“Good Omens” premiered on Amazon Prime on May 31, just in time to be eligible for the Emmys. Now the limited series has the potential for as many as 25 nominations based on what was submitted on the Emmy ballots, which were released to the public on June 10. Scroll down for its list of Emmy submissions.
Based on the cult hit 1990 novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, “Good Omens” is a six-episode apocalypse comedy about the unlikely friendship between angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley (played by Best Movie/Mini Actor contenders Michael Sheen and David Tennant), who work together to stop Armageddon as the forces of heaven and hell prepare for the war to end all wars. Sheen was nominated for an Emmy once before in the same category he’s gunning for now: he picked up a Best Movie/Mini Actor bid in 2010 for playing British Prime Minister Tony Blair in “The Special Relationship.

As it’s based on a single novel, Good Omens is being marketed as a six-part one-off event by Amazon Prime, with showrunner Neil Gaiman – who also co-wrote the book with the late Terry Pratchett – repeatedly confirming that he has no current plans to make a second season. However, as the show has gone down so well with viewers, fans are desperately hoping he’ll change his mind at some point.
It may be possible, too, as the finale certainly teases that there could be an even bigger threat to the world than the events of the first season. After the apocalypse is averted thanks to Adam the Antichrist using his reality-warping powers to send Benedict Cumberbatch’s Satan back to Hell, Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and Crowley (David Tennant) later reflect on the situation while chatting on a London park bench.
Crowley comments that he doesn’t think that was the real Armageddon.

Knowing that “Broad City” would be coming to a close this year brought a lot of anticipation as to what the finale would hold for the program’s beloved characters. What we, as an audience, ended up getting was a magnificent display that embraced everything that the show had been about over its five year run. It’s a wrap-up that should join the greatest in television history including “M*A*S*H,” “Newhart” and “Six Feet Under.”
The episode, simply entitled, “Broad City,” was written by the show’s creators and stars, Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer. It’s Abbi’s last day in NYC before she leaves to begin her artist’s residency in Boulder, Colorado. She and Ilana venture to get a breakfast sandwich from their favorite bodega, only to find it has closed. On their way back, Ilana discovers a luxury toilet that’s been abandoned on the sidewalk.

Good Omens mastermind Neil Gaiman knows exactly what part of the Amazon Prime series would’ve tickled Terry Pratchett, his dearly missed friend and co-author, the most — bar nun. Er, none.
“Knowing Terry, he just would’ve had such a great time with the nuns,” Gaiman, who wrote and executive-produced the series, tells TVLine. “He would’ve been hanging out with the nuns.”
For the uninitiated: Gaiman and Pratchett penned Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, which was published in 1990. They’d been working on turning it into a television show when Pratchett died in...

Good Omens has gone down a treat since it was first released on Amazon Prime last Friday, with fans of the original novel loving the faithful yet fresh adaptation of the apocalyptic comedy-drama. The highlight of the show though has to be David Tennant and Michael Sheen’s chemistry as Crowley and Aziraphale, the demon and angel who team up to prevent Armageddon.
Thanks to their close bond, Good Omens is essentially a love story. And that’s something Sheen was very keen to bring out in the narrative while making the series. In an interview with The Telegraph, the actor explained that he wanted to play Aziraphale as being “in love” with Crowley, as the immortal duo have grown very close over their thousands of years on Earth.
“I wanted to play Aziraphale being sort of in love with Crowley. They’re both very bonded and connected anyway, because...

Good Omens arrived on Amazon Prime last Friday after much fanfare, with the apocalyptic mini-series going down extremely well with critics and viewers. Undoubtedly the most popular aspect of the show is the chemistry between Michael Sheen and David Tennant as angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley, who team up to avert Armageddon.
The series clearly depicts the pair, who’ve been friends for thousands of years despite being on opposite sides, as deeply caring for the other, but it’s unclear whether they’re romantically interested in one another. This is something fans have been debating and one decided to get a definitive answer from the highest authority – showrunner Neil Gaiman, who also co-wrote the book it’s based on with Terry Pratchett.
When asked if Aziraphale and Crowley were gay, Gaiman clarified that the meaning of the term doesn’t apply to them as they aren’t two human men.

Prior to the release of Amazon Prime’s Good Omens, star David Tennant revealed that the apocalyptic comedy-drama would feature the odd reference to Doctor Who, the show that made his name. Tennant isn’t the only Who alumni involved though, as showrunner Neil Gaiman and director Douglas McKinnon both previously worked on the series as well. It’s no wonder then that they decided to slip in a few easter eggs that’ll surely please any Whovians who tune in.
Now that Good Omens has been with us for a few days, we think we’ve picked up on most of the Who references to be found. The first appears to occur in episode 2 as Jack Whitehall’s Newton Pulsifer attends his disastrous first day at his new job while wearing a colorfully-striped tie. Fans will notice that it’s the same pattern as the Fourth Doctor’s iconic long scarf.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters arrives in theaters this weekend. It’s a sequel to 2014’s Godzilla where the enormous beast wreaked havoc in San Francisco and battled Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston and Ken Watanabe. Despite receiving somewhat mixed reviews, the film grossed over $500 million and guaranteed a sequel. This new movie sees Godzilla battle his old foe Mothra and meet up with Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga and Kyle Chandler.

So with the ultimate crisis averted in Good Omens, what does the ending mean for all of the characters involved?
This article contains spoilers for the ending of Good Omens.
Although most of us went into our viewing of Good Omens knowing that Crowley the demon and Aziraphale the angel would be seeking to avoid Armageddon, it has now become clear that the end times were halted despite their actions rather than because of their intervention. Sure, Crowley may have made the fateful error that put Adam Young on his unconventional path, but that wasn’t his own devious plan; it just happened… perhaps according to an ineffable plan. So what can we conclude about the final events of the six-part miniseries?
It was, of course, the Antichrist himself who held all the cards, able to shape the world to his own beliefs, and the Four Horsemen...

“Good Omens” has found its voice of death in Brian Cox.
Neil Gaiman made the announcement Tuesday on his Twitter account, writing “So for anybody wondering… The amazing Brian Cox plays Death in #GoodOmens. This is what Death looks like, when he’s not on a motorbike anyway. (Watch the trailer tomorrow.)”
Amazon will debut the six-episode adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s acclaimed fantasy novel, which stars Michael Sheen and David Tennant as an angel and demon, respectfully, who form an unlikely friendship over centuries of living comfortably on Earth.
Set as the end of the world approaches, the series follows fussy angel, Aziraphale (Sheen), and a loose-living demon, Crowley (Tennant), who are forced to form an unlikely alliance to stop Armageddon as the end of the world approaches.

Leslie Van Houten, who was 19 when she joined other followers of Charles Manson on a 1969 murder spree, is asking the state of California to release her on parole. Over the past five decades, the convict, now 69, has made nearly two dozen attempts to be freed from the California Institute for Women, according to Reuters.
The California Board of Parole Hearings has twice recommended to the governor that he release her, but Jerry Brown has twice refused. The most recent attempt was last January. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger similarly barred the release of people associated with Manson.

A complete explanation of the ever-evolving Mortal Kombat timeline, now including the events of Mortal Kombat 11!
A fighting game kind of needs to have a storyline for the sake of identity. Not just for the characters, but for the world itself. Who are these characters and why are they fighting? Why are they fighting again? And again?
Usually, these lead to fun B-movie plots that can carry a game or two. Sometimes the sequels just retread the same plot over and over (ie. the Soul Calibur games and King of Fighters), but Mortal Kombat has been able to hold its own for over 25 years due to embracing its own wacky mythology and finding ways to be fresh. Even when they're literally redoing an earlier story!
