The 2024 Adelaide International is one of two Atp tournaments that will run before the Australian Open and has committed its highest prize money purse for the men's event.
This Atp 250 event will be contested by 28 singles players who will vie to win a generous sum from the prize money pot in the region of $661,585 - the base level for tournaments of this category.
This year's prize money represents nearly a 3% increment from last year's total for each event (2023 had two stagings of Adelaide International) when Serbia's Novak Djokovic and Soonwoo Kwon were crowned as the Adelaide 1 & 2 champions, respectively.
The draw for the third edition has been released, but neither of the two reigning champions will return to Adelaide. There is a possibility that we could crown a new champion next weekend.
Sebastian Korda came closest to winning last year's title but spurned a match point in a loss to Djokovic in the final.

The draw for the 2024 Adelaide International, Atp 250 tournament, was released, and the event will run from January 8th to 13th.
As one of the last two tournaments before the 2024 Australian Open, the tournament in Adelaide offers the last chance to players to get into their peak form for the season's first Grand Slam.
One of the players that will want to do it is last year's semifinalist from Melbourne, Tommy Paul. The American is the top seed in Adelaide, and as the four top seeded players, he has a bye in the first round.
That means, the'll start the tournament in the second round, but he doesn't have much clarity about who will be his first opponent at the event either, as he'll play against one of the qualifiers.
On the opposite side of the draw is Nicolas Jarry, who will clash with Marton Fucsovics or Matteo Arnaldi, and his...

Felix Auger-Aliassime had a disappointing 2023 campaign on the Atp Tour, and the 2024 season isn't starting any better.
At the end of the 2022 season, the Canadian won three consecutive titles, while winning 16 straight matches, and thanks to the late push, he qualified for his maiden Atp Finals, finishing the year as the world no. 6 in the Atp Rankings.
However, last year, Auger-Aliassime struggled with physical problems and form, and slowly but surely, he started falling down the rankings, exiting the Top 10 in June, and never returning into it, eventually ending the year as the world no. 29.
Ahead of the new season, the 23-year-old admitted that he would like to improve his ability to recover from injuries, and his first two matches, which did not happen, just prove that.

Felix Auger-Aliassime was missing on day 3 of the United Cup, and the Canadian has now confirmed why that was the case.
Canada faced Chile in their opening tie at the event. Auger-Aliassime was expected to face Nicolas Jarry in the singles, and then also compete in the mixed doubles alongside Leylah Fernandez.
World No. 314 Steven Diez replaced Auger-Aliassime in the singles and doubles. Diez lost the singles in straight sets, but he and Fernandez won a dramatic doubles encounter to seal a 2-1 victory over Chile for Team Canada.
Auger-Aliassime, who won the 2023 Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award for the admirable work he has done, provided the reason why he could not compete for Team Canada in an interview at the tournament.
"I wanted to play. I came here early on the 24th getting ready. The last few days, something came up again with my knee and I started getting pain again.

Novak Djokovic, Jannik Sinner, and Daniil Medvedev gained the most points throughout the 2023 season.
Djokovic, who began the year ranked 5th in the standings and with 4,820 points in the first week of 2023, gained 6,425 points - a figure that no player on the Atp Tour could match last season.
The Serb put together one of the finest seasons of his career, winning seven singles titles, including three Grand Slams. Djokovic was triumphant at the Australian Open, French Open, and US Open, taking his Grand Slam tally to 24 - a men's record.
Djokovic was also victorious in two Masters tournaments - Cincinnati and Paris-Bercy - becoming the first man to win 40 Masters 1000 titles. As a result of his dominance and gaining over 6,000 points, he was the only male player who finished with five-digit ranking points.

Novak Djokovic will finish the 2023 season as the year-end No. 1 for the eighth time in his career, while there are notable changes in the world's Top 10.
The men's tennis season drew to a close on Sunday, with Djokovic lifting his 7th Atp Finals title with a resounding victory over Jannik Sinner in the final. Djokovic brings the curtain down to an incredible year with a five-digit points tally.
With 11,245 points, Djokovic finished top, and clear of second-placed Carlos Alcaraz who earned 8,855 points. The Top 10 places did not change during the week in Turin. That means Daniil Medvedev finished third ahead of Atp Finals runner-up Sinner in fourth.
Taylor Fritz will end 2023 as the top-ranked American man and inside the world's Top 10. But Casper Ruud exits that exclusive club. It's the first time since 2020 that Ruud will have a double-digit year-end ranking after failing to qualify for the Atp Finals.

Novak Djokovic will begin his 396th week at the top of the men's rankings and kept his 2,240-point gap over closest rival Carlos Alcaraz .
The Serbian continues his break from tennis and will rejoin the tour at the start of the Paris Masters next week. Alcaraz's absence at this week's Swiss Indoors in Basel means that the deficit at the top will remain the same with just two more Atp tournaments to play between them .
Movement for the rest of the Top 10 is between Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz , who both suffered setbacks in qualifying for the Atp Finals. The 2023 Swiss Indoors will run from October 23 to 29, assembling 32 players in a highly competitive field for the last stop of the Atp 500 events this season.
The draw for this year's tournament has been released and there are a plethora of exciting matches that could have a substantial change in the rankings and the Atp Race. In addition to vying for a huge share of €2,196,000 of prize money , 500 ranking points will be up for grabs.
Holger Rune is the top seed at the event. He has earned a rematch against Miomir Kecmanovic in the first round of the Swiss Indoors. The Serbian ended Rune's title defense in Stockholm this week , and a repeat of the same result in Basel will be a massive setback in the Dane's quest to qualify for the Atp Finals.
Another Atp Finals aspirant is Taylor Frtiz who is in Rune's half of the draw.

Grigor Dimitrov seemingly can't lose at the 2023 Shanghai Masters , but Andrey Rublev will put that to the test in the semi-final on Saturday.
Grigor Dimitrov's runs at the Shanghai Masters didn't stop as he bested Nicolas Jarry to advance to the semi-final. His opponent's run didn't stop either, and Rublev added a win over Ugo Humbert to set up this clash, so what exactly will happen here?
Well, many things can happen here because both players are playing really solid tennis right now, with the conditions in Shanghai suiting both styles. Dimitrov kind of looked a bit more impressive, but that's a halo effect from his win over Carlos Alcaraz.
Rublev was no less impressive however, it's really tough to top beating Alcaraz. He doesn't have a lead in the H2H either, which means that this one will likely end up being a really close match, kind of like their matchup went so far.

Grigor Dimitrov is enjoying a superb week at the Shanghai Masters, and he's withdrawn from the 2023 European Open in Antwerp because of it.
Dimitrov has quietly put together an amazing year so far nearing 40 wins which he didn't have since 2017. The Bulgarian to tallied 38 wins so far with the most recent coming over Nicolas Jarry which sent him to the Shanghai Masters semi-final.
It's his best result at the Atp 1000 level this year, and it's a rare chance for him to advance to the final of such an event. He already contested a final earlier this year but couldn't really get it done, so he hopes that this week concludes in the best way possible.
Obviously, as he continues to play in Shanghai, the amount of wear and tear on his body increases, making it a terrible choice if he would keep playing the following week.

Grigor Dimitrov is having the best season since 2017, and he's proving it also at the 2023 Shanghai Masters , as he bested Chile's Nicolas Jarry .
The Bulgarian seemingly peaked back in 2017, when he managed to win the Atp Finals, and despite always hovering around the Top 20 since then, Dimitrov never managed to win another title.
It may seem incredible and unbelievable, but it's true, and the six-year streak may end now, at the 2023 Shanghai Masters, a tournament, where Dimitrov managed to stun Carlos Alcaraz .
After beating the young Spaniard, and previously ousting Karen Khachanov and Aleksandar Vukic, the Bulgarian took on Nicolas Jarry, who was also having a great week after beating the likes of Lorenzo Sonego and Diego Schwartzman.
But it's difficult to face someone in such for that the Bulgarian has right now. After winning 49 matches in 2017, Dimitrov never managed to get the number in the wins column past 26, yet,...

Stefanos Tsitsipas made a winning start at the 2023 Shanghai Masters , and now he'd like to keep it going against Ugo Humbert .
Tsitsipas hasn't had much luck in tennis lately, suffering a couple of big disappointments. He first disappointed in the Davis Cup, where he was unable to power Greece past Slovakia. He then crashed out early at the China Open by losing to Nicolas Jarry .
Shanghai has been a bit different as he started off with a win , and now he's looking to make it two. The opponent is Ugo Humbert, a really tricky player who is good enough to beat this version of Tsitsipas, especially in these conditions.
Head-to-head:
Tsitsipas and Humbert played a few of times so far on the Atp Tour, and the French player leads 2-1. That just shows how tricky this matchup is for Tsitsipas, as all three matches happened on hard courts, and he only won one.

After crashing out early at the 2023 China Open last week, Stefanos Tsitsipas made sure not to do the same thing at the 2023 Shanghai Masters .
The Greek player has had a few very rough weeks on the Atp Tour, losing multiple matches he could have won. It all started way back at the US Open, where Dominic Stricker beat him to end his run there early.
He then travelled to Greece for some Davis Cup action but failed to power the country past Slovakia. The China Open didn't go any better as Nicolas Jarry beat him in his first match , which meant that he touched down in Shanghai with a losing streak.
The streak is no more because Tsitsipas bested Rinky Hijikata in his first match there. The matchup is a good one for Tsitsipas, as their first match earlier this year showed.
The Australian had no chance, and it was similar this time.

Alexander Zverev is thriving in China as he booked a 7th straight win since landing in the country; the latest victim was Nicolas Jarry .
There are many reasons why Alexander Zverev is having such a good time in China, and much of that has to do with the conditions and his style of play. Chengdu worked exceptionally for him because his serve was almost nuclear at that event.
Winning a trophy never hurts your confidence, and even a very late finish a few days ago at the 2023 China Open didn't shake the German. He came out on fire against Nicolas Jarry, smashing the Chilean easily in the opening set. We alluded to this happening in our preview simply because his style gives Jarry so many problems.

This exciting matchup between two great players, Alexander Zverev and Nicolas Jarry , could go either way, so let's try the impossible and predict what will happen at the 2023 China Open .
There are many interesting nuggets which makes this a very polarizing matchup. On one hand, we have Alexander Zverev who dealt with an incredibly late finish in the previous round though that was a day ago. He had time to recover properly but had to play a doubles match which might have had some impact on said recovery.

Alexander Zverev won his second-round match at the 2023 China Open in Beijing, beating Alejandro Davidovich Fokina .
The German is one of the players who complained about late-night finishes this year, and he won't be happy about what happened at the Atp 500 tournament in Beijing. After a very long day, which started with a long match between Nicolas Jarry and Matteo Arnaldi, and was followed by Daniil Medvedev's win over Alex de Minaur , the German eventually got to play his match that started at midnight.
Zverev has been playing great tennis recently , and he wanted to follow up on that in Beijing. He started well in the first round against Diego Schwartzman , and to follow up on that in the second round, he had to overcome more than just his opponent.
The first set of the match saw multiple breaks from both players, but every time, it was the Spaniard who broke first.

Stefanos Tsitsipas continued to struggle with his tennis, suffering a shocking upset against Nicolas Jarry at the China Open .
This match was rather fascinating in many different ways. On the one hand, it's a shocking loss for Tsitsipas because he played really well here in the past, and the conditions suit him really well.
On another note, it's not that surprising if you look at how he played in recent weeks. It's even less shocking when you look at this opponent who already stunned him once this year in similar conditions.
The courts in Asia play rather fast, and Jarry has a powerful serve and a really good forehand. He used it quite often to go to the backhand of Tsitsipas, which isn't his biggest weapon when under pressure.

The 2023 Swiss Indoors will take place from October 23rd to 29th in Basel, Switzerland and this year's entry list has been released.
As is customary, the event will be held indoors as players look to get some much-needed momentum for the Paris Masters and the Atp Finals scheduled to take place in the subsequent weeks after the conclusion of the Swiss Indoors.
For close to two decades, Roger Federer reigned supreme at this tournament, winning it a record 10 times. But since his retirement, the door has been left ajar for the rest of the Tour to etch their names in the roll of honor's list.
A 32-man tennis caravan will assemble at St. Jakobshalle, which houses 12,400 spectators in its main arena. It is the last Atp 500 event on the calendar, running concurrently with the Vienna Open held in the same week.
Top seed Carlos Alcaraz returns to Basel for the second year in a row.

Nicolas Jarry and Stefanos Tsitsipas had some interesting battles in the past and fans are hoping for another one at the 2023 China Open in Beijing.
Neither will be too happy with this draw, but the event is just so strong that there aren't any easy opponents. Tsitsipas need wins and is hopeful of winning, but it's not a guaranteed thing against Jarry, who has given him some trouble in the past.
The Greek player didn't show a very good level in the recent Davis Cup matches , but there is optimism that a return to China could spark something. Nicolas Jarry was pretty solid lately and has been for much of this year. We know what we'll get from the Chilean, which makes this a very interesting matchup.

Neither will be too happy with this draw, but the event is just so strong that there aren't any easy opponents. Tsitsipas need wins and is hopeful of winning, but it's not a guaranteed thing against Jarry, who has given him some trouble in the past.

The 2023 China Open will be held in Beijing from September 28th to October 4th, and it has one of the strongest Atp 500 draw s of the season.
Although Novak Djokovic didn't sign up for the tournament, the event is still full of talented youngsters and Top 10 players. The leading player is Carlos Alcaraz , who is the top seed at the tournament, and he will start against one of the qualifiers in the first round of the event.
On the other side of the draw is the second-seeded Daniil Medvedev , who defeated the young Spaniard at the US Open , and in Beijing, the Russian will start his journey against Tommy Paul from the United States.
The winner of this match will also face a challenging second-round clash, as the winner of the match will await either Andy Murray or Alex de Minaur . Another interesting matchup in this quarter will see the...

The 2023 Cincinnati Masters , held from August 13th to 20th, is here, and so is the draw for the Atp 1000 tournament.
After the Atp Masters 1000 event held in Canada, players traditionally move to Cincinnati to complete the doubleheader. The tournament is also called the Western & Southern Open, and last year, it was sensationally won by Borna Coric .
And while the Croat managed to stun everybody in 2022, this year, the focus will once again shift to the big names. The top seed at the tournament is none other than Carlos Alcaraz , who will want to translate his form from the Canadian Open also to Cincinnati.
As with all the top-eight-seeded players, the Spaniard has a bye in the first round, and in the second round of the competition, he'll start against one of the qualifiers, or John Isner , who received a wild card for the tournament.

Stefanos Tsitsipas bagged his 10th Atp Tour title of his career with a resounding victory over Alex de Minaur in the Los Cabos Open final.
Tsitsipas arrived in Western Mexico without an Atp title this year after losing in each of the two finals he contested in the first half of the season . But on the evidence of his majestic week in Los Cabos, he'll be relieved the monkey is finally off his back.
Tsitsipas recorded a 6-3, 6-4 win over de Minaur who was unbeaten in his last nine matches in Mexico following his title success in Acapulco earlier this year. Tsitsipas dropped serve just three times during the week and survived his biggest test in the quarterfinal win over Nicolas Jarry .

Top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas will meet fifth-seeded Alex De Minaur in the final of the 2023 Los Cabos Open on Saturday, August 5, 2023.
We've got a marquee final at the 2023 Los Cabos Open with Greek star Tsitsipas looking to win his first title of the season up against Australia's De Minaur who is unbeaten in nine matches in Mexico.
With a host of top names taking a breather this week, and a few electing to play the high-profile Atp 500 event in Washington, Tsitsipas raised eyebrows by making the long trip to Western Mexico to spearhead this year's Los Cabos Open.
And that decision could yield dividends for the Greek star who has played some of his best tennis this week in a surprisingly competitive field for an Atp 250 event. Tsitsipas tamed two big servers in John Isner and Nicolas Jarry - the latter being the only opponent to take a set from...

Stefanos Tsitsipas produced his most accomplished performance of the week at the expense of Borna Coric to reach the Los Cabos Open final.
In just 71 minutes, Tsitsipas raced to a 6-3, 6-2 win over Coric, shaking off any demons that seemed to engulf him while playing the Croat on hard courts. At the start of the season, Coric led their Atp head-to-head 3-1, but Tsitsipas has now turned the tables and leads 4-3, beating Coric three times in a row this year.
His latest display might be the best one yet, as he played with composure, patience, and an attacking mindset. Coric's tactics of pinning Tsitsipas in the backhand corner didn't quite work as anticipated. Tsitsipas, who previously defeated Nicolas Jarry , was able to mix it up with regular use of the drop shot and sliced quite a lot to keep the ball as low as possible. His serve was impregnable throughout.

Borna Coric finished late, or should we say early, against Ilya Ivashka, but he didn't even realize that he finished the match.
It was a long day at the 2023 Los Cabos Open on Thursday, with several matches going the distance. The court generally plays a bit slower than usual hard courts, which drags out the rallies. Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nicolas Jarry took 3 hours to finish their match which was bad news for Borna Coric.
The Croatian was scheduled to play the last match of the day, a match that essentially started one day after it was supposed to take place as they took to the courts after midnight. It was a long match, relatively speaking, considering that it lasted only two sets meaning that it finished in the early hours of Friday.

Top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas will meet fourth seed Borna Coric in the semifinals of the 2023 Los Cabos Open on Friday, August 4, 2023.
Stefanos Tsitsipas is playing the Los Cabos Open for the first time this week, a decision that might have been fuelled by his desire to end his longest Atp title drought for some time. Standing between Tsitsipas and a final spot is Croatian number four seed Borna Coric.
Tsitsipas began his campaign in the Mexican city with a commanding win over big-serving American John Isner , dispatching the 38-year-old 6-2 6-4. Stefanos Tsitsipas had to fight in the 2023 Los Cabos Open quarterfinals, but it was a victorious fight against Nicolas Jarry .
Ahead of the Atp 250 tournament in Mexico, top-seeded Tsitsipas felt good, saying that he has zero responsibility to prove anything to anyone . As the highest seed, he didn't have to play his first-round match, and started immediately in the second round.
In the second round, the Greek played against a big serve in John Isner, but the American isn't having the best season of his life, and therefore, Tsitsipas was able to comfortably win the match and set up a quarterfinal clash with Nicolas Jarry.
The Greek, known for his aggressive approach, found a robust opponent in Jarry. The Chilean, having entered the tournament as a wild card, seemed to have a point to prove and played some of the best tennis of his career, as he's been doing over the past few months.

And Tsitsipas' exuberance reflected in his dominant 6-2, 6-4 win over Isner.
Tsitspas started the match on the front foot, manufacturing three successive break points in the fifth game of the first set, courtesy of some uncharacteristic errors from Isner's usually reliable forehand and serve. And the Greek broke to love when a mishit backhand looped over the tall American and landed just inside the opposite baseline.

The draw has been released for the 2023 Los Cabos Open , and once again, the Atp 250 event has a lot of star power to offer.
The entry list for the Los Cabos Open, also called the Mifel Tennis Open, is always quite fascinating, as it features multiple players from the Top 20, but then a minor drop and many players that are ranked lower than 50th in the Atp Rankings .
This year is no different, and while Karen Khachanov had to withdraw from the tournament , it still kept a lot of star power to shine brightly from July 31st to August 5th before players head to Canada for the Atp 1000 tournament in Toronto.
Daniil Medvedev won the title last year , and while the Russian won't compete in 2023, one of his biggest rivals will. Stefanos Tsitsipas is the first seed at the tournament, and as all four top seeds, he has a bye in the first round.

London, July 17 (Ians) Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz retained the world No.1 position in the latest Atp rankings released on Monday after beating Novak Djokovic to win his first Wimbledon and second Grand Slam singles title.
At only 20 years old, Alcaraz has already held World No.1 for longer than 12 other former World No.1s including Mats Wilander (20 weeks), Daniil Medvedev (16), Andy Roddick (13), Boris Becker (12) and his coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero (8).
Alcaraz leads second-placed Djokovic by 880 points in the Atp Rankings, setting the stage for a big showdown for the Atp Year-End No. 1 ranking.
Last year, Alcaraz became the youngest player to earn the year-end No.1 honour. Djokovic owns the record for most year-end No.1 finishes with seven, most recently accomplishing the feat in 2021.
There was no change in this week’s top 10. Alcaraz and Djokovic are followed by Russian Daniil Medvedev at No.3, Norway’s Casper Ruud at No.4, Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas at No.

London, July 2 (Ians) Wimbledon 2023, the third Grand Slam of the season, is drawing near: the grass courts are freshly-cut, the all-white kits are ready to be donned, and more importantly, some new tennis records are waiting to be hit.
Novak Djokovic, at the age of 36, has made his intentions clear — playing for the record books.
The Serbian legend has Roger Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon titles as well as a 24th major in his sights as he closes in on a first calendar Grand Slam in 54 years.
Djokovic won his 23rd Grand Slam earlier last month at Roland Garros. A 24th would help him tie the record with Margaret Court, reports Xinhua.
The second seed and defending champion will open his campaign against Argentina’s Pedro Cachin, with the first dangerous obstacle in his path possibly coming in the fourth round against former semifinalist and No.17 seed Hubert Hurkacz or Italian No.

Carlos Alcaraz was spotted checking out the screens during his post-match press conferences; it was match scores.
Carlos Alcaraz faced his biggest test at Wimbledon so far in Nicolas Jarry who once again pushed him quite hard on the court. They had a pretty fierce battle earlier this year in Rio which Alcaraz won. That was a pretty close match that the Spaniard had to turn around as Jarry took the opening set.
The trajectory of their Wimbledon match was a bit different but Jarry once again pushed Alcaraz pretty hard, almost forcing him to play a decider. There is just something about the matchup that gives Alcaraz trouble and it doesn't matter whether they play on Jarry's continent or on Alcaraz's.

A match where Carlos Alcaraz is one of the players predictably got plenty of applause but one was reserved for the umpire.
Carlos Alcaraz and Nicolas Jarry played a really great match that almost went to five sets . Jarry was up a break in the 4th set but collapsed towards the end to allow the Spaniard to escape in four sets.
A really strong match with a lot of highlights featured one that had very little to do with the players. It was the umpire Nico Helwerth who got all the attention when he showed that he has some other skills than being a great umpire.
Jarry hit a really strong serve that Alcaraz didn't quite manage to put back into the court as the ball flew towards the match umpire. It wasn't the quickest of returns which allowed the match umpire to catch the ball with a superb reflex.

Carlos Alcaraz is the youngest tennis player in the Top 50 on the Atp Tour and he's not surprised about it demonstrating full belief in his skillset.
A lot of people are confident in their skills whatever they might be. Not all should be though as there are plenty of people overselling their skills but Carlos Alcaraz is not one of them. The Spaniard is confident , arguably extremely confident but he backs it up as well.
At times he does get humbled like he did against Novak Djokovic at Roland Garros but he's staying consistent with talking a big game. There are plenty of records he already broke and still plenty of those that he will break. He's the youngest man to be number one ever and also the youngest player in the Top 50 in the Atp Rankings right now.

Nicolas Jarry nearly beat Carlos Alcaraz earlier this year on clay and he nearly did it again on grass pushing him to four sets but the Spaniard prevailed at Wimbledon .

Carlos Alcaraz is one step closer to a Wimbledon final; going on a deep run and possibly playing a final at the Championships is a stated goal for him.
The Spaniard touched down in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland with a lot of doubt about his grass level. He did have a solid outing at the event last year but solid outings aren't what he's looking for. The anticlimactic end to his Roland Garros experience left him even more hungry for Grand Slams success so the obvious goal is to aim for the trophy.
Aiming for the trophy while being unsure about your level on a surface that has been shaky for you in the past seems foolish but that's exactly what Alcaraz is doing. He openly stated a few days ago that his goal is to win the tournament , adding that a match against Djokovic...

The 2023 Wimbledon will run from July 3rd to 16th and the Atp draw for the tournament is already known.
Without a doubt, the third Grand Slam of the season is the most prestigious one, and one where history was made in the past. Novak Djokovic was certainly part of that history, and he may write another chapter of his book in 2023.
Last year, the Serb won his 21st Grand Slam title and fourth consecutive Wimbledon trophy , and he will be on his quest to defend it this year and tie all-time Grand Slam record by winning his 24th major.
But he won't be the top seed in the draw. The second-seeded Djokovic will begin his journey against Pedro Cachin, after playing one warm-up match before the tournament . If there will be someone to challenge the defending champion, it will be the first-seeded Carlos Alcaraz .
The Spaniard will start his tournament against Jeremy Chardy.

The 2023 Eastbourne International will serve as the last preparation before the third major of the season, from June 26th to July 1st.

Alexander Zverev is putting forward some excellent performances on grass as he booked his first semi-final at the Halle Open in six years by beating Nicolas Jarry in straight sets.
Zverev returned to Halle this year for some grass tennis and it proved quite a good decision. He initially planned to play in Stuttgart but opted against that after picking up an injury against Casper Ruud at the French Open.
The German spoke about feeling much better about his tennis and form leading up to Halle explaining that he feels like he can win events again . A deep run in Paris certainly boosted his confidence and it's showing in Halle. Stefanos Tsitsipas experienced another loss, this time at the 2023 Halle Open to an inspired Nicolas Jarry .
Less than a week ago, the Greek witnessed Richard Gasquet's 600th win in Stuttgart . He quickly forgot it when he moved to Halle, winning his first-round match against Gregoire Barrere in three sets . But in the second round, Tsitsipas wasn't so successful.
The 24-year-old played against Nicolas Jarry, who has a game that suits the grass court well. The two met twice on the Atp Tour before, and the Chilean managed to win the match that was played on the grass court in 's-Hertogenbosch four years ago.
Tsitsipas entered the tournament without his former coach Mark Philippoussis , but since the two split he hasn't been really successful. In the first set, the second seed had five break points, but he couldn't use his chances and the set had to be decided in a tie-break.

Casper Ruud faced his most challenging opponent at this year's Roland Garros so far, but he handled the challenge perfectly.
World No. 35, Nicolas Jarry was one of the highest-ranked unseeded players in the Atp draw and he's been playing some sensational tennis recently, winning the title in Geneva and beating two-time defending champion Casper Ruud along the way.
Therefore, the Norwegian knew that he had to be cautious and extremely patient against the tall Chilean. In his third-round match, Ruud had to battle some early frustration, but he had to avoid that against Jarry.
Ruud faced five break points already in the first game of the match, and getting broken against Jarry would be a real disaster for him. Thanks to his fighting spirit, the Norwegian saved all and even broke his opponent in his very first service game.
But Jarry fought back when he broke back in the fifth...

Paris, June 3 (Ians) Norwegian tennis player Casper Ruud continued to make smooth progress at the French Open as he dispatched Chinese player Zhang Zhizhen 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, 6-4 in the third round, here on Saturday.
The fourth seed Ruud, who is the highest seed remaining in the bottom half of the draw, emphatically pounced on short balls throughout the two-hour, 38-minute third-round clash.
He stepped forward effectively to dictate with his heavy forehand, using a mixture of spins in the lively conditions on Court Suzanne-Lenglen to earn his 14th clay-court win of the season.
“It was tough. It was a bit frustrating in the beginning. I didn’t hit as well as I would have hoped,” said Ruud, who improved as the match went on.
“I didn’t really find any hole in his game, but luckily at 5-4 in the second set, he played some sloppy shots and I got the break.

Grigor Dimitrov made a winning start at Roland Garros and he has a new sponsor, one tied to the event and France.
For the majority of his career, Grigor Dimitrov played in Nike kits but the Bulgarian tennis player has now switched over to Lacoste. It's an interesting move for Dimitrov who has been with Nike for 15 years but now he'll be donning what he described as a more elegant uniform.
As a French brand Lacoste has been tied to Roland Garros in the past and announcing the switch during the duration of the event seems kind of fitting. The partnership was accompanied by a video posted on the Lacoste Instagram page as well.
To me, Lacoste and elegance comes together. The legendary impact of the crocodile is inseparable from the history of our sport. have always been sensitive to style and fashion in general. I like to associate on...

Alexander Zverev got close to reaching his first Atp final at the 2023 Geneva Open since last year's injury, but lost in the semifinals.
Over the past few months, Nicolas Jarry showed that he's able to play tennis that can beat the best players in the world, and in Geneva, he's showing that again. In the quarterfinals, he defeated the two-time defending champion Casper Ruud and took on the third seed from Germany in the semifinals.
Zverev needed a good run ahead of the Roland Garros, where he defend last year's semifinal. He certainly achieved that by reaching the semifinals in Geneva, but the former world no. 2 certainly wanted to take it another step further.
The two met three times before, with all meetings taking part during the 2019 clay-court season. The German won two of those matches, but in their first-ever H2H meeting, Jarry was the winning player.

Casper Ruud was a two-time defending champion at the 2023 Geneva Open but he won't win it for the third time.

After beating J.J. Wolf in the second round of the competition, Ruud took on Nicolas Jarry in the quarterfinals, tall Chilean who was playing in a very good form recently and beat some good players.
