Altitude has debuted the trailer for the documentary on one of the pivotal bands of the Brit-pop era, ‘blur: To The End’.
Depicting the most recent chapter in the band’s story, the doc is captured during the period in which they made a surprise – and emotional – return with their first record in 8 years, the critically acclaimed #1 album ‘The Ballad of Darren’.
The documentary follows the unique relationship of four friends – and bandmates of three decades – Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree as they came together in early 2023 to record new songs ahead of their sold-out, first-ever shows at London’s Wembley Stadium in July last summer.
Featuring performances of their most iconic, much-loved songs, footage of the band in the studio and life on the road, the doc is an intimate moment in time with this most enduring of English bands, who have been at the...

Beware of drones. They will always outsmart humans. Sentry is an impressive under-3-minutes short film made by filmmaker Ryan Connolly, created for "Film Riot" run by the Connolly Brothers. It's another fine example of just how much can fit in 2 minutes of footage - introducing characters in a sci-fi world, letting action play out quickly. There's a lot going on in this and it's worth a watch. This is good enough to play as a "Black Mirror" opener. Sentry stars Josh Connolly and Justin Robinson. One is on the other side of the war than the other in this dystopian world. This could be called a proof-of-concept, but it's just an engaging micro short with some excellent VFX on top of it all. Watch below + check out more of the Connolly's videos. Thanks to Twitter for the tip. There's no description on either Vimeo or YouTube. Sentry is a micro short directed,...

The German Short Film. Nick Ryan‘s The German (2008) short film stars Toby Kebbell, Christian Brassington, Glenn Mullins, Gary Murphy, and David Ryan. The German‘s plot synopsis: “November 1940, during the greatest conflict man has ever known, an epic duel unfolds between two ace pilots, each willing to take the match to it’s ultimate conclusion. Unknown to the pilots is a fate neither has considered.”
This short film immediately reminded me of the Paths of Hate (2010) short film. Since The German came out before that short film, perhaps it inspired it. Paths of Hate is far better though in my opinion, but The German has a better ending.
The German is a testament to the level of work being done in the short film format these days.
