Roku is getting further into the food TV space, picking up a new series called Best Bite Wins.
The food competition series will be hosted and executive produced by actor Josh Peck, with chef Monti Carlo serving as the show’s culinary expert. The six-episode series is produced by Velvet Hammer Media and Bongo Pictures.
The concept of Best Bite Wins is to turn cocktail party food into a competition, with professional chefs competing to present the best party food to hungry judges and clientele at real events, including birthday parties and retirement celebrations.
“We thrilled to partner with Josh Peck, Velvet Hammer Media, and [EP] Michael Bloom to bring a fresh and fun new competition series for our audience to devour,” said Olivia Laroche, head of alternative originals for Roku. “Food content deeply resonates with our streamers, and we’re pleased to give them more of what they love and...

The stereotype of the sweet old grandmother is getting turned on its head for the Food Network's Clash of the Grandmas, hosted by Et's very own Cameron Mathison.
"It's like your grandma out there, trying to take down the other grandma," Mathison says. "It's hysterical!"

Mathison hosts the show in which four grandmas go toe to toe in the kitchen for culinary supremacy. Judges Nancy Fuller, Monti Carlo and Food Network Star winner Eddie Jackson determine which granny's cuisine is worthy of the $10,000 prize.
"There's always a time limit, so everybody is fighting the clock, always," Mathison explains behind the scenes on the set. "They're flying around the kitchen at speeds I would've never imagined. I've had a push-up competition with one grandma. I've ballroom danced with another one. I've had one singing opera. The whole thing is outrageous and so much fun."

I spoiled the Top 6 of this season of "MasterChef" for myself months ago when I visited the show's traveling set in Los Angeles, but it hasn't made this season any less exciting to watch. "Masterchef" seems to have really found its rhythm and the at-home chefs vying for the title this year are the best we've ever seen, hands down.
But who will come out on top? Talking to the Top 6, one thing was unanimous: Becky Reams, the food photographer from Kansas, is their biggest competition.
Frank Mirando and Becky Reams are the team leaders for tonight's challenge (Tues., Aug.14, 9 p.m. Et on Fox), which pits the final three men standing against the last three ladies standing for a restaurant takeover challenge at Hatfield's in La. That face-off should prove to be one of the season's best so far, since they are arguably two of the strongest cooks remaining.
