refusing to give it back. Someone has to go, and since Ian is the best shot at finding Ben, it can’t be them. Tom (Peter Gadiot), as the Department of Defense representative, tells Magic (Ernie Hudson) he has to fire Jenn (Nanrisa Lee). When Quantum Leap returned to television in 2022, the difference noted immediately between Dr. Ben Song's and Dr. Sam Beckett's adventures was their support team.
Where Sam had only Al Calavicci as his holo-guide, Ben enters the accelerator knowing a team of friends (and one secret conspirator) has his back.
Having that team -- specifically, computer specialist Ian Wright, Security Chief Jenn Chu, and team leader Herbert "Magic" Williams -- has imbued the new series with a life and tone all its own.
Speaking exclusively with TV Fanatic over Zoom, the actors who play the HQ Trio -- Mason Alexander Park, Nanrisa Lee, and Ernie Hudson -- open up about their personal connections to the show and how Quantum Leap Season 2 adds depth and nuance to their characters and the narrative.
When TV Fanatic spoke with Ernie Hudson before the series premiere, we asked about his own history with the franchise.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Quantum Leap Season 2 Episode 8 “Nomad.”] Is Ben (Raymond Lee) finally going to be able to come home? There’s hope at the end of the latest episode of Quantum Leap. Just as Addison (Caitlin Bassett) thinks Tom (Peter Gadiot) is about to propose (she found a ring), he instead reveals that something was found on a fragment of a hard drive of the discontinued Darpa project: a way to bring Ben home. TV Insider spoke with those who star as the Quantum Leap project’s team members — Ernie Hudson (Magic), Mason Alexander Park (Ian), and Nanrisa Lee (Jenn) — to find out how they feel about that (can they trust it?) and more. Tom tells Addison that there may be a way to bring Ben home, but given that the team has been trying to figure out a way to do just that, and now, sure they like Tom, but this...
