YouTube CEOSusan Wojcicki’s 2016 VidCon keynote delivered a simple message: If you’ve felt marginalized and seek community, come to us.
“YouTube gives people of any race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or interest a place to come together and a place to belong,” she said, emphasizing the importance of community to YouTube’s success. “When people talk about community, especially when they’re here at VidCon, the first thing they often mention are the screaming fans… But what I hope you take away when you visit VidCon isn’t just the enthusiasm, it’s the sense of belonging that exists here.”
To present YouTube’s programming slate, Wojcicki yielded the stage to Susanne Daniels, YouTube’s Global Head of Original Content, who outlined the four major projects upcoming from YouTube Red, the company’s original content subscription service, and eight new series in development. Relationships between YouTubers and multi-channel networks (MCNs) can get very tricky, and few creators understand that reality more than Adam Montoya (Aka SeaNanners) and Tom Cassell (Aka Syndicate). Those two gamers (and frequent collaborators) have tried out partnerships with several MCNs, including Machinima and Omnia Media. Now, they're looking to revolutionize the YouTube industry through Jetpak, a "new breed" of McN. Jetpak was created by 3BlackDot, an entertainment company launched in July 2014 by a pair of former Machinima employees. Montoya and Cassell have been partnered with 3BlackDot since its launch, and they will now become the two most prominent members of Jetpak's lineup, which will also include fellow gamer Mr. Sark. As Montoya explains in an intro video, Jetpak is different from other MCNs because it will accommodate inexperienced YouTubers who may not understand the risks of a network partnership. "In most cases, [an McN] contract is going to be exclusive, it's going to be one-sided,...

This edition of YouTube Millionaires is a bit special. We've interviewed someone who has passed not just one million, but also two million subscribers. That someone is SeaNanners Aka Adam Montoya, a YouTube gamer who is interesting enough to earn his own feature in CNN. We spoke to Montoya about gaming, Omegle, wine, and anything else that crossed our mind. Tubefilter: First and foremost, what do you have to say to your two million YouTube fans? SeaNanners: Hey you...Yeah you...All 2 million of you. Thanks :) Tf: How do you think your style distinguishes you from the many other gaming-focused creators on YouTube? Sn: Everyone is a beautiful little internet snow flake. Who really knows for sure? Right place, right time, right attitude? Life is random. The Queen of the wicked shit, Razakel, has returned with a brand new full-length album featuring 22 tracks of the sickest horrorcore to ever grace the genre. Easily this is the best produced horrorcore release I have heard to date, showcasing some authentically mind blowing lyrics, proving once and for all who the illest female Mc of them all truly is. “Muerta” officially dropping on July 31st, is by far Razakel’s most solid contribution to the genre, over the years she has mastered her craft to a degree that makes her stand out above other similar artists. Just like every other Skr release this record further innovates the genre, rising the bar multiple notches, creating the new standard for quality horrorcore.

Listen guys, I hate to be the ones to break this to you, but I don’t think Pax South is going to happen anytime soon. I know, please try to restrain your shock. However, a new challenger to the crown may have arrived. Rooster Teeth Expo (Rtx) will be making it’s presence known in the convention scene in Austin, Texas come July 7-8th.
Rooster Teeth, the guys behind Red vs Blue, have already announced that Halo 4 will be having its first public multiplayer demo as well as featuring exhibitions from indie developers Twisted Pixel and Robot Entertainment and panels featuring internet darlings such as Mega64 and Freddie Wong.
This is the first year Rtx will be open to the public, and it’s looking to be a great alternative from what we’ve come to expect from gaming conventions. Rtx is promising to be a more relaxed...
