Jill Scott has been crowned the winner of I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!’s 2022 series.
The result was announced by presenters Ant and Dec at the end of Sunday night’s episode.
Following the departure of Mike Tindall one day previously, three contestants had been left competing in the final episode: ex-England footballer Jill Scott, actor Owen Warner and disgraced Tory MP Matt Hancock.
The MP was revealed as the third-place finisher earlier in the programme after viewers saw the trio take part in three final Bushtucker Trials.
After an exit interview with the hosts, Hancock reunited with his girlfriend Gina Coladangelo on the bridge with a kiss and a hug.
Hancock’s involvement in the ITV reality series had been the main talking point for a series that saw production return to the Australian jungle after two Covid-struck years in Gwrych Castle, Wales.

Twenty years in, you know what you’re getting with I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!. Soap actors will nibble on fried genitals. Spiders will crawl across singers’ foreheads. Black women will be voted out first. In 2019, Adele Roberts was the inaugural camper to be given her marching orders. Eighties pop queen Sinitta placed 11th in 2011. Even This Morning staple and universally adored national treasure Alison Hammond barely squeaked into 10th place in the 2010 series.
After two weeks of the ITV series’ 22nd season, the tradition holds steady: newsreader Charlene White and TV presenter Scarlette Douglas have been the first and second contestants to be eliminated from the competition. It’s not as if other candidates couldn’t have filled those unenviable boots. Matt Hancock’s inclusion in this year’s camp roster has dominated many viewer discussions, while the outspoken singer Boy George has proved a polarising presence.

The actor – best known for playing Eileen Grimshaw on Coronation Street – became the third campmate to be voted off the ITV reality series.
Cleaver screamed with delight when she was eliminated during Monday’s episode (21 November).
Speaking about her experience on the programme, Cleaver said that facing the “unknown” had “affected” her mentally, stating that it was the hardest thing she had to cope with during her time on the series.
“Take away any element of control and you’re faced with the unknown constantly, it really does affect you mentally,” she said. “So that was the hardest thing for me.”
The 59-year-old went on to speak about other challenges on the show, adding: “You’re literally looking at the sun and trying to figure out what time it is.

Jonathan Ross has said that Matt Hancock is “not a celebrity” despite the fact that the politician is currently starring in I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
Ross also ruled out interviewing the former health secretary on his eponymous talk show.
“No, I wouldn’t [interview him]. He’s not a celebrity,” the host told Sunday People.
“He’s a horrible human being and I cannot bear the way people take no responsibility for their actions.”
Ross added of the MP for West Suffolk: “He was very bad when he was in office and he’s – remarkably – even worse now he’s out of it!”
However, Ross did admit to “enjoying” the series so far, saying he was “more impressed by the women than the men”.
Hancock has faced intense scrutiny from fellow politicians, and had the Tory whip suspended, for joining the reality show at a time when Parliament is sitting.

I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star Scarlette Douglas has spoken about her confrontation with Boy George in camp about his 2008 prison sentence.
The A Place in the Sun presenter was the second contestant to be eliminated from camp during Sunday (20 November) night’s show, following on from Loose Women’s Charlene White on Friday (18 November).
Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Monday (21 November), Douglas was asked about one particularly awkward moment in camp when she questioned the Culture Club singer about his court case.
In 2008, the singer was convicted of assault and false imprisonment after chaining a man to his wall. Boy George pleaded not guilty at the time, and claimed in court that he handcuffed the man because he wanted to track down stolen photos taken from his laptop.

Fans of the ITV survival show had been voting for the famous face they most wanted to save since Thursday (17 November).
In Friday’s (18 November) edition of the programme, Ant and Dec announced that the newsreader had received the fewest number of votes and would be leaving the jungle immediately after 14 days.
Tearfully, she hugged the celebrities and made her way out of the camp.
Owen Warner, Sue Cleaver and Scarlette Douglas looked particularly disappointed to see her go.
Earlier in the episode, Boy George and White took part in a Bushtucker Trial called “Watery Grave”, in which they had to climb into underwater tombs to retrieve stars.
Since she had a documented fear of underground spaces and spiders, the Loose Woman admitted that she’d struggle with the task.

The first elimination of I’m a Celebrity 2022 will take place tonight (Friday 18 November) – but who could be at risk?
Culture Club singer Boy George, presenter Scarlette Douglas and Loose Women star Charlene White are all in trouble, with former footballer Jill Scott and ex-Rugby player Mike Tindall thought to be the safest.
A spokesperson for BritishGambler.co.uk said on Thursday 17 November: “Although Scarlette and Charlene have been the bookmakers’ early favourites to be the first campmates to be voted out, it now appears that it may be Boy George who will leave the jungle first…
“Many fans are getting quite worked up by Boy George’s behaviour, which has triggered talk about his past conviction, amongst other things. As it stands, 57 per cent of bets have been on Boy George to be the first to leave.”
Earlier this week, Boy George shut down questions from Douglas about his court case.

Matt Hancock’s presence on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! has sparked 1,968 Ofcom complaints – but for two quite different reasons.
The broadcasting watchdog received the complaints between Tuesday 8 November (the day Hancock arrived) and Monday 14 November.
The majority of complainants, around 1,100, objected simply to the fact that the former health secretary is appearing on the show. Other viewers expressed concerns about how the MP is being treated by the other contestants.
A statement from Ofcom said: “It’s worth being aware that under our rules, in principle – and taking into account freedom of expression – there’s no ban on any particular person taking part in programmes.
“However, if the mere presence of a person is likely to cause offence, we would expect broadcasters to take steps to mitigate or justify that offence.
“How they do that editorially, is up to them.”
The Independent has contacted ITV for comment.

Matt Hancock has revealed a text message he sent to Boris Johnson after Liz Truss resigned as prime minister.
Last month, Truss resigned as Pm after just 45 days in the office, following which Johnson cut a holiday short so he could lobby for the position.
Johnson ultimately stepped down as a contender, leaving Rishi Sunak to succeed Truss.

After sharing his honest verdict on Truss’s “political career”, Hancock was asked by comedian Seann Walsh whether he was “a Boris die-hard”, to which he replied: “Look, I was very supportive of him, but it was time. When it was time to go, it was time to go.”

I’m a Celeb viewers accuse ‘childish’ Boy George of ‘stirring’ drama with Matt Hancock over potatoes
I’m a Celeb viewers have accused “childish” Boy George of picking a fight with Matt Hancock.
On Monday night’s (14 November) episode of the hit ITV reality series, the singer was assigned cleaning duties by new camp leader Hancock and his deputy Charlene White.
The former health secretary – whose controversial arrival to the jungle left Boy George in tears – asked the musician whether the side of potatoes could be washed before they were cooked.
George became angry at the request and accused his fellow campmate of “kicking off”. Behind Hancock’s back, he said: “You f***ing clean them.”
Viewers, however, have defended Hancock and suggested that the “Karma Chameleon” singer overreacted and is “looking for a row”.
“Boy George is a joke. The suggestion of washing the potatoes was said perfectly politely and George starts stirring it: “Matt is kickin’ off…’” said one viewer.

Matt Hancock has been named as camp leader on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.
During Sunday (13 November), the contestants were told that the public had voted Mike Tindall and Hancock as potential leaders of the camp.
Tindall chose Sue Cleaver as his deputy, while Hancock picked Charlene White.
“Let’s do this. You couldn’t make leader of the Conservatives, but you’re leader of camp,” White told Hancock, with the MP replying: “Not yet!”
They then took part in a challenge, which Hancock won. Back at the camp, the other contestants said that they hoped Tindall would win the challenge and would be the leader instead.
When they returned, Jill Scott let out a disappointed sigh, while Chris Moyles said: “Matt Hancock is our leader. Words that nobody in Britain ever thought that they would hear.”

Matt Hancock was seen by a medic on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! after being stung by a scorpion.
During Sunday (13 November) night’s episode, the contestants were fetching logs for the camp when Hancock yelped out in pain.
“Ouch, f***! That really hurts!” he shouted. “I’ve got no splinter. Ow, that really hurts… it’s like I must have been bitten by something. Oh yeah! Wow, look at that a scorpion. I’ve been stung by a scorpion.”
He continued: “It was so painful… it hurts a lot and I’m feeling slightly dizzy. S***.”
Hancock said that the sting felt like “two times a bee sting”.
Boy George commented through stifled giggles: “Of all the people that could get stung by a scorpion. I mean, I’m not laughing...”
Hancock was then immediately chosen to do the “House of Horrors” Bushtucker Trial. He told...

I’m a Celebrity 2022 is here – and the series has returned to Australia for the first time in three years.
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are back on hosting duties for the annual reality series, which this year features a musician, a DJ and a disgraced politician as part of its line-up.
One such celebrity taking part in the series is Owen Warner – but who is he?
Warner is a British actor best known for playing the role of Romeo Nightingale in Hollyoaks.
The 32-year-old first joined the soap in 2018 and has found himself at the centre of several key storylines.
Warner, who hails from Leicester, is considered to be a friend of I’m a Celebrity having previously appeared on discussion show I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp, which airs on ITV2, multiple times.
Shortly after he was announced as a contestant, Warner became one of the early favourites to win.

Miriam Margolyes has criticised the decision to cast Matt Hancock in the current series of I’m a Celebrity, saying she doesn’t know “why he was thought a proper person to entertain”.
The former health secretary’s appearance on the ITV programme has been met with widespread backlash, with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak admonishing him for abandoning his constituents.
Hancock resigned as health secretary last year after violating his own Covid regulations by having an affair with aide Gina Coladangelo. The pair were caught embracing on camera.
Speaking to the campmates in last night’s episode, the politician said he’s hoping for “forgiveness”, with Loose Women presenter Charlene White – whose aunt died during the Covid-19 pandemic – telling him that “‘sorry’ for a lot of families like mine doesn’t really cut it”.
While being interviewed on The Six O’Clock Show in Ireland, Margolyes said of Hancock: “What an appalling,...

Matt Hancock was seen by a medic this weekend after being stung by a scorpion.
The politician, who is set to face his fifth Bushtucker Trial tonight, was stung on the finger.
An ITV spokesperson told The Independent: “Matt was stung on his finger by a scorpion earlier today in camp. It wasn’t poisonous and he was seen by a medic straight away and is absolutely fine.”
Earlier this week, Hancock told the celebrities in the camp he was looking for “forgiveness”.
The former health secretary became emotional while being criticised for breaking his own lockdown rules during Friday’s episode (11 November).
When TV presenter Scarlette Douglas asked him why he broke the rules, Hancock told her he was sorry, stating: “I fell in love with somebody.”
He told his campmates that he was not fined for the act as he “didn’t break any laws”, adding: “Guidance is different.

Matt Hancock has settled into jungle life on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and, as expected, the public keep voting for him to do all the gruesome trials.
His arrival at the camp has been met with mixed emotions, with Boy George crying on camera, and Charlene White schooling the former health secretary over his decision to join the show.
Olivia Attwood, who was the first to exit, having been forced to drop out of the competition due to a medical matter less than 24 hours after she entered the jungle, said of Hancock after she left: “It’s funny to see him slimed and gunked but it isn’t funny if you didn’t get to hold someone’s hand when they died while he was snogging someone in his office.
“NHS workers are protesting to get paid enough money to survive and he is out earning money in the jungle.

Chris Moyles wasn’t buying Matt Hancock’s emotional plea for forgiveness on I’m a Celebrity.
During Friday’s episode (11 November), the former health secretary was confronted by his campmates about his handling of the UK’s Covid-19 response and his infamous kissing scandal.
Hancock resigned in June 2021 after his affair with aide Gina Coladangelo was exposed, revealing he’d broken his own guidance on social distancing.
Loose Women anchor and newsreader Charlene White told the MP for West Sussex that her aunt died during the pandemic and she was not able to see her, “so ‘sorry’ for a lot of families like mine doesn’t really cut it”.
He replied: “Thats one of the reasons that I... regret it as much as I do.”

Paul Weller has hit out at The Cure frontman Robert Smith in a recent interview, calling him a “fat c***” and suggesting he would “slap him”.
Weller’s comments were made when an interviewer suggested that a song from Noel Gallagher’s forthcoming album sounds like “A Forest” by The Cure.
This then seemingly propelled Weller into a state of what the writer described as “revulsion”.
"Really??!“ Weller replied in the cover story interview with Record Collector.
"I can’t f***ing stand them. F***ing fat c***, with his lipstick and all that b*llocks. He is my age as well, isn’t he?" Weller said.
"He’s a f***ing kn*b end," he continued. "I don’t like him. There you go. There’s someone I would work with. I’d f***ing slap him, or something."
The Independent has contacted representatives of Weller and Smith for comment.

I’m a Celebrity viewers have not reacted well to Matt Hancock and Seann Walsh bonding in the jungle.
The pair joined the show as “bombshell” contestants on Wednesday night (9 November), with fellow campmate Charlene White schooling Hancock over his decision to leave his constituents, and Boy George ending up in tears over the politician’s arrival.
Former health secretary Hancock was filmed slipping over on his way into the camp in Australia, and at later points was seen bathing in a puddle and singing an Ed Sheeran song – a moment that was mocked by hosts Ant and Dec.
He and comedian Walsh took part in a challenge together, crawling through tunnels while confronting rats and getting covered in sludge and insects.
The pair appeared to get on well, descending into fits of giggles at numerous points.
Walsh complimented Hancock for how “relaxed” he seemed to be during the challenge,...

The celebrities watched in disbelief on Wednesday (9 November) as former cabinet minister Matt Hancock entered the jungle.
The MP for West Suffolk was immediately asked by his I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! campmates why he’d decided to come on the show.
The first to take Hancock off for a one-on-one was Loose Women star Charlene White.
“So why did you do it?” she asked the politician, bluntly.
“Because there’s... honest truth, is because there’s so few ways in which politicians can show that we’re human beings, so I just thought it would be good to do that,” Hancock responded. “I’ve got a sense of adventure.”
White said she could imagine the reaction to him entering the reality show would not be positive back in the UK, “because Parliament is still sitting, we’re not in recess, you know”.
Hancock replied: “I genuinely...

I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! hosts Ant and Dec wasted no time in making a dig at comedian Seann Walsh during Wednesday’s (9 November) episode.
Walsh joined the show as a “bombshell” late addition alongside former health secretary Matt Hancock.
The comic was embroiled in a cheating scandal in 2018 when he was filmed kissing his Strictly Come Dancing coach Katya Jones while the pair were in pre-existing relationships.
“And we all know what happened the last time Seann was paired up with someone on a reality show…” Ant said before Dec added: “Let’s hope he doesn’t get off with Matt Hancock!”
Feigning anger, Ant grabbed Dec and told him: “Never ever say the words ‘get off with Matt Hancock!’ I can’t even say the words.”
Hancock was himself involved in a kissing scandal after a June 2021 leaked video showed he had breached social distancing restrictions by kissing his aide,...

Boy George was left feeling conflicted after former health secretary Matt Hancock’s arrival in the jungle.
Hancock joined his I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! campmates for the first time during Wednesday’s (9 November) episode after arriving with comedian Seann Walsh.
There was an overall mixed reaction to Hancock’s arrival, who has faced criticism in the UK for joining the show while serving as an active Member of Parliament.
Boy George told presenter Scarlette Douglas: “You know, beginning of the pandemic my mum was in hospital. I wasn’t allowed to see her. I thought she was going to die.
“I was tweeting Greenwich hospital going, ‘Please look after my mum.’ I used my name, I was like, ‘Please look after my mum.’ And they did, she was fine… I feel like, I don’t want to be sitting here like I’m having fun with him.

The Crown season 5: The scene that deals with Prince Andrew – ‘It’s the sheer humiliation of it all’
The new season of The Crown is here, and it focuses on the royal family’s lives in the 1990s.
With two seasons left to go, many are tuning in to see how the series depicts the marriage of Charles and Diana, who are now played by Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki.
One thing viewers might have thought about ahead of the new seasons was how the Netflix show would continue to depict Prince Andrew.
Season four, which was released in 2020, was the first to be written after allegations against the royal linked him to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and one scene appeared to directly respond to the claims.
Now, showrunner and writer Peter Morgan has seemingly addressed the public’s view on Andrew in the fourth episode from season five.
The scene shows Andrew (James Murray) visiting his mother, Queen Elizabeth (Imelda Staunton), to share some news about his personal life.

Tony Adams has addressed rumours of a rift with his Strictly Come Dancing partner Katya Jones.
The former England football team manager is currently competing for the glitterball in the BBC dancing contest.
Towards the end of last Saturday’s (5 November) episode, Adams and Jones were seen to be having a serious discussion as hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman were giving their final remarks.
Earlier in the programme, they’d scored 21 points out of a possible 40 for their salsa to “I Know You Want Me” by Pitbull.
The judges had picked up several technical mistakes that Adams had made during the dance, which Jones assured them he hadn’t been making during their training throughout the week.
After seeing the pair having a heated conversation, some viewers became convinced that they’d been involved in a row.

Boy George has ruffled feathers after growing frustrated with fellow I’m a Celebrity campmate Charlene White.
The Culture Club singer hit out at the newsreader and Loose Women presenter in Tuesday night’s episode (8 November).
His words stemmed from White’s hands-on approach when it came to making dinner, when she shared instructions on what to do with the kangaroo sausages that had been delivered to camp.
Boy George did not enjoy being around White when she went into chef mode, telling producers in the Bush Telegraph: “It’s so weird, that bag comes down and Charlene just turns into an entirely different person.
He continued: “It’s amazing, she issues orders and tells everyone what to do. I’m like, ‘Wow’. You know, it’s like, ‘Who are you?’”
His frustration kept him from assisting with the cooking, which prompted Atv host Scarlett Douglas to ask him: “Didn’t fancy helping,...
